  1. Don't bring logic into this! I didn't think about expanding beyond the scope of forscan programming. You're making a lot of sense over there.
  2. Correct. That BT is the best (Im agreeing with you, not being smug). However, theres no practical reason for the MS-CAN connectivity as theres not real programming changes one can make in forscan. All the APiM, BCM, ACM, etc changes are on the HS-CAN side of things.
  3. You can get your as-built data directly from Ford. Then you can use forscan to upload that data (.abt file) to your replacement APIM. https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt And you can use a Bluetooth or USB adapter. Ive used this one many times without any issues; https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005NLQAHS Heres a recommended USB one: https://www.amazon.com/OHP-ELMconfig-Elm327-Diagnostics-Adapter/dp/B01F0GVBWY
  4. Ive got the power stop Z23 (at least I thinks what it is) kit. Very pleased!

  6. If youve upgraded your 2015 with a sync 3 system, yes. It will need some re-wiring or you can purchase an adapter online to make the new hub work with a sync 3 install.
  7. Hold the fob against your chin and try it! Are you using the combo fob/key starter or a dedicated (standalone) fob? The latter would be a long range version. The ford remote access is a cellular based starter that you can add to the car and use your cell phone to start the car. Your phone acts as an unlimited range fob.
  8. And sorry... Ive been away, dealing with a family emergency. I havent been able to check my programming notes, which are at home.
  9. She loves it. Its a 2010 and shes got almost 140k. Never had a single issue (well, CV joints were replaced under a recall). Shes eyeing up the 2019. We like the third row and use it quite a bit. Its a squeeze to get back there, but, its comfortable when you get in the seat. With two kids, sports, dance, friends, camping etc. everything fits in the car. It made me want to look at the CX-7 as the Ford Edge size SUV is perfect for me. But, I really like the Ford looks. That Acura RDX, though....
  10. Hmmm. Mine is still usable so may not be worth the hassle. If Im being honest, Im really eyeing up one of those new ford rangers. Ruh Roh. But... also considering a 2019 edge. The edge is the perfect mix of form and function for me. That, and it fits in the garage next to my wifes cx-9. Been spoiled with not having to leave the car in the driveway.
  11. Seems like my camera is getting blurry. Might use this just to remove the camera and clean the camera lens and inside of the housing. Hopefully its just some dirt and grime that made its way in over the past 6+ years.
  12. Those are the correct adapters (Metra 72-5600). Yes, you need to reverse polarity.
  13. I just had this issue (hot driver side, cool passenger side). One can of 134a (AC Pro) and back up and running (51 degrees F from vents on max A/C - this may go down after the car sits overnight). Not sure where the leak is, but, Ill have to keep an eye on it.
  14. It seems as though it can be done with ForScan (very easy to use, just do a quick forum search). From looking at similar 2018 Fords (F150 for example) for which Ford IDS was not helpful either: 726-15-01 x*xx xxxx xxxx Feature Cfg Auto Lock1: 0=disable, 1=enabled, 2=INOP 726-15-01 xxx* xxxx xxxx Feature Cfg Auto Lock2: 0=disable, 1=enabled, 2=INOP 726-15-01 xxxx x*xx xxxx Feature Cfg Auto Lock3: 0=disable, 1=enabled, 2=INOP 726-15-01 xxxx xxx* xxxx Feature Cfg Auto Lock4: 0=disable, 1=enabled, 2=INOP 726-15-01 xxxx xxxx x*xx Feature Cfg Auto Lock5: 0=disable, 1=enabled, 2=INOP I believe you can change the value to 0 for each of the modules, when you should be able to DESELECT Auto-Unlock from your IPC menu. 15. You can add the ford cellular remote module to your car and use the ford remote access app.
  16. Sounds about right. In all fairness, I should be sending the wife off to live elsewhere! Anyone have disassembly suggestions?
  17. So... my wife broke my cardinal rule tonight and let the kids have ice cream in the back of my car (her car was being serviced). My daughter spilled her ice cream (it just leaked as she kept proclaiming) inside the rear center cup holders. Its the flip up ones integrated into hrb the center headrest once its folded down. All the ice cream is really in there. Any ideas how to remove the flip covers or take it apart so that I can clean it properly? If not, I have an almost 7 year old that will soon be up for adoption for anyone interested!
  18. They should have no effect on your sync 1 reversion. They are related to the fact that newer model year vehicles have more ACM modules in the program and these are reflected in forscan, globally. If your model years components (ACM, APIM, etc) dont utilize the module, it is ignored, even though it is populated in forscan. The Aux and BT function is related to your APIM coding, not ACM if I recall. Doesnt voice control come from the Sync voice button? Do you have an Aux button?
  19. Is the screen just blank? Are you getting any audio at all? You can try a reboot: press eject button and FF (>>) button, simultaneously, until it reboots. You can try and put the system into diagnostics mode: Hold eject button and right arrow on steering wheel, simultaneously for 10-15 seconds until audio speaker tones start.
  20. Which version did you try to install? Going from 3.0.2 (which is 4.26.12023_PRODUCT) to 3.x should take more than 30-45 minutes at most. If you unplug the harness from the drivers side kick panel fuse box and plug back in, does the system start back up?
  21. A pic would be helpful. I could ask if anyone knows what the wire behind the panel next to my seat goes to?
  22. Ooooooooh. Sorry, I clearly wasnt getting it. Well. Silver lining is that you can go truly aftermarket and add Siri, Alexa, google assistant, etc in lieu of SYNC.
  23. You can always get a VIN for any edge with 18 wheels and just use the asbuilt data for that APIM module value.
