  1. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT ABOUT THE EDGE WAS ITS HEADLIGHTS. Holy god the Halogen lights it comes with are so awful. Good to see more first gens come on the board. welcome!
  2. I flash people all the time, but mostly just to let them know there's a cop ahead. If you don't mind losing that ability, I'm sure it won't bother you and you'll enjoy the superb brightness.
  3. ...my third brake light doesn't pulse. I'm aware of some lights you can put on your car that will purposefully do that, but I wouldn't want it. In regards to legality, I don't really care. People run tinted tails that are technically illegal, tint their windows illegally, and even speed. I don't think a cop is going to notice you're missing a reflector, and the only time he'd care if he did is if you're driving drunk or erradically, as an excuse to pull you over. No accusations, but I'm not really concerned about the legality. Aren't any light mods technically illegal if you alter the output or change lights other than what was certifide by the government from the factory? I'm ending with that. *saving y'all from the over-intrusive government rant*
  4. No problem. My profile gallery will have mounting locations in pictures for you, and if you need any help, the forum has plenty of HID install threads.
  5. I wasn't trying to call you out, just wondered if we'd see your car on here with crazy mods and you still bragging about not having voided the warranty
  6. Welcome! It's both comforting and exciting to have you here! Hope you find the board to be respectful and inviting! Do you, by chance, own an Edge and have/thinking of modding it? lol
  7. I don't particularly remember that, but then again, I'm hardly more than two decades old. I've only ever known athletes to take supplements. Tonight, I'm trying Alpha Brain by Onnit Labs. It's a psychotropic supplement to help enhance mood and focus, but also to stimulate dream production to contribute to more fulfilling REM sleep. I'll let everyone know how that goes. Tonight I ended the first week of drinking juice once a day. This week will be my last week before school starts again.
  8. Sorry, I tend to generalize when it comes to 'weight'. I meant fat, not weight. I know muscle weighs more than fat. I'd like to build muscle slightly, but more maintain and tone. The pre-workout gets me psyched up enough to stay at the gym longer than I usually would. I do ration my food less so than the typical american portion, but am trying to do the fruits and veggies things. I've begun limiting my carbs, but still eating bread and red meats. The red meats are hard to give up lol.
  9. Because of the warm up time on the balasts, I opted to leave the halogens in the high beam. If I could go back and do it again, I'd do 55 watt low beams, just because we have reflector housings, so the beam will be a bit jagged. Having the jaggedness further out would be helpful. 35 watt is still great, don't get me wrong. 5000k is optimal, in my opinion, as I think it looks the classiest and doesn't limit visibility much at all. I have a blue edge, so I think it'd have been fun to do 6000k for kicks, but I'm not complaining. I'm not so sure on the fogs, but 5000k is good for actual fog, but it doesn't matter if you just want them to match. I wanna say that they can only do 15 watts down there.. but maybe I'm wrong. DDM, Torimoto, and RetroSolutions are the three you'll find here on the forum. I own RetroSolutions and haven't had any issues with them. Install took 30 minutes.
  10. So I've decided to not do the 7 day detox. Instead, I'm on day four of replacing one meal a day with juice. My shake and exercise routine is wake up > preworkout (caffeine and vitamin B ) > 1.5 miles at a fast jog (8.5-9 minute mile-ish) > weights and abs > protein shake (26 grams of protein). Then I'll have juice for lunch or dinner. That's how it's shaping up to be. Since I'm on break, my mom wasn't too thrilled about me injesting nothing but juice four times a day lol even after explanation of why and how it works. I'm kind of thinking the way I'm doing it could result in weight gain, since my body won't be accustomed to the juice, it will consume the nutrients, but feel hungry since it's used to taking in more calories, converting whatever calories I eat next into fat... I need to do more research. Edit: Apparently the B and ) next to each other make an emoticon.
  11. So if I do a 7 day, juice only detox, would I still be able to drink my protein shakes and pre-workout before/after going to the gym? I assume I'll be feeling extremely tired and kind of edgy, but since they're not solids, they should be fine, right, or will they mess up the detoxifying effects of the juice?
  12. Welcome! There is an online OM, which is what I use since mine didn't come with a paper one. Your parking aid would be a backup sensor, which would beep, or if your vehicle has a camera, it could be that. I had sensors and cameras installed aftermarket, so I'm pretty sure they just function and aren't tied into the vehicles computer, so I've never seen that error. Hope all goes well. I love my '08. Any plans to mod?
