  1. jimmkx2k11: I understand your '11 MKX is running SYNC update V3.5.1, the same as my '12 MKX. I have my Climate settings just as you describe. Several days ago, with the engine running and Climate on Full AUTO with center stack switch pad lit, I used the MyLincoln TOUCH screen to set the air distribution path to Floor, which caused the Auto descriptor to appear only above plus-minus fan speed on the screen and the AUTO control light on the center stack to be extinguished, consistent with the photos I previously posted. Earlier today when I drove my MKX -- and just now after reading your post, I verified -- that climate setting is sticking/enduring and does not require any re-setting in my MKX after the vehicle is restarted. I cannot say if there is a difference in the endurance of a Climate setting adjustment made with the engine running, versus the same adjustment made with the engine not running & MyLincoln TOUCH activated using the Entertainment power button beneath the Volume slider control. But, I made all my Climate adjustments with the engine running and the Climate settings stick/endure whenever I restart my MKX. Good luck!
  2. Perhaps the attached documents can help you as you comparison shop. I enjoy my MKX and I hope both of you will enjoy owning an Edge. Good luck! 2013 Ford Edge Competitive Comparison.pdf 2013 Ford Edge Quick Reference Guide.pdf 2013 Ford Edge Source Book.pdf
  3. If you can get the Edge's VIN, do a Google Search of the VIN. There may already be a CarFax report posted somewhere on the Web. Or, the Google Search search may show advertisements or dealer stock listings that provide you a better sense of the Edge's history, like if it went through any auctions, etc. Good luck!
  4. I guess several of us have differing recollections of the AUTO climate functionality before V3.5.1 upgrade, however, we all agree on how it now behaves. Good luck!
  5. Out of curiosity, I called Weathertech and asked if they make what you're looking for. Sales rep said no, only cargo liners for behind the second row of seats. I asked if rep could search their products by dimensions, since a 28 x 54 inch piece would cover the seats-down real estate. Customer service rep had no capability to do a dimensional search. Maybe you could call them and try to speak with someone in engineering (800) 441-6287. Someone at Weathertech should know if they have a 28 x 54 inch piece. Good luck!
  6. Check to see if your Voice Control setting is on Novice or Advanced for the Interaction Mode. I believe the Advanced setting eliminates the voice prompt that invites the driver's spoken commands, which may be what you're describing. Good luck!
  7. The rear brake pad on my MKX lightly clunks and clangs when I climb into the driver's seat. Good luck!
  8. You needn't feel shortchanged while driving your Edge, because there is also no backlighting on either control in my MKX. Apparently, Federal regulations do not require it. Good luck!
  9. The AUTO climate function on my MKX has always behaved like you describe, regardless of which SYNC/MyFord-MyLincoln TOUCH update version has been installed, the latest of which is V3.5.1. From the 2013 Edge Owner's Guide - AUTO: Press the button to turn on fully automatic operation. Select the desired temperature using the temperature control. The system automatically determines fan speed, air distribution, A/C operation, and outside or recirculated air, to heat or cool the vehicle to maintain the selected temperature. The control design doesn't deactivate AUTO by pushing the AUTO button a second time, whether on the center stack or on the MyFord TOUCH screen. Full deactivation of AUTO occurs only via the Climate TOUCH screen by manually selecting a fan speed setting and air distribution path. Good luck!
  10. Posts 1-to-6 describe problems with rearview camera visual park aid lines in vehicles running V3.2.2. Posts 7-and-later appear to describe the V3.5.1 update as having corrected V3.2.2's rearview camera visual park aid problems. My rearview camera & visual park aids & zoom are all working just fine with V3.5.1. I especially enjoy the way the visual zone containing the approaching obstruction highlights from green fill-in to yellow fill-in to red fill-in as a supplement to the audible warning. This added visual function makes the location of the hazard more obvious. Good luck!
  11. Take a look at these instructions & photos for door panel removal. Good luck!
  12. My Owner's Guide, on page 55, mentions removing the screws from the splash shield inside the front of the wheelwell in order to change the turn signal bulb. Out of curiosity, I removed the three screws and found the plastic splash shield bends back easily. If your arm is sufficiently long, it's an easy reach up to the turn signal socket/bulb. The removal clearance between the sheet metal flange that is aft of the socket/bulb is fairly close, but working from inside the wheelwell, the socket/bulb can be removed and reassembled more easily. Good luck!
  13. I have had no problem with Intelligent Access system. Photos attached are of emergency slot & IA fob in center console of my MKX. Slot inclines IA fob about 30 degrees aft from vertical. For rustypayne: You mention you always carry IA Fob #1 in your pocket and you always leave IA Fob #2 in your console. Does IA Fob #2 in your console cause your vehicle to be driveable when you & IA Fob #1 are not present? Is that equivalent to leaving one's key in the ignition? Perhaps I'm missing something in your description. Good luck!
