  1. I had "Sat Fault" show up a while back, went to dealer and they replaced the Sirius receiver under warranty. Everything works fine now.
  2. Has anyone changed spark plugs in their Edge? Are there any "special" procedures or tools involved?
  3. I use AMSOIL 0W-20 in my 2009 Edge. 0W pumps quicker than 5W in cold weather.
  4. My son just bought a new 2010 F150 from a dealer. He got to talking about my 2009 Edge SEL and the salesman told him that I did NOT have a Multiple Displacement Engine in my 2009 Edge. Do I have a MDE or Not? Please Settle the dispute.
  5. I think the assembly is glued, as in melted together. IF you could break all of the MELT points you could get it apart. Super Glue could assist in re-assembly. Why do you want to separate it? GOOD LUCK
  6. The horns are on the right side. Open the hood and look down by the back of the headlight. That is where the horns are. IF you want a different sound go to a salvage yard and get something else and relocate them to a center position that will have room or wire them in parallel with the ones on the right side. Then you can BLAST anyone.
  7. I have The Silver Stars in the Hi and Lo beams. Adjusted the headlights up slightly. Have had only one flash compliant in 10K miles. They were +$ but worth it.
  8. Go to Tire Rack, select your size and compare brands and tread styles. Then make a choice.
  9. I was in a parking garage over the weekend and my Sirius reception was as good as on the highway.
  10. The bumper to bumper warranty starts on the in service date and extends for 3 years (36 months). Some stuff is warrantied for 12 months from the in service date. Everything else is identified in the warranty guide. Go to a Ford dealer and ask for an Oasis report, the born on date will be on the report.
  11. If you look into the front wheel well with the tires on you will not see very much clearance between the inner part of the tire and the bottom of the spring mount on the macpherson strut. Chains and possibly cables will "strech" after a few miles. When this happens the chain/cable will beat the spring mount to pieces and possibly damage the strut itself. The last time I bought struts they were $300 each not including the installation and alignment. Do what you think is best for you.
  12. It is a 2009 that now has 22K+ on the ticker. I went to a dealer in Texas, they e-mailed Ford and the answer was that there "did not seem to be a problem'. Last week (2-15-09) I went to a dealer in Santa Fe, NM, with 8x11 pictures. The service manager said to me that it looked bad and they also e-mailed and Ford responded that they answered this problem before with the Texas dealer no action taken. I'm waiting for the fire. I'm not too happy about this but it appears that FORD has blinders and earplugs.
  13. There is a very fine thread between IDIOT and Genius. Some of the former are all about ME without any regard for anyone else. These people are dangerous and will kill or maim someone someday, IF they have not done so already. "Drivers Education" apparently does not teach "courtesy" for other drivers.
  14. After a dealer replaced the Sirius radio I got 1 year for $77. There is no decent AM reception here in Outer Nowhere New Mexico, so it works for me.
  15. I use Rain-X and after a few wipes I have a "debris" line also. I try to be patient and refrain from using wipers as long as I safely can. The Rain-X also helps the windshield shed ice and snow at 7500' in New Mexico.
  16. Put a piece of black felt or short nap carpet over it. Replace as necessary, cheap and effective UF protector.
  17. It fit perfect, did not require any modifications or other adjustments.
  18. I installed this one in 20 minutes no problems. Its a Stampede from Street Side Auto
  19. I'd personally love to install a by-pass filter system on the 3.5L. But as yet, I can't figure out where to mount one. If I use the oil filter location on the engine, running lines to a filter relocation/bypass system, runs the lines too close to the large canister dropping down from the exhaust header. Then running the lines under the front trans-axle to a location just to the front side of the rear doors, looks like it will extend to low under the undercarriage for me. Just looking over these thing's on the Edge looks like good engineering work from Ford. By-pass filtering is probably over-kill, but it has been something I'm trying to research to use. Hopefully I'll find a place to install one. Even checked under the battery tray. Their is litterly no room in the engine bay for anything to be added. I installed an AMSOIL bypass system on my 3.5. I mounted the filters in front of the left front wheel behind the bumper. Take the RF wheel off and the fender liner. Its a short run for the hoses from the filter adapter to the bypass system.
  20. The vent louvers in my 09 are vertical. I have not had any ventilation flow issues to date. I live in Texas and this vehicle has been to Mexifornia twice since June, I have clocked 15,000 miles since june and do not have a problem with the louvers, yet.
  21. I have the Silverstars in both the HI and LO beams. I also adjusted the LO beams up a notch or two and have much better illumination on the road without annoying oncoming traffic. I changed them about a month or so ago and am VERY comfortable with the results. It was $$ but worth it.
  22. My home is Ft. Worth TX, Presently in Los Alamos NM. Originally from Marshfield, WI. Its not warm here either.
  23. From the looks of it you could have your own forum and make a career out of answering questions. Some of the questions asked so far should be obvious to anyone that has SOME automotive knowledge or ability. I think you offer of assistance is wonderful and I hope the offer doesn't overwhelm you. IF I need your assistance I know where to find you. Thanks
