Sending a location from Google Maps no longer works??

Recommended Posts

I tried sending a location from Google Maps to my SYNC system today and noticed that "Ford" is no longer available as a selection under the "Send To: Car" options. I've used this feature since I purchased my vehicle over 1.5 yrs ago. Anyone know what happened or why it's been desabled??

Well there are still no reasons why, but Google confirmed it no longer will be available:

Hi,

Thank you for recently reporting a problem with the Send-to-Car feature

for Ford or General Motors automobiles through Google Maps.

We can confirm that the Send-to-Car feature is no longer available for

Ford or GM vehicles, though it continues to be available for drivers of

other makes.

Cheers,

The Google Maps team

How do you download the Mapquest directions if you don't have data service on your phone. I did it once before but I updated to 3.2 and the info got erased. I don't remember how I did it before. Phone call to Services? If so, what command?

I push the sync voice button, and say services. It dials the phone and says you have received directions to XYZ, do you want to accept? (or something like that) Don't know if it will work without data?

You push the voice button and say services. When you get to services say directions. At that point say web point or help and it

will give you all the commands. You do not need any data plans to do this. all you need is a active sync account and a paired phone.

Ford servired there ties with google about 6 to 8 month ago.
