  1. Some phones just don;t work as well as others, check syncmyride for suggested phones for the carrier you are using. Had problems with our MKS, changed to preferred phones, now all is fine.
  2. :happy feet: Great job, space put to good use. I guess if you wanted to get fancy, you could go to any Auto supply store, buy some inexpensive trunk liner, spray adhesive, and knock your socks off ! :shades:
  3. Fingerprints I can handle, how about the anti-glare feature ?
  4. True, with all manufacturers, many parts come offshore, and yes, many imports are now manufactured in the U.S.A., but with foreign cars/trucks/whatever, the profits go oversea's, with American vehicles, the good old U.S.A. benefits !!! As Lee Greenwood said "God Bless The U.S.A." ! :hyper:
  5. Have to agree on repairs, costs have gone up on all cars, but friends/relatives that have foreign cars, spend WAY MORE on simple maintenance visits spend tons more. A friend has a Lexus RX350, when he had his 15,000 mile service, it was oil/tires/multi point inspection, ran him $160 and change. Exact same service on my wife's MKS ran thirty something dollars !
  6. Don't know the exact savings mpg wise, but remember one thing - with the Ecoboost engine, you can only get FWD, N O T AWD. Joe
  7. Good tip, I'm sure others will benefit. Wish I could ask if they could build me a MKX with the Jukebox audio, where I can download cd's. My wife's MKS has this, and we love it. I'm not into loading cd's to players or sticks, guess I'm "old School". Think I will wait until 2012 models come out, maybe some new and exciting colors. Right now, my preference is Ingot silver or white, both with black interior. What is the number to call Ford ? Thx. Joe
  8. Hey thinguy, lets leave candy out of the topic. I took an extended coverage plan out on my Explorer back in '06, worth every penny ( 5yr/75,000-cost /$1.100). I would think that a maint plan for, say 4 years wouldn't be more than $400-$500. Heck, our Lincoln dealership charges twenty something bucks for a oil change, tires rotate every 7,500 miles, and air filters, what should the cost amount too???
  9. :shades: Vote added, come on fellow members, lets give Mr. Westfield a helping hand :hyper: , especially NJ members. Joe
  10. Enjoy your new set of wheels, must be a big change from the Explorer. I had a '95 Explorer, sold it to friends back in '02 for their daughter. This past Saturday, she turned 200,000 miles. I sold it to them with 140,000 miles, drove quite a bit back then. What color, options did you get? The best with your new Edge. Joe
  11. I feel the same, the CRV is more comparable to an Escape. As a matter of fact, a few months ago, a friend that had FMC products most of her life, went out and bought a CRV. She likes the CRV, but admits that she should have gone with the Escape. She said the CRV is nice, but feels everything inside is very cheap, xompared to the Escape.
  12. Sounds good, looking to see some pics posted when you get it. Color combo should look great ! Joe
  13. With multi levels of heating, I prefer to have the option of turning them off myself.
  14. I don't know how good these programs are, but people are using them. Try negotiating without mentioning the program, this is end of month time, and salesmen are all looking to get salesman of the month award (most sales). You can usually do best if you take something that they have in stock. The sooner they sell "in stock" vehicles, they eliminate their payout. LOL Joe
  15. :hyper: The Edge, in my book. Then again, I rather support the good old USA instead of the "Pearl Harbor Bombers" !
  16. ???????? Is that what you think of yourself ?????????

    Oil Change

On our MKS, recomended oil change is every 7,500 miles, to keep the warranty valid. Spoke to tech, he said he would change every 5,000 miles, so this is what I have been doing.
  18. :stats: How about EDG GEE :hyper:
  19. I put Goodyear assurance years ago on a Five Hundred my wife had, and was VERY HAPPY with the ride, handling etc. Don't know how they will last, got a new car about 6 month later.
  20. Our dealership ( Maplecrest, Union NJ) said they are now putting nitrogen in tires, psi does nor fluctuate in cold temps like air .
  21. Don't go to the dealer to get the code and pay any money. My sister in law bought a used Fird fie hundred last year, did not have keyless entry code, the dealer wanted $99 to get the code for her, this was Loman Ford in Woodbridge, NJ. Our Lincoln dealership ( Maplecrest, Union NJ :hyper: ) did it for free, but I googled How to get Keyless code for Ford 500, and it said it was under fuse box under the dashboard. Joe
  22. We had the same problem with my wife's 09 MKS. Turns out, thet had to replace trans sensors, now all is well. When it did bang into gear, it felt as if we were jsut rear ended. Here is a list of replaced sensors: AA5Z-7M101-B SENSOR 538-295 7T4Z-7B210-A PIN - R 231298 AA5Z-7H103-A SENSOR 479975 9E9Z-7H557-B SENSOR 446858 I realize that this is for a MKS, not a Edge oe MKX, but if you pass this info on to service, it might give them a heads up. Hope it helps. Joe
  23. From what I can see, you bought it at Tom's Ford, Keyport NJ ? We delt with them for 17 years, switched to a MKS in '09, before Tom's started with Lincolns. Maplecrest FLM in Union is excellent, and we were also happy at Tom's. Sal in service has always been helpful.
