  1. It appears that some of the management at the Ford Edge plant (Oakville) have been given the boot :chairshot: Check out this link.
  2. We're on the same page. Americans live for short term perosnal gratification. Chinese society, on the other hand has long term national goals that go behind the life span of generations. We're so adamantly opposed to oppressive governments, but we are borrowing billions of dollars from China? Sorry, but the ticker is on and the game is over As some say, the Chinese have the eye of the tiger and we have lost it long ago. We are now just riding off of the backs of the last of the WWII generation. Hail to Wal-Mart and all of those $1.00 stores packed with everything - that's NOT made in North America. :titanic:
  3. 50 YEARS! Who are you kidding! I'd give it LESS than 20 years.
  4. I've read those articles. I think there is another one stating the same thing. I suppose in the end, potential consumers who read the reviews won't be pleased when several articles state the brakes are not up to snuff. But I wonder if this whole issue is over-blown?
  5. Can this Frank guy actually take this product out without Ford corporate taking notice and stepping it? Kinda hard to believe.
  6. I agree with you. It appears that Dearborn is not communicating with their dealer body or the dealer body isn't relaying this info. to the customers. I think this is the third cancellation I've seen on this board, which is not good at all.
  7. Ford Edge delayed articles: Ford pushes back Edge, MKX launch. Read the article here. Ailing Ford's crucial Edge crossover is running late. Read the article here. If the Edge is delayed a few weeks for quality measures. it's ok with me Considering the Fusion, MKZ and Milan quality is rather better than the Accord and Camary, I'd rather wait the few extra weeks for a vehicle with similar quality from Ford. :yup: Today, Jaguar and Lincoln are both in the top three for dealer satisfaction.
  8. CLICK HERE, there are a few 3.5L engines in the press release section.
  9. White won't be offered on the Edge. You are right, the colors are not exact.
  10. Yep, I agree here. Traditionally, Ford shipped cars out with issues that the dealer had to fix. This no longer seems to be the case at Ford. One only has to look at the success of the Fusion, Milan and Zephyr to see this. If it takes Ford a few extra weeks to iron these issue out, I am good with that. This does suck for people who need their Edge NOW, but this is a long term effort by Ford this must be applaued. The USA Today article points out that even Toyota delays launches these days.
  11. Ford Delays Delivery Of Edge Crossover I stand corrected on the "It has always been December" statement. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
  12. I think what happened is that dealers eager for a sale were giving out un-realistic dates. Edge orders were always planned to start arriving the first week of December. Is there a memo out there that dealers received that says otherwise?
  13. Ford updated their site. Click on downloads for Mac & PC screensavers HERE.
  14. Aside from Edmunds, there is another magazine that reported on the Edge's brakes as not being up to par. I cannot remember which one right now though. Then again, magazines have attacked the Fusion's 3.0L engine as being weak while owners themselves are happy with it.
  15. Ford has said that they should begin arriving at dealers this December (2006). Follow page 3 of this thread for the lease topic - we are all waiting for that info.
  16. I started a new topic about comparing the Edge HERE. Here's a scan from Ford World (internal Ford employee magazine), which compares the Edge's top competitors:
  17. I scanned this Image from Ford World (internal Ford employee magazine).
  18. Your issue has to do less with marketing and more with production. Consumers and journalists will be scrutinizing the Edge very critically. With that being said, Ford cannot afford any mistakes and the Edge has to launch without consumers experiencing any problems. I can understand how and why Ford would push back production dates of an entire new model launch in order to get it "right." Ford has said the Edge will arrive at dealers in Decemeber and they have also said they are target to accomplish such.