  14. SEL13AWD: Congrats. That is a nice blue! If you have not already, you may wish to sign-up and review the resources of the FordOwner site, which also provides you access to SYNCMyRide. Good luck!
  15. Edgieguy: Documents relating to your 2011 are attached. Good luck! 2011 Ford Edge Packaging Guide.pdf 2011 Ford Edge Production Information Book.pdf 2011 Ford Edge Source Book.pdf

Husky offers a custom molded set that looks comparable, but not identical to the Chinese Ebay seller's item. Good luck!
  17. mwaters: Because you reside in Pittsburgh, it seems peculiar that within your usually brief comments you always include a hyperlink to a Milwaukee-area dealership.
  18. After speaking with several Ford ESP reps in Dearborn, I've learned that Ford has changed their position on ESP coverage for dealer-installed genuine Ford-Lincoln accessories. If an otherwise-covered item needing repair was not installed at the factory, then Ford ESP will not cover it. I made clear to the ESP reps that the hypothetical Remote Start was Ford-branded and materially identical to the factory-installed unit, but was installed by a trained dealership technician. The reps said regardless of the accessory being Ford-branded or not, anything not installed at the factory is considered a modification with an aftermarket/non-factory-installed product. So, if anything is to be added by the dealer, prior to new vehicle purchase or after the original purchase date, make sure you know what the warranty period will be for the item, whether Ford-branded or not. Ford ESP will not extend coverage to non-factory items. I regret relying on what is now an out-of-date ESP reference. My original comment on this topic was wrong. ESP rep said First Day Rental coverage provides reimbursement for a rental when the ESP-covered vehicle is in for an 8-hour or less duration repair. ESP rep said the 10-day maximum rental reimbursement limitation applies in the case of long-term repair actions, however, the ESP rep said the dealership should work with the customer on providing a replacement vehicle in excess of a 10-day duration repair. Good luck!
  19. Regarding the add-on Remote Start unit: Dealer-installed genuine Ford-Lincoln accessories are covered under Ford ESP. If you are comparing Ford ESP to GEICO MBI, make sure you understand GEICO's process differences in addition to any cost differences. I buy zero-deductible Ford ESP because of its simplicity and universality-- I drive to any Ford-Lincoln dealer and they fix my vehicle for no charge. Every Ford-Lincoln dealer sells ESP and they know its claims process inside and out. The same cannot be said for GEICO MBI and their universe of licensed repair facilities which GEICO says I should prefer after paying their $250 deductible. Good luck!
  20. AZX Plan rule on additions to vehicle purchase price: The dealership may charge any price negotiated (at or above dealer cost) between the dealer and the customer for undercoating, dealer installed options, extended service contracts and other items or services that add value to the vehicle, provided such items are priced separately and listed individually on the retail buyer's order and the AZXD-Plan Pricing Agreement. As long as the dealer discloses the cause for the additional charge, in this case, transportation from the holding dealership to your local dealership, then the price increase is allowable under AZX Plan rules. As others have mentioned, the alternative course is to drive to the holding dealer and purchase the vehicle there, as long as incentives available at the more distant dealer location are acceptable to you, if they are not identical to your local dealer. If you must travel outside your home state to buy, be aware of sales tax collection policies and title processing implications between your home state and the selling dealership's state. I traveled two hours away from home to buy my MKX in my home state. The availability of Incentives and my MKX's installed options -- including Trailer Tow -- influenced my decision, which I do not regret. My local Ford dealer has been happy to perform the small bit of warranty service my MKX has required. If you're considering Ford ESP coverage, Anderson and Koch was nearly $1,000 cheaper than Ford ESP Headquarters' call-in quote and about $500 cheaper than the local Ford dealer's price for zero deductable, 7 year, 125k miles, 1st day/upgraded rental. Good luck!
  21. If you are looking for one, this is an expensive solution and one review. Good luck!
  22. Guess I'll delete those pre-V3.5.1 update files and put the hard drive space to better use. Thanks for the no-rollback clarification. Good luck!
  23. I don't use Bluetooth devices and I don't have Navigation in my MKX. That said, I have experienced no problems since self-updating to V3.5.1. I retain copies of all SYNC update files prior to installing them, but I'm unsure if my collection provides me any rollback opportunity. For my level of use, V3.5.1 has marvelously improved MyLincoln Touch. Good luck!
  24. Congratulations on your purchase of the new Edge Sport! Pandora explains use of their app with SYNC is here. Ford explains Pandora here. Other recently announced SYNC app links are described here. Good luck!
  25. Congratulations on your new Edge and thank you for your enduring loyalty to Ford products! You may enjoy downloading & reading this Ford document, which explains your Edge's systems and features. Good luck!
