  1. Huh? So 101a adds it, but you still dont have it? Do you have a voice control button on the steering wheel?
  2. I must have missed that. Did SE trims not even include Ford Sync? I assume all trim levels had them at a minimum... only SEL and above could have MFT.
  3. You can do it. I responded to you in another thread. Youll need a Sony FCIM and Sony ACM. Youll also be looking to add the A pillar tweeters and subwoofer correct? Youll also need the DSP & amplifier. Any reason you need to go all the way to the Sony system versus just going the Ford Sync3 route?
  4. The biggest thing is that you will need to change the FCIM (i.e. HVAC controls). Heres a good place to start mining information. Its a fusion site but much of the content applies for what you want to do (4 to 8) http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4050

  6. Correct. All the items will display in the IPC once theyre playing, however you can only select BT or USB species from the sync 3 screen itself. Radio, satellite and CD can still be selected from the IPC. Its because the firmware of the IPC is too low to recognize sync 3 impute (cd, radio and XM are part of the ACM and therefore unaffected). No big deal as the hassle for updating firmware is not worth the effort (plus theres no guarantee it would work). Glad the clock worked. Let me know if ambient light is working again. Id i remember, I had to turn it on from within sync menu the very first time and havent touched it since.
  7. You can always try this to fix ambient lighting as well. Although, mine works with the same settings as yours: 7D0-01-02 028B 0200 0A69
  8. It's been awhile, since I tinkered, but here's my final program. Your steering wheel should work with these settings as should your Ambient light. 7D0-01-01 2A21 0002 0127 7D0-01-02 0283 0006 0A6F 7D0-02-01 5753 0B04 C0D3 - If you change 5553 to 5753 you can enter addresses while moving, but, you will lose 911 assist. 7D0-02-02 8240 8000 005D 7D0-02-03 0005 E1 7D0-03-01 0100 0002 00DE 7D0-04-01 0100 0300 09E9 7D0-04-02 0001 DE 7D0-05-01 1BA3 1B9B 2B7C 7D0-05-02 C5A3 7D0-06-01 805E 7D0-07-01 0800 3300 001A 7D0-07-02 0000 186A 0062 7D0-07-03 0056 5686 0013 7D0-07-04 7052 I would keep 7D0-04-01 through 7D0-07-04 alone. Although our vehicles seem very close. I am curious though, if you plug in a USB or use a BT device with music, do you see it on the right hand side IPC panel under entertainment options? I think the firmware on our IPC is too low, so it cannot recognize devices connected through the new APIM and USB hub.
  9. Heres a link to 3.8 (it should still be active, but, I cant check from my phone): http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageNARev2.zip Its directly from fords servers. 1. Just unzip and copy to a USB (FAT32) drive 2. You should have just a "SyncMyRide" folder and "autoinstall.lst" file 3. Start your car, engine must be running throughout the process 4. Plug the USB 5. Let it install Installation can take up to an hour. If you want, heres a link to 3.10. Package checks out as an official ford one, albeit not from fords sever: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OgV-hRT3rQsGcMcga1mLeAOOHVYp7rRI/view Many people have succedully updated to 3.10 using this package without issue (you assume all risk). Same install process.
  10. You have version 2.7 installed. Version 3.8 would be SYNCGen2_3.08.15128 and 3.10 is SYNCGen2_3.10.16180. You can download directly from fords website at syncmyride.com. While you should update to 3.8 (theres no value in paying the dealer for the 3.10 update as it didnt bring any enhancements), unfortunately I wouldnt expect the software update to fix a hardware issue. You can search on the forum for similar camera issues, which, were not related to firmware but rather the camera itself needing replacement.
  11. Do you have a blue wire? That should work.
  12. Makes me wonder if there was an issue with installing the new hub. Did you make sure both the power cable and usb data cable connections were secure?
  13. It was (sorry for not directing it your way). I assumed you had a MFT to Sync 3 conversion, but I missed have read the other response and mentally combined both posts. Have you tried a simple troubleshooting step such as a different lightning cable? Make sure to delete all Bluetooth devices on sync. Also make sure there are no CarPlay profiles in settings. I do believe you have to connect the usb/lightning cable and then hold down voice control button on the steering wheel to link them together. Also, make sure CarPlay is enabled on sync (I know, I feel guilty mentioning it).
  14. Did you re-wire the power for the hub, or use an aftermarket harness (e.g. https://www.4dtech.com/sync-3-retrofit-usb-hub-wiring-adapter-gen-1/ ) Either method is needed for CarPlay to work. And did you go through the setup on the iPhone (settings > General > CarPlay)?
  15. Ive been using an old mirror tap in my edge for my escort for 6 years now. No issues.
  16. Heres a link that explain how to fix your generic card. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/creating-nav-card-backup-391655/ * Make a backup first!!!! * Download (feel free to mirror): http://ul.to/i4fq7mno Howto: 1.) Buy a 64GB SDCard (µSD with SD Adapter is just fine, make sure you have an Android >= 5.0 device which can read this card size!!!) 2.) Format the SDCard with FAT32 (use the fat32formatter.exe in the Tools directory, make sure all Windows Explorers are closed or the program will exit with an error) 3.) Install FordActivator.apk on your Android phone and put SD-Card into the Android device! 4.) Run FordActivator on the Android Phone (>= Android 5.0) 5.) Put SD-Card into PC and first remove all Android Files and Folders! (DO NOT REMOVE SdCard.key!!!!) Just remove everything except the SdCard.key! 6.) Copy all Contents of the original SD to your own created SDCard (DO NOT OVERWRITE SdCard.key!!!!!) 7.) Have fun!
  17. You have the latest version. Run an error check on your SD card in Windows and see if that helps.
  18. Your buyer needs to provide more details. Can he see the compass direction? Where is he seeing no satellites? Is he in diagnostic menu? But yes, he only needs to program to his explorer. Very easy to do as he can download the asbuilt file (.ab) from ford directly and just upload it to the APIM with forscan. If your buyer was expecting just a plug n play, then they misunderstood. ANY replacement APIM (even from the dealer) requires reprogramming.
  19. It will need programming. Theres actually a specific setting for the GPS (IP, roof, off and one other setting) in the APIM configuration. APIM should be compatible with no issues. Who did the forscan?
  20. True. Im willing to agree. But, its still hard to imagine. Sorry if it came across as combative. Wasnt my intention.
