  1. We ended up wanted to know because I knew my wife. She would have pretended to be OK with a gender neutral room but I was sure once the kid was out I would be doing it again wasting more time and money. In the end it is personal preference but the way we looked at it was either way you had a surprise, just that one way it is revealed earlier.
  2. Cellbine...depending on your kid they might like the extra rumble. I had removed two of my three cats and a cat back exhaust on my previous car it had a great sound to it. Was worried before the little guy came that it would be too loud for him to sleep but I think it actually helped. He always slept better in my subie than the Audi. But if your luck is like mine you'll use that as a selling point and find out your kid likes it quiet.
  3. try Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=ford+edge+wheels+3847&_sacat=0&_odkw=ford+edge+wheels+oem&_sop=15&_osacat=0
  4. I also added the travel link services without traffic for 1.99/mo...I think the total for 6 months with music was just over 40 bucks. I opted not to get the traffic since it would have been another 25 bucks and we rarely used it before and when we did we found the data was not as timely as we would like.
  5. Just renewed with the 6 for 25 deal, used a citi card virtual credit card number that I put a max dollar amount on and set it to expire in 2 months.
  6. Ha ha...my immature side came out when I looked at your location. Reminds me of the laugh I get ever time i am on the NY thruway...Climax NY is right next to Coxsakie...how appropriate. Anyway, I am going to the OBX at the end of summer but that is still a ways off and don't know if I would have the room for wheels. Just checked UPS and shipping will likely be ~$25 each. Anytime I look at shipping some wheels it seems like it is about break even with getting a set of cheap 18's with snows from TR mounted and balanced. I could justify breaking even if they were the same as our stockers so I could have a back up if she curbs them but her's are the chrome clad 18's.
  7. Possibly but shipping tends to kill any deal.
  8. Nice...good to know since we may want to get another set of wheels for winters.
  9. Well I believe that TSB also mentions reprogramming a control module for the trans...this definitely can be done without wiping your MFT data. What I am not sure about is if your mention of "computer reset" refers to the TSB or an issue you discussed about the MFT. If it is the MFT I do recall an option in the new version that allows you to reset the system to factory defaults but keep phone pairing or something like that. Not sure what it clears or doesn't. But like I said that dealer just sounds like a problem.
  10. I know what you mean...just thought it was funny. But again, not having seen this other film I don't know what it looks like and other films I have seen that claim higher rejection seem to be more reflective (visually) and I am not sure I want that. In NJ any tint on the front windows is illegal and if the officer can't see in you are more likely to get pulled over. My last car had 35% all around and only once in 5 years got pulled over for tint. Got plenty of tickets for it but most of the time the officer was nice enough to right up the ticket for tint rather than speeding. I did some google image searches but think tint really looks different in person. I guess if I can't confirm if the windows truely are laminated or not I should just go with it because replacing the glass later will be much more expensive.
  11. Wow I would find another dealer. If they won't provide you with service records it makes me think things are a bit shady. As for the MFT not being reset...unless you had them do something to that system they can communicate with other modules and reprogram w/o affecting the MFT. Also even if they did something with the MFT I beleive there is a setting now to reset w/o wipping data.
  12. First I find it funny you say reflectivity is irrelevant but then say heat is either REFLECTED or retained in the car. If you are referring to my reference to some tints being more reflective I am referring to the visual look of them not necessarily what they are doing with the solar radiation. Anyway, from various tinting sources they specifically state certain films are not suitable for laminate windows because they can cause heat stress issues. The quote from my installer was, "Cheap tint absorbs too much heat and doesn't distribute it evenly across the glass. When too much heat accumulates in one spot it can make the laminate layer contract which puts a lot of stress on the glass and could crack it." Basically he didn't think either one would be a problem but again I am not even sure if these windows are laminated.
  13. Well if it is laminated film I thought you should be using something that reflects more heat out and doesn't absorb much. I thought if it absorbed too much heat you can delaminate the windows. In the past this installer has used Madico Charcool on my car and it was great over the 5+ years I owned it. No fading or turning purple and it looked great. So I could get the same done now but I am not sure if it rejects enough heat. In his email he said they could also do Madico (Lintec) Wincos which rejects more heat. It isn't much more but I have found some of these tints that reflect more tend to have a bluish color and are more reflective looking.
