krazykanuck
Tonight leaving the gym I noticed that one of the small amber bulbs in my turn signal light (for oncoming cars) is burnt. Has anyone ever changed just the light unit on this w/o changing the whole mirror housing? Here's a stock photo for reference...
IWRBB
I highly doubt it's a part sold by Ford. If a bunch start failing, then maybe 5 years from now Dorman might make a part to replace the LED only. Otherwise, you are likely stuck replacing the whole mirror assembly. enigma-2
Covered under warranty?
krazykanuck
Covered under warranty? Nope. and I have BLIS so I can imagine a dealer replacement would cost much more that it's worth the annoyance to me.
enigma-2
There's one for the 2015,16 (you didn't specify your year) on Ebay. Item #282098113981
enigma-2
There was a discussion about this over in the Ford trucks forum. Fella found that the LED can be replaced. Another describes how to do it yourself. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1206592-side-view-mirror-disassembly-leds-stopped-working.html

jmr061
The turn signal assembly within the mirror is available as a separate part. Contact your local dealer and get the part # or fordparts.com and enter your vin and search "mirror." Not cheap but better than an entire mirror.
jmr061
I may have talked too soon. I checked the info for 15/16. Noticed you have a 13. There is no specific part for just the turn signal in the mirror and I pulled the service manual and diagnostic testing says if the signal in the mirror is found to be defective....replace the mirror. How stupid is that!
