Missing Heat Shield???

I have a 2024 Edge ST with the factory installed tow package. I was under the rear of the vehicle doing an inspection and there appears to be a missing part. A heat shield. Where the rear muffler pipes branch off and head out of the trapezoid exhaust trim pieces. It looks like it would protect the rear lower bumper and lower trim pieces from excessive heat. There are attachment points to the lower bumper trim panel but no shield. I tried looking up parts diagrams and cannot find this rear heat shield but have seen it in exhaust installation/removal videos on YouTube. I am thinking Ford may have discontinued installing this part on newer ST models but didn't know if anyone had any additional information.

For reference it would attach to the back side of the lower gray bumper trim piece that has the exhaust tip diffusers.

I haven't looked yet but I'm guessing my 22 ST-Line with tow package is missing this shield. What is the reason to add this piece if it's missing???? I already added the missing hood insulation and ordered the engine cover with hopes of them dampening the noisy 2.0.

@fishx65: From Forum member @Kclonn's first post in the above-linked Factory Trailer Hitch discussion...

"I just bought a new 2022 Edge Titanium and it came with the trailer hitch option. I noticed that the bottom (gray) part of the rear bumper was not attached to anything and flapped at hiway speeds."

For additional info, see the discussion: Factory Trailer Hitch.

Good luck!

Davidoo could you give me the part number. Mine has the factory installed tow package.

The part number is KT4Z-5811778-D.  It is titled as "Deflector - Air."  When I first got the car I noticed how the back bumper cover over the trailer hitch was loose.  Also, someone I know was driving behind me and they said the bumper cover was flapping in the wind.  Just ridiculous for a new car, so I ordered the part and the dealer put it on for me.  They were shaking their head about it as well.  This part does a good job of stabilizing the bottom of the bumper cover.

Thank you for all the great info. Haz directed me to another thread, and I was able to locate one through another forum member. The part number he has is KT4Z-5811778-C which I believe can be easily modified to fit.

I too had to order and install the missing hood insulator blanket.

In addition, the little rubber mat that goes in the forward passthrough of the center console was missing. It was about 45 bucks!

And the little plastic tray that goes in the center console wasn't there.

What a joke. Shame on Ford for doing this. Do they really want vehicles out on the road with missing parts? Let alone parts of the vehicle flapping around while driving down the highway? Sad.

Make sure ya don't purchase the factory tray that goes in the center console.  The ones on Amazon for around $16.00 are deeper and way nicer.