  14. The bigger issue is the increase in the spring rate that lowering springs typically have. Since they are typically stiffer the shock has to try to slow down that extra force to maintain control. Often they just aren't valved correctly and you see those slammed Civics bouncing all over since the springs are too stiff. The offerings for the Edge are probably pretty mild so chances are you'd just give up a little longevity. But since yours have 70k it might not be a bad idea to at least price a complete swap since you'll be doing an alignment anyway.
  15. Well he quoted two different prices depending on laminated vs non laminated. I had great results with the cheaper material on my last car so If I don't need to spend the extra money I can use it elsewhere on the vehicle. Besides I haven't seen the other tint so I don't know if it is super reflective or what it final appearance would be.
  16. Did some more research and still coming up unsure. From what I have read AS2 can be laminated glass but it would use 0.015" thick laminate or it could just be tempered. But from other sites it seems to indicate that tempered glass should say that somewhere on it. Also, I seem to remember a conversation with DIngo where he mentioned that the SE and SEL do not have laminated side windows but the LTD and Sport do. So I did a search on fordparts.com, couldn't find door glass for the Sport but the LTD seems to call for the same P/N (21410) as the SEL and SE. Thoughts?
  17. OK...hoping I can get some clarification here. I have seen several posts indicating that the front side windows are laminated and in one thread Dingo posted several pictures of the edge of the glass. My front windows look much the same so when I contacted my tint guy I mentioned this to him. He said he contacted Ford and his tint supplier and they did not think the windows were laminated. I then noticed another picture Dingo posted that had the code AS1, mine says AS2. According to this site AS1 is laminated and AS2 is not. So all signs point to not laminated but if I make the wrong decision it could cost a lot more later. Just concerned because the code site doesn't seem to official so I would like to get some confirmation.
  18. Well at least they are looking into it and at least the Mexican didn't have other effects.
  19. I am sure they have the 3D, it seems like a normal diagnostic tool they use. Most of my friends here had at least one done and they weren't under special observation. But yeah it was really cool, we knew from 2 days. So we have ultrasounds from lima bean stage right up to a week before delivery.
  20. Has anyone pulled their mic out? I tried to take a quick look at this over the weekend and while the mic pops out of the headliner easy enough the connector doesn't pull through. I tried to feel around but the opening is too small for my sausage fingers. I also tried to pull the edge of the headliner back a bit but noticed that ford doesn't finish the edge of the liner so I really don't want to mess with it unless I know I am in the right spot. So if anyone has removed it please let me know how you got to the conenctor.
  21. Was just at the SMR site and noticed the following notice, wonder if the update will follow. Please note: SYNC Owner will NOT be available beginning Tuesday, June 26, 10:00 PM to Wednesday, June 27, 6:00 PM (EDT).
  22. Hey congrats and enjoy the journey. It can be crazy at times...she will usually be...but it is pretty freaking cool. Definitely recommend getting a 3D ultrasound too. My wife has RA so she was getting ultrasounds almost every week and 3D's every time. Was so cool to see the transformation and it is pretty crazy that you can see what their face looks like before they come out. Again, congrats and best of luck.
  23. I haven't heard of many cases of this happening but I do believe you have a spot in the arm rest to put your key if the smart key is not functioning correctly. You might want to give it a shot just to put your mind at ease. But either way I would schedule a trip to the dealer to let them look at it and get it on the record. Also I believe there is a fix for the tailgate opening on its own. Again I would get this put on the service record just in case you have the problem again later.
  24. Thought someone out there might be looking for a small flash drive for music, this one is only 16GB but is only $8.95 with free shipping. The retailer is Adorama and manufacturer is Kingston so both are good. Here is teh link for those who are interested: http://www.adorama.com/KGDTMC16GBBK.html
  25. That was what I was referring to above by virtual CC number...there are several companies that offer them. But a tip to those that use them...make sure you can pick a max dollar amount or pick an expiration prior to your renewal. I have forgotten to cancel as Ladybird mentions to do and it becomes more of a hassle later.
