  1. Those part numbers are not telling me anything. Do you have the link to the auction? You will also need to replace the USB hub to have Apple CarPlay enabled. Truthfully, that will negate the need for built-in navigation anyway. You also need the GPS antenna whether or not you have Navigation. This for the compass function. Lastly, if you use Dan’s, jmr61’s or do it yourself, you will need the OBD adapter to upload the program to your APIM. Hope that helps. I can appreciate what you’re doing. I added Sync 3 to a 7 year old car!
  2. Had to replace the camera. The best price I could find, while still making certain is was a legitimate OEM camera, was from here: https://www.acautopartspr.com/oem-parts/ford-rear-camera-bt4z19g490b (I have zero affiliation with them, they just happened to be the cheapest OEM I could find on google). $211 shipped and I got it in 3 days. Used this very informative video, which was perfect, to get it done: Happy to report new camera works perfect, guidelines and all. Took about 45 minutes total, including FORScan programming (reset PAM module and initialized camera). As an added bonus, I am glad to also have the cataracts gone that has been plaguing my camera for over a year (I’ve always just dealt with it). I took a quick shot showing the old vs new camera lens.
  3. Agreed. Even 5 year old maps can get me in the ballpark. Hell, I still keep paper maps for the Tri-state area (that would be NY/NJ/PA) near the spare. I’ve had those since 2002 and they have got me where I need to be as recent as 2 years ago.
  4. V3.10 is build number EA5T-14D544-BA. You seem to have the correct version, albeit with a typo. is it working now after you disconnected the battery and let it hard reset?
  5. I think I was looking into OEM to be able to have the lines (I’m getting old). Can the aftermarket be initialized with proper pinouts now?
  6. The APIM will be compatible. You’ll still need the screen. keep in mind, if you want navigation, you’re better off with a newer APIM as it will have “more recent” maps. 2018+ APIMs will also have the 1.5gb partition which will allow you to run Sync 3.2 and higher (it has a few more bells and whistles). 2016-2017 APIMS have the 1.0gb partition and can only run Sync 3, version 1.0 - 3.0. it doesn’t make a huge difference; just creating awareness.
  7. I just suffered the fate of many other folks. Went to back up yesterday and my guidelines and parking aid indicators were gone. Today, the camera started flickering and a few times would only show blue, then black solid color (entire screen). Used forscan and I am getting a DTC for the camera module. I then re-initialized the camera (local network interface module in BdyBMC). The lines and aid indicators immediately came back. Shut off car and on and put car in reverse again. No lines. Re-initialized again and they’re back. Let’s see how long this lasts. Looks like I may be ordering a $300 camera. Ugh.
  8. Where did you purchase the navigation SD cars (A10) from? The A10 card worked before your brakes were done and now, it doesn’t?
  9. You need the new screen and the apim to upgrade MFT to Sync 3. The MFT screen is NOT compatible with the newer APIM.
  10. Here is the correct link (refer to verbiage on page 5) https://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Edge&year=2019
  11. If you used my program, I have it set to the multi colored theme. It was on page 3 of this thread. The values in 7D0-03-01 is what effects the theme layout. Change it as follows: 7D0-03-01: xxxx 00xx xxxx - Ford Classic 7D0-03-01: xxxx 01xx xxxx - Ford Timeless
  12. I see you also posted on 2gfusions. I’ll gladly help out in this thread. Dan and a few select folks over there charge $95 for full programming, in lieu of offering assistance. It’s easy enough to do yourself.
  13. No one buys vehicle navigation anymore to have the latest maps. That’s what android/iOS (Waze, google, Apple, etc.) apps are for. At this point, the vehicle navigation is used for backup in case my phone craps out.
  14. OEM or aftermarket? Could be the chip has started to fail (or failed altogether).
  15. My 2012 edge uses a 19mm (3/4”) socket.
  16. It usually happens with non-oem keys. I have this message on my aftermarket fob now as well. i simply dismiss it and go on my way.
  17. Maybe he’s referring to MFT (Sync 2) ver. 3.x? Either way, that is a MFT APIM only. You do need the screen as well. You can either upgrade to the newer SYNC 3 system or go with the older MFT (sync 2) system. Installation is essentially the same.
  18. I certainly will. It won’t be for awhile, though.. Just put new wheels, tires and HID bulbs (old ones were almost 7 years old and getting dim). Car only has 77k miles!
  19. Hmmm. I wonder if it’s related to the firmware in my FCIM. Because the “rest” of my car is a 2012, I don’t have the rotary temp indicator. Ill have to see if there is an apim setting in forscan I’m overlooking. thanks all. edit: tried every related setting change with FORScan and no go. Oh well. Something to look forward to when I finally cave and buy a new MY.
  20. I was able to drive around in a loaner 2019 SEL. The SYNC system was v3.3 (which is 2018 and newer APIM with larger memory partition). I noticed that when I change the temperature in the car, a rotary indication was displayed in the screen indicating my temp set point. I'd love to see if I can get this on my SYNC 3 upgrade. Can anyone with a 2017 or newer model year confirm if you have this indicator or not? I have a feeling it is only available on 2018 MY or newer (v3.2 hardware or higher).
  21. Unfortunately sync 1 > sync 3 won’t be possible due to a lack of the necessary OEM components. Your best bet would be aftermarket.
  22. I just put Goodyear Assurance Weatherready tires (20”) on my 2012 AWD. and had my first ride in about 4” of wet snow. I only had 16 miles on the tire (snowed the day after I got them put on). Worked perfectly with no slippage. But, they were literally brand spanking new. Very pleased with them.
  23. I replaced my 2012 MFT with SYNC 3 as well. Took about an hour total. The programming is the biggest hurdle (not insurmountable if you have decent google skills!), but, there’s a few resources where folks will program it for you. Cost is $75-100. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
