edjunior Posted yesterday at 02:25 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:25 AM I got a message today, after my Edge wouldn't remote start, that the battery in the fob was low. Yeah, so low, it wouldn't remote start. I could still unlock the door though. Got the other fob, and as I figured, it was dead also. Luckily, I had some CR-2025 batteries at the house. Of course I didn't know that each fob took two batteries. Dang. And man, getting the cover off was a test of patience. If I had to get to the emergency key for something real, I think I might have broken the thing. After it broke my fingernails!! Anyway, I finally got them apart, changed the batteries, and all is good. Now to get the second TPMS sensor replaced. It's close to oil change time, so I might just wait until that comes up, or just get the oil change done a little early, and have the TPMS done at the same time. It's all good!

Oldandintheway
The Edge FOB takes CR2450 batteries. they are 24mm diameter and 5mm thick The CR2025 is 20mm diameter and 2.5mm thick. Two of those can work in a pinch, but the diameter can be an issue.

The other one did have a little trouble holding the top battery, but both fobs work just fine now. Maybe the 2016 used the 2025?? I don't know, but they both work now.