  13. I had this in my old sedan, 17" wheels, after drifting some in a parking lot. Never would have thought to consider it when looking at bigger wheels.
  14. Thanks! I'm ordering a juicer today and hope to go grocery shopping once the roads are clear. Hopefully I can escape the -31 degree wind chill... I could probably do that once a week routine at school. Oh yeahhh. Would that be a first? lol
  15. I'm in the middle of watching a documentary called Hungry for Change. The movie goes over MSGs and the multiple ways that we overconsume sugar, unknowingly. It talks about the different chemicals that should be avoided, as well as ways to detox your body and begin intaking more natural nutrients. When I got hungry, I went to the fridge and literally couldn't believe how much was bad for me. Bread, margerine, chocolate millk, mountain dew, queso dip, pizza sauce, ranch dressing, ketchup, etc and you what the first think I went for was? Carrots. I was so grossed out by the rest of the fridge, the only thing I wanted was carrots. That the obesity problem comes from a population that is overfed and undernurished, rather than one that is properly nurished. Apparently, we seek calories because it gives us the fats and sugars that our body used to crave since food and nutrition was so hard to find (hunters and gatherers). When we're properly nurished, the calorie count is actually lower than how we would normally choose foods. A piece of the documentary covers juicing, and I'd like to begin a juicing detox. I've found a couple recipes and need to get a juicer (because I'm so unhealthy I don't have one). I probably will give up the healthier eating when I go back to school, but might as well see if I can do it while I'm still at home. Has anyone tried juicing, or does anyone juice? Any tips or recommendations you can pass along? I'm thinking pineapple, apple, coconut, blueberries, aloe vera, parsley, raddish, cucumbers, just for starters. Best of luck to anyone else trying to lose weight or diet in an particular way. Best motivation the movie gave me: "It's not that you want it and that you can't have it; it should be that you CAN have it, but you don't want it."
  16. What year/model edge do you own? I have an '08 SEL and, since it came with the amp/sub combo, the stereo had a sub out. It'd make no sense to not include one if they're putting in the speakers. At any rate, I'd say the problem lies within how you wired it or the amp itself. Could be as simple as a bad connection, or as bad as a fried amp.
  17. I don't think you can go wrong with Kappas. They're probably what I would buy if I was avoiding JL and Sundown.
  18. Thanks! Unfortunate that you can only see that it's snowing when looking at the car. Hopefully there's some more snowfall, and some better pictures to come.
  19. Maybe I'm the minority, but I've never really cared whether it's on the car or not, but like the mechanics not being on the window, and if it reduces cost, I'm all for giving it up. lol Good luck with finding a solution!
  20. I don't know how often people ride in your back seat, but if it's just you most of the time, I don't think it's worth upgrading the rear. As said, Kappas and Polk are fine. Apline R's are nice, JL Audio is fantastic if you have the cash. Sundown even has a set of fantastic speakers, but they're WAY more than I'd ever pay for components. Installation is easy, and Crutchfield sends vehicle specific instructions and any adapters you'd need. I've done it a few times, a couple Fords, and it was all pretty easy. Best of luck!
  21. That sounds like a good pick up on the warranty! I got a 3 yr/30k warranty from the dealer I got mine from. Mine was also in an accident early in its life, but it's fine now. Hopefully you don't have any further trouble!
  22. Hah. I go to school in Granville and haven't had issues, but it's all in what you're comfortable with and relative to your area. Good to meet a fellow Ohioan! I took her out to the local high school, today, for some fun in the snow. Unfortunately, the school was on top of their plowing today. There were mounds of snow around the parking lots, so I just just to play in the dust Fortunately, as I was leaving, the plow was re-entering the lot to plow it again.
  23. Congrats! Hopefully it'll help you around all the snow you've gotten. We're just getting our worst snowfall here, and my '08's been great to me. Best of all, bought mine with 70k, I'm at 82k, and have had zero issues, knock on wood.
  24. Maybe the cops are a nuissance in your area, but I get by with 20% and the windshield done. The cops here don't hassle anyone, even with 5%, for tint, and if you get by with 20%... It matches the rest of the windows best, too. Personal preference. I'd go darker if I had to do it again.
