It's true that Toyota has a MUCH better history if reliability, but they have had a lot of quality problems this year. In fact, Toyota CEO Wantanabe (spelling?) bowed his head in shame in recognition of such. Ford was downgraded to junk status (on one level or another) many months ago. They can't go down much further on Wall Streets ratings. That is, unless they released the Edge before it was ready. And they did not do that. Automotive News covered why the Edge is running late in an article HERE. The buzz around Detroit is that Ford simply did the right thing and everyone expects the Edge to follow in the quality foot steps of the Fusion.

I agree with Frank. I was highly skeptical of the Ford Fusion's delays, however, it has not suffered from any recalls though It's hard to continue waiting week after week for a vehicle that many have depended on being in their driveway already. On the other hand, I don't think anyone wants to take a new vehicle back for recalls right after they get it. Moreover, Ford can no longer afford to operate with the "let the dealer fix it" mindset. There are some people that are pissed off because they have not received their Edge yet and that's not good no matter how you word it. But, we should all happy that Ford is changing they way they do business.

We're on the same page. Americans live for short term perosnal gratification. Chinese society, on the other hand has long term national goals that go behind the life span of generations. We're so adamantly opposed to oppressive governments, but we are borrowing billions of dollars from China? Sorry, but the ticker is on and the game is over As some say, the Chinese have the eye of the tiger and we have lost it long ago. We are now just riding off of the backs of the last of the WWII generation. Hail to Wal-Mart and all of those $1.00 stores packed with everything - that's NOT made in North America. :titanic:

I've read those articles. I think there is another one stating the same thing. I suppose in the end, potential consumers who read the reviews won't be pleased when several articles state the brakes are not up to snuff. But I wonder if this whole issue is over-blown?

Can this Frank guy actually take this product out without Ford corporate taking notice and stepping it? Kinda hard to believe.
