  1. KC, I'm still waiting for you to document a HID installation ! :D I really want to add HIDs to my 11 but I'm just not sure how durable these low-cost aftermarket kits are.
  2. I've looked and looked but just don't see anywhere to mount a set of lights on my 2011. KC made a cool little lightbar for the 10 and down but they have not listed one for the 11 yet. It may be possible to cut the lower black insert to mount a set of small lights. Would not look great but I would love to find a way to mount my set of PIAA's on the Edge.
  3. Takes about 15 minutes per side and yes, the 2011 factory speakers are the cheapest junkers I've ever seen. There are a few good threads on here about taking the door panels off. It's worth picking up a pair of the inexpensive aftermarket speaker harnesses so ya don't have to cut any wires. Infinity makes a few speakers with a tweeter that swivels which can make a huge difference in sound quality if you aim them properly. I just did the fronts cuz I don't like any highs coming from the rear.
  4. I put an old set of 6 1/2's (Infinity 652i) in the front doors of my 2011 without any problems.
  5. I've always handled trans fluid changes a little different then most. I drop the pan and do a filter change every 30,000 miles. In between filter changes, I suck out about 3 qts through the dipstick tube and replace with the same amount every 10,000 miles. This method has worked very well for me over the years and I've never had any trans problems with any of the many Fords I've owned. I never liked the idea of a complete fluid exchange without changing the filter.
  6. I went with 4 of these for the rear dome and cargo lights: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/42mm-2w-6500k-126-lumen-9-smd-led-white-light-bulb-for-car-dc-12v-51376 Four of these for the Map and plate: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-5-SMD-LED-T10-168-SUPER-WHITE-WEDGE-LIGHT-BULBS-5050-/330672310551?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item4cfd9b0917 These worked really well for me but others have used different LEDs with good results. There are some great threads on here about led mods.
  7. I think one of the coolest mods you can do to the Edge is changing all the interior and plate bulbs to LED. Less then 20 smackers and lots of great info here about this easy mod.
  8. The Huskys do cover the dead pedal much better then the WTs. What I don't like about the Huskys is that they don't fit well along the door sills. They bow inward which can allow salt and snow to fall between the sill and liner.
  9. A small flat pair of flaps from your local autoparts store will look good and work very well. There are 2 factory screws in the perfect position for the fronts and the Edge really does not need rear flaps. Just trace the pattern of the flap on a piece of paper and mark the holes on the paper first. Flaps are around 6 bucks a set and it takes about 10 minutes to install them.
  10. You will get the LED light bars I get around 20-21 city and 24-26 highway ( I control the pedal for good MPG) My 2011 SEL came with a single CD which can play MP3 formatted discs I don't have SYNC but it's a cool option (wish I had the USB port)
  11. The puddles look really bright. I take it they fit without any trimming? It would be really easy for me to take mine back apart and slip in a set of 6 5050s instead of the current 4s I have. Probably gonna order a set of 6's a little later today.
  12. Well, had a chance to compare the Huskys to the Weather techs. The WTs fit and look way better. The Huskys fit OK and will do a very good job protecting the carpet so I'm gonna keep them unless I find a good deal on the WTs. I would also say that the Huskys are a great deal at less then half the price of the WTs.
  13. I would guess that Ford and other auto companys do have employees who's jobs are to watch forums such as this. They might not participate but their job is to look for potential issues and chart feedback about their products and services. Just a guess but it does make a lot of sense when you think about it.
  14. Those puddle lamp leds will be really bright but they might be to wide to fit. Hope they work for ya! I've got the same ones you ordered for my plate/maps and they are really nice. Make sure you let us know how those reverse leds work out. Did you order the festoons for the cargo light and rear dome yet? The ones I got from Dealextreme are awesome.
  15. Agree 100% on the fog lights!!! My 2011 could really use a dash storage compartment or at least a tray. Can't stand the hidden center console storage area!!!!!!!
  16. If it helps ya, I found that the smd 5050 leds are a decent amount brighter. Here's a link to the style I purchased. I purchased both types and compared them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-31mm-DE3022-DE3175-4-SMD-5050-LED-Bulb-Xenon-White-6428-6430-/260869112887?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cbd02c437
  17. I know some don't like the look of the roof rack rails on their Edges. Anyone have a set they removed and want to get rid of? I'm in Michigan.
  18. Not sure which product to use. I just watched the application video of the pre-cut one that Husky sells and it looks pretty easy to do. Gotta do a little more internet research still.
  19. Anyone ever try doing this themselves? If so, what product and how did it turn out? I'm pretty good at doing this kinda stuff and just want to do about 6 inches across the hood.
  20. 5.5 quarts puts my 2011 3.5 oil level dead center in the cross hatched area of the dipstick, right where it is supposed to be.
  21. Thanks for all the info!!! Just ordered a set of black ones from Streetside. $52.00 with a coupon code and free shipping. Gonna compare them to the Weather Techs that my buddy just got for $100.00. I'll let ya know my conclusions.
  22. choff, any chance you could post the Husky part #? The Husky website lists the same stock number for the 2010 and 2011 but the 10 has one mounting tab and the 11 has two on the drivers side. Do your liners just have an indentation where the mounting tabs are or do they actually have holes that mount to the factory tabs?
  23. Gimp, why did you have to trim them? You have the front Liners and not just mats, right? The Husky number is 33291.
  24. Would like to hear from those that went with the Husky Liners over the Weather Techs for the front. Do they fit pretty good? I'm getting ready to order them for my 2011 SEL. 50 some bucks and free shipping from Streetside sounds like a pretty good deal. My 11 has the two mounting tabs on the drivers side so I'm gonna pull the carpet up to remove them.
  25. Only one way to find out! Please let us know.
