  1. 2015 edge is getting the new hard buttons either way so that shouldn't be the issue. It probably just depends on whether the new stuff was ready in time for the 2015 edge.
  2. Yep - 911 was not part of sync originally. I think it was added with version 2.0 or 2.1
  3. My source said the software would be backwards compatible with MFT. I think the article is referring to sync only vehicles not being compatible which makes sense. And every sync and MFT update so far has been free. Obviously there is new hardware. I like the wifi auto updates and the new more traditional menu will help public perception a lot. I think the unconventional quadrant menu led to a lot of the confusion even though to me it was intuitive.
  4. If this is the easy entry feature try moving the seat all the way forward and all the way back, then hit the memory button again.
  5. So you just forgot that you also had your APIM replaced in the same timeframe that you changed your phone? That's what we IT folks call "pertinent information"!
  6. Yep - I think a new device defaults to 911 off and you have to re-enable it.
  7. California emissions warranty covers additional parts not covered by the Federal emissions warranty but it's only good for 7 yrs/70K miles. So 85K you're on your own.
  8. I don't think they extended the warranty. It's covered under the 8 yr 80K mile emissions warranty.
  9. How did a $500 rebate on a new vehicle help get you a loaner for your old one?
  10. I don't have it. Do a forum search or a google search.
  11. It's about an inch smaller in circumference. It's possible but there is a known problem with this symptom that they should fix first. There is a TSB.
  12. On vehicles with a tranny cooler you can use the cooler lines to swap out almost all the fluid in one shot including the torque converter. It's not a "flush" so it won't do any damage - it just uses the normal operation of the pump and the cooler to replace old fluid with new as it goes to and from the cooler. Dealers have machines that do it or you can do it yourself with some 5 gallon buckets and rubber tubing.
  13. If it's already gone to Ford and Ford denied it based on the pictures provided then another dealer won't/can't help.
  14. CPO already comes with a warranty.
  15. It's safer with the CPO warranty and since you like the dark blue better I'd lean that way unless it has some serious problems.
  16. There weren't a lot of new features in the sync releases - mostly bug fixes.
  17. Oops - I think these posts were meant for the battery topic. Unfortunately I can't move them for some reason.
  18. I've never had a battery last more than 3 - 3.5 years, sometimes less. That goes for OEM and replacements. I don't even bother with the expensive multi-year warranty batteries any more. I just buy the $100 ones at Advance auto parts every 3 years or so. And I replace it as soon as it dies the first time - no need to waste time trying to save it. It will fail again.
  19. Sometimes you get a bad rep. I'm sure Tricia will be able to help one way or the other.
  20. Yes - the owner's manual should tell you how to drive it to reset the flag for emissions testing. In the U.S. you can get a replacement battery for $100 with free installation. Did you check other auto parts stores?
  21. Don't do it yourself - the local auto parts store will most likely install it for you for free and they can hook it up to a temp battery source while they do it so you don't lose any programming. If you do it yourself it should be fine but the biggest issue is it sets a flag and will not pass an emissions test (obd-II) until you have driven for awhile. Don't know if that's a problem in Canada or not.
  22. I use itunes export which I think creates mu3 playlist files and it works fine. If the format is correct it probably means the path to the filenames are invalid. I had the problem recently when I tried to export the playlists and music files separately - the playlists were blank. If you're using itunes then "itunes export" - freeware - works great. If you still can't get it to work I can do an export and show you the format.
  23. There are certain patterns that show up in glass when it shatters from stress or a defect as opposed to an impact. This is usually obvious if you know what you're looking for. So either Ford saw those patterns and said something hit it or the dealership is lying. Unfortunately it's difficult to find out the truth unless you were able to take it to a different dealer to have them check it. This is the problem with dealers being independent businesses and not Ford owned. Only thing you can do is check with Ford and make sure they actually got the pictures and denied the claim but as you found out that's dificult.
