  1. Seems this thread is dead, but I want to clear something up, re the postition I took in my previous replies. I had missed that the OP's purchase was an A-plan price, and had I realized that, I would have agreed with Haz, and the others. This was not a routine trade-in, and the dealer cannot pay the additional costs to accept a foreign-registered vehicle, as that would be in violation of the agreement with Ford. I am sorry for jumping in with my .02, and in re-reading this thread, I agree that those costs are MattyP's responsibility.
  2. I can agree with you that it is a stylin B/A look, but there are a couple things. I don't care for the 20" wheels; like the look of 18's fine, and I believe it rides and handles better with the 18's, and there is a better selection of tires, and at lower cost, when the time comes. Have been thinking about the Limited with standard wheels, but then again, the 18 wheels on a Limited are just painted. For that money, I want the polished wheels, like they put on the MKX. Little more room on the back of a Exp, for when taking stuff to the kids house, or to the beach. Decisions, decisions.
  3. So factory-installed towing package nearly doubles the towing capacity, as it includes more than the hitch receiver and wiring. Definitely worth the modest cost of that option, when buying new.
  4. To me, the Edge looks like a manly vehicle, but every time I see a woman driving one, she doesn't look out of place. So I'd say Ford hit a home run on the lines of the Edge, making it appealing to both genders, and certainly, opening up their market by doing so.
  5. Haz, how do you know all this stuff. Every tme I come on here, I learn something noew. Thanks for posting that link. WTG.
  6. I MUCH prefer the 18" wheels, and really wish the polished 18's were available on the Edge Limited. But if I could find a deal like Haz made, on an MKX equipped just the same, I would be all over it. But I haven't found any dealers willing to deal on an MKX.
  7. You make a pretty good case to consider the Hyundae, but I would still pick Ford, for the best overall quality, and resale. I also give points to Ford for making the amazing comeback from when Ford stock was bottomed out at about $1/share, and yet they took no bailout. Have you check Ford's stock prices lately? That's a good indicator of investor confidence in a company, and where they are headed. But back to the choices; I would say, if nothing else matters, just go for the one that you would be most pleased with seeing in your driveway. Good luck with your chice.
  8. Congratulations on the new job, on keeping the Edge, and on your soon to be addition to your family!
  9. Thanks for the heads-up. I was just looking at Husky mats and mudguards on the website last night. Will keep it in mind, when I get my ride.
  10. As one who is almost ready to made a deal on a new Edge, I am a but concerned about this. Does it seem to be a fairly common problem among Edge owners? That would drive me nuts, and wish I kept my old Jeep (which STILL drives like new). I hope you get this resolved soon. Please post back with any new info.
  11. This discussion may lean me to spending more money as I am about to order a new Edge (or Exp?), and wasn;t even going to get remote start. But the more I thought about it, I decided that it could be very handy at times. NOW I need to decided which RS I am going to want. Oh.. if only that lotto ticket woulda paid off :happy feet:
  12. Wow. I'm impressed. Not sure I would have wanted to take my Jeep up that.
  13. I've been on the fence for 6 months or so, deciding what I want to replace my old Jeep with. I was leaning toward another one, but the Edge keeps haunting me, and I do like the looks of the Explorer as well. Anyways, getting closer to a decision, and I have reuled out everything else out there. So wich me luck, and I'll keep ya all posted.
  14. Congrats on your selection, and the best of luck. This is a decision I am also facing, as I like to look of both the Edge and Explorer, and whatever I decide to buy, it will be replacing a somewhat smaller 01 Jeep Cherokee (Classic, not the Grand Cherokee). I may like to add'l room of the Exp, but haven't made up my mind. WIllbe back at the dealer later n the week, looking at them some more.
  15. Haz, I was able to see your personal messenger text, but only after typing a lengthy reply, I found out I cannot send messages do to not having 20 posts. I saved my reply to you, and will try to send it via email, if that is possible..
