sabasigh
Have a 2011 SEL and seems like there's an awful lot of vibration in the front passenger side seatback while on the highway. Sometimes it will make a noise, sometimes not. I should probably just get an old lady but thinking its much cheaper to just come up with a fix. Anyone else notice this? Actually, I too have noticed this. I have also have a 2011 SEL, with leather seats. I too notice it most at highway speads. It's almost like an invisible annoying little kid is kicking the seatback. The vibration is strange, but not really enough to bother me. Seems like the passenger seatback shouldn't move at all though.

Perhaps rather than blame the seat, find the cause--- like a tire out of balance or out of round----
sabasigh
Mine is vibrating even about 30mph. No other ride issues that would point to another cause. Plus, there's quite a bit of play in the seat back and the track as well.
NewEdgeForMe
Perhaps rather than blame the seat, find the cause--- like a tire out of balance or out of round---- It has done this since the day I bought my edge with 6 miles on it. I highly doubt that it is due to tires out of balance. No vibration in the whole car, just the passenger seat.
tarponbeach
Front seat back vibration at speed is usually due to a rear tire that is out of balance.
k1200rsport
I cmplained about the seat back vibration and then the service guy and me checked all Edge's in their lot and they all had similar issue....looks like it is from factory. guerro
Perhaps rather than blame the seat, find the cause--- like a tire out of balance or out of round---- My 2011 Edge Sport has less than 300 miles on it and I noticed my passenger seat doing this this morning on my way to work. I glanced over and it was really bouncing.

NewEdgeForMe
So either all of our tires are out of balance, right from the factory, or there is an issue with the seat itself. My tires sure don't seem out of balance to me. Nice smooth ride, no pulling from the steering wheel. Could be that the drivers seat would do the same, but I can't exactly test that theory. sabasigh
Could be that the drivers seat would do the same, but I can't exactly test that theory. One time i got hard on the brakes and felt my driver's seat shift forward a bit. I recall a few posts or something about play in the driver's seat track as well. goatee
Oh definitely yes. The rocking sensation you feel is deemed normal for Fords. Both of my Explorers 91 and 99 as well as by 2008 Edge had this issue. I live in a hilly region, coming to a complete stop at the bottom of the hill, I would always feel the rocking. I had all of them looked at and there was no structural issue found. Of course being chubby doesn't help as well. If you feel uncomfortable though have the dealer look at it and have it noted in the vehicle's service record. I am waiting for my 2011 Edge to do the same thing as I don't think seat track design changes.

Had vibration in front passenger seat too. Put seat in full upright position and vibration went away.
k1200rsport
Well seat does vibrate but I had noise at times and that culprit was seat belt, when I buckled the seat belt (no passenger in seat), the rattling noise went away.
