You could check with navigation.com - they supply the maps to Ford. They don't show one online but you could call and ask or email them.

It's possible the replacements aren't being installed properly by the dealers.

You'll have to check with a Ford dealer to see if they have a SD card. http://www.ssa.ford.com/en/nga/dealer-locate

Did the vehicle come from Canada when you bought it or are you just saying it was built in Canada and you bought it used in Nigeria?

Check crutchfield.com - Infinity Kappas and Polk Audio are good choices and not too expensive.

Cold air intake or just K&N for better fuel economy?
akirby replied to rltrbill's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
More air into the engine always requires more fuel - no way around that. "Breathing easier" is also a myth. The only thing that matters is the volume of air and the density (oxygen content). A freer flowing intake, filter and exhaust simply allows MORE air to enter and exit the engine. An engine is nothing more than an air pump - the more air you can get in and out the more power you can make. There is no "drag" on the engine based on the intake or exhaust. It's strictly the oxygen content of the air that gets pulled in when the valves open. -
Fairly common but they're not advertised except through TSBs or recalls. It's not adding new features so unless you're having a specific problem you don't really need an update.

Could be as simple as they found a torque gun on the assembly line that malfunctioned and they need to go back and check the torque on the bolts that were tightened by that gun. That wouldn't be a long delay though. Could also be a batch of parts that were found to be out of spec and they're waiting on replacements from the supplier. Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a new model. If you order a vehicle from the factory this is always a possibility.

You typically won't get one unless you report a problem and there is a ECU (PCM) update that addresses it. Most dealers won't just update it without a reason.

I was talking about the pre production protoypes they take to dealers before the vehicle is actually released.

2015 Edge is not just a redesign - it's an entirely new platform (shared with the 2013+ Fusion). The vast majority of the problems with MFT occured in the first 2 years (and they were really bad initially). Since 3.7 came out it's been very stable with only a few minor issues. If you're not dead set on sync 3 and some of the new features there is nothing wrong with MFT. I would expect that you may have to have one or two things repaired down the road - but probably under warranty. Then again that could also happen with a 2016. We're waiting for a 2016 to get sync3.

Thanks! I try....

Demo units can be built right now. They don't come off the normal assembly line.

2013 Ford Edge SEL Eco Boost Mod Ideas
akirby replied to Tyler Bailey's topic in EcoBoost Mod & Tech
A tuner like SCT is the only way to get any meaningful performance gains. Don't bother with the exhaust except for sound purposes. -
When my older brother worked at a local family owned furniture store the delivery pickup (76 F100) sprung a leak in a radiator hose out in the country (this was in rural south Georgia). Sofas used to ship with big rubber bands to hold up the skirt around the bottom so there were always a dozen or so lying on the dash. They were able to wrap a couple of those rubber bands around the hose enough to hold water until they got back to town. The owner (who was also the father of my brother's delivery companion) looked at it and said "I think that will hold for awhile." He was a bit stingy to say the least. My brother and his son said umm...no we're going to get a new hose.

Actually you can use the right hand myford display with the right 5-way directional button to change the source from sat 1 to sat 2 to sat 3. Or just hit the voice button and say sat 1 or sat 2 or sat 3. Given the touch screen interface you'd think they could give you the option of having all the presets for a particular source on the screen at one time - 15 or 18.

Ford's problems, for the most part, has been parts issues with suppliers, factory screwups or bad engineering - once fixed these don't normally reoccur. PTUs and door sensors are the exception - they still seem to be failing even with new parts. Hopefully the door sensors in the 2015s are new. So while you may experience a problem with a few specific parts, it's not like the vehicle falls apart or you have a multitude of different things that start failing after 100K or 200K miles. So it depends on how you define reliability.

2009-10 Edge & MKX Recall - Fuel Tank related
akirby replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
What I meant was did the original recall only cover 07-08 therefore this one effectively expands it to the 09-10 models or was the original recall for 09-10 models? I assume it's the former. -
Scary and deadly are 2 different things. Obvously it would be scary. If you take chances and pull in front of other vehicles that are too close to safely stop if your vehicle dies then you're not driving safely. If you drive safely the other vehicle will have plenty of time to stop therefore it's not a "deadly" situation. The only time it should be remotely dangerous is if it happens in the middle of a busy freeway and you're trying to move over to the shoulder. Nothing you can do about that.
