  1. I guess it's possible. Maybe it was a temporary fad. I'd be surprised if they're doing it today. I've never experience that on any tires I've owned including lots of Michelins.
  2. I assume the issue is that DOT only allows 4 lamps on the front at any given point. High beams that use both lamps is 4 total so you can't add the spotlights. I don't think the automakers will have much success with the DOT - I think it will require the general public to demand changes to the lighting regulations.
  3. Rebates vary by zip code and vehicle. Where did you see the $1500 rebate? If they offered you $30K why did you pay $32K?
  4. It's confusing to include rebates with the dealer discount. It's better to negotiate them separately - eg $200 below invoice plus whatever factory rebates are available. Otherwise you may confuse a factory rebate for a dealer discount and pay too much. I just did a X plan build and price for a 2015 Edge 2.0L EB SEL w/201a package and nothing else. With $2,075 in rebates the X plan price is $30,845. You should be able to negotiate a price between $30,500 and $31,500. MSRP $34,995.
  5. I don't think they vary the material by tread depth - which model Michelins?
  6. You could put that book in the glove compartment AND make it available online as a PDF for convenient access and search functions!
  7. Why doesn't Ford put that and other information about the vehicle features in some kind of manual that owners can read?
  8. No way to know if rebates will change. Have you contacted Ford to see if they can find one for you? It's an option on the build and price website. No way you'll find 5% below invoice - that's below actual dealer cost and below employee pricing. Not counting incentives of course. You might be able to get a few hundred below invoice but that will be rare especially when you add in the doc fee.
  9. Ford has Adaptive LED headlamps on the MKX and other Lincoln vehicles - I don't think they were offered on the Edge.
  10. The 2011+ Explorer has 41.4 inches of headroom - more than Edge or pre-2011 Explorer.
  11. I'm just going to pretend I didn't see the last 2 posts.........
  12. I don't think there were any major problems with the 2008 Explorer, but I don't know if it gives you more headroom. I suggest testing it with your sheepskin seat cover to be safe. It is a very different vehicle though. It's heavier, louder and won't handle as well as the Edge.
  13. They're only rated for 100 lbs. and should work fine for anything less than that.
  14. Like any online review, you have to look at the big picture. The survey comparisons and rankings at tirerack are pretty good - just make sure that the tire has a good number of miles driven. Also understand that there can be 2 or 3 or more different versions of the same tire model for different vehicles and they can perform differently.
  15. And still no on track videos.........SMH.......
  16. The latest MFT update lets you use Siri by holding the voice button for 3 seconds.
  17. Should be 5x7/6x8 like all Fords. Crutchfield should know for sure.
  18. Been used on hybrids for years with no problems. It's even on the new F150. It's designed to work that way with special components. You can disable it if you don't like it.
  19. So you think cars should come with a lifetime warranty against all defects? Are you willing to pay an extra $3K for that privilege?
  20. It wouldn't have the S or the buttons on the shifter if it wasn't supposed to have it.
  21. That would be hard to do - they're pretty beefy and they go on and off very easily. They are a PITA though. Especially the one day I did all 3 vehicles at once (all 3 had shields).
  22. You also won't get the sync voice control for any of the navigation functions. If you just want to use the integrated touch screen it should work ok.
  23. Once you have two programmed keys you can add more. Only the dealer can delete a key.
