  1. I would try to run them without the relay harness. I had a cheap harness that was to long and the wire gauge was way to thin to run both ballasts. If it works fine without the harness, I would still purchase a quality harness or rebuild your cheap harness with 14 gauge wire. I ran my 35 watt kit off the stock wires for about a week before installing my rebuilt cheapo harness.
  2. I wish I would have put that Clear-Bra stuff on my 2011 chrome grill when I got it. After 20,000 miles, mine is showing lots of little chips.
  3. Very good post that most can learn from. My 11 FWD SEL does about the same. The idiot gauge just showed me 28.3 when I got back from a 478 mile highway trip. Any vehicle can get better mpg if ya know how to drive for it. I kinda make it into a game to see how well I can do. Been keeping her over 22 in the city!!!!
  4. I also have a 2011 Mediterranean Blue SEL. Why don't you use mine instead of yours for these modifications!!!!!!!! Looks like she's gonna be really nice!
  5. Anyone else have the little trim piece around the hatch handle come up? It just popped out on one side for no reason and I can't get it to snap back in. Thinking a clip broke inside. Gonna take it in when I get a chance but just wanted to see if anyone else has noticed a problem.
  6. Seems like the best of each type of product is made by different brands. There are a few companies that come close to a "One stop shop" like Zaino and Duragloss. So far, I've liked every Duragloss product that I've tried. I think the best approach is to read lots of reviews on the many detailing forums online.
  7. Maybe stiff or firm would be a better description. Driving on Michigan roads is a really good test for any suspension. The roads are so bad here that I've noticed my 2011 Edge is starting to get some dash rattles with less then 20,000 miles on her. My 2010 Edge was definitely tuned for a much smoother ride. I love my 11 but wish she was tuned for a softer ride.
  8. No doggy here but I picked up a nice soft pet liner that I use more then I thought I would. Gives me full coverage with the seats folded down and came with a nice carrying case. Works great for my many hunting and fishing adventures! I picked mine up at Meijer but I would think most big pet stores would have some nice ones.
  9. The cloth seats in my 2011 SEL are some of the most comfortable I've ever had. Soft with great lower back support. Awesome for someone like me with a bad lower back.
  10. A, you must never have owned an F150 or Explorer. After the balljoints failed, I always replaced them with greaseable Moogs. It is possible to stop a factory balljoint from squeaking with a grease needle after they are dry but by then it's usually to late. Old grease kinda turns into a thick mud-like substance that doesn't lubricate very well.
  11. Agree with the jittery ride but the Edge having "pronounced road noise" is a ridiculous claim. I've driven the Highlander, Murano and CX-9 and they all have much more road noise then my 11 SEL. Maybe they tested it on a gravel road!!!!!
  12. How durable is that stuff? Sun fade, bugs, washings and rock chips.
  13. I think most auto companies have decided that zerk fittings are not good for their replacement part profits. Grease needles can by your friend if you want to extend the life of factory balljoints and tierods.
  14. Not a good idea to use old pads with new rotors. It's best to replace both at the same time. I've always had great luck with cheap rotors and very good pads. Not to crazy about brake dust so I always use Raybestos Blues or Wagner Thermoquiets.
  15. $43.00 shipped from Advance Auto with coupon code A123. Just add a $3.00 filler to get the $20.00 off $50.00.
  16. Richy, Is there a good reason to use CQ instead of Zaino Z2 or Duragloss 601/105? I seem to get about 4 to 6 months out of the Z2 which is plenty of time to make it through the winters here.
  17. I think the wrap around AVS is installed by taping it to the hood which I'm not to crazy about. I have not seen a hood deflector on a 2011+ but I would guess that the rubber weatherstrip that seals the front of the hood super tight would have to be removed. I had a AVS Bugflector 2 on my 2010 but I think a strip of the clear bra stuff is the way to go on the newer Edge's.
  18. NY, any chance you could take a few pics of the low beam pattern against a wall? If it looks good, a buddy of mine might go with low beam HIDs on his 2010. Is that just the camera or do your HIDs have a little green tint to them?
  19. Man it's nice to be an old Do-it-Yourselfer! Not sure why there is ever a need for an alignment unless parts are replaced or ya had an accident.
  20. Maybe if you replaced the fluted plastic lens with an amber dome that hung down at least a 1/2 inch. It still would not be in the best position but would probably work decent. I agree that they don't do much but they look pretty cool with an LED swap.
  21. Gonna pull it this weekend and see if there is a good way to shim the housing. Thinking I might be able to slip a washer on a mounting stud or something. Anyone here ever pull a headlight housing out on a 2011+?
  22. I would fight tooth & nail for a new vehicle!
  23. Any way to make horizontal adjustments to a 2011's headlights? My passenger side seems to be aimed way to far left.
  24. My 2011 SEL FWD just got 28.3 mpg on a 600 mile trip. About 200 miles at 74mph and the other 400 at around 64mph. This is according to the idiot gauge and it was all highway. The realtime MPG readout can really help drivers achieve the best possible mileage. I average about 23mpg in mixed driving.
