A close look at factory HID headlight assembly shows the HID low/high beam with igniter AND a inboard halogen bulb that appears to have no function in the OE HID application. In the 16 sport anyway.
I assume the assembly was built for the majority of non HID options ordered/built?

You are quoting a post from 2017!

2015-2018 Edges with factory HID have H15 bulbs on the inboard that function as DRL lights only.

H15 is a dual filament bulb designed as DRL for the low wattage filament and High beams for the high wattage filament, the Edge (with factory HID) only utilize's the low voltage filament, DRL. There is no wiring connected to the high wattage filament.

Replaced the factory HID bulbs (Sport model) out for the main beam with some bulbs from China. They are whiter (not blue) than the factory HID and match the other lighting on the car. No flickering that I've seen , but I've only been out a twice at night thus far. I've kept the old bulbs around in case I have any issues. Bulbs were pretty cheap at like $43 shipped and took a little over 2 weeks to get here.  Visibility is much improved.  I got these:

Options I got were the DS3 35000LM CANBUS. I think the 4300k would be that blue-ish light that I'm not terribly keen on having. The 35000 seem to be white enough.

I recently got the same for our 2015 MKS (didn't try them on the Edge yet), same DS3 35000LM CANBUS. They claim they are 6500K (color) and i tend to beleive them because they have this "too white" color and as if it is starting to fade to blue. I personally didn't like the color, they are brighter, but the color makes me feel the brighter light is less utilized in actually illuminating black asphalt (if that is a thing). Wish I went with the 4300K. I would have preferred 5000K to 5500K color.

On a 2001 Edge Limited  Has anyone been able to change the Temp gauge to give a temp number instead of just showing a Thermometer?

I've seen on some other Fords this has been done.

If anyone know the the mod # that would be great.

That mod is done on 2015+ F-150 models with the 8" IPC. Not possible on the Edge.

You can use an OBD2 Reader and an app to read the temperature, or enter Engineering Mode in the IPC.

  4. Installed LED Turn signal bulbs. Purchased from Amazon (link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q8RZRZV). Thanks to the recommendation from @enigma-2 from another post recently.

These are the first LED bulbs I found for the Edge that are actually brighter than stock. Also they do not hyperflash. However, with parking lights on, they are too bright and hence when turning on the turn the turn signal they become a bit brighter. This makes the turn signals not easily distinguishable. I had disabled the parking light function using ForScan and for me they only function as turn signals. The Edge still has the signature lights in the bumper to function as parking lights. This issue is from Ford using a single filament bulb (the 7440) and applying 5V power as "parking light" and then 12V power for "turn signal". This does not seem to go well with LEDs. The seller also stated "7440 LED bulbs (not 7443 bulbs) are used as turn signal lights ONLY. "

The ForScan changes were: 726-29-02 xxx* xxxx xxxx 0=Turn Only 1=Turn & Parking/Position (default for 2015-2018 Edge).

I believe that re-registeing to two admin keys will erase all old keys. (It's the reason you need to program all fobs at the same time). If you still have four admin keys programmed, try using to two you currently have and re-register them. Then see if the other two disappear.

That's not applicable to newer Ford models. Old keys/Fobs have to be erased.

The process is to erase all keys and then program the required ones, minimum of two. AFAIK.

  6. If I recall correctly, the MyKey menu does show the number of programmed keys. You can use that screen to check how many are programmed and show it to the dealer or locksmith to explain you only need the two you have in hand and delete the rest. I would also suggest you later add the 3rd one yourself so you do not get charged for adding it by them.

Edit: I also also agree that $300 is a lot. The programming process should take less than an hour.

    Hi all,

This morning I noticed a buzz coming out of the rear speakers in my 2018 Edge Sport. This is distinct from the intermittent loud vibration that @omar302 is describing. I ALSO have the intermittent vibration, which occurs when the engine is idling, especially if there is a heavy cargo load in the vehicle. What sets the buzzing apart is that it can happen when the car's electrical system is turned on but the engine is OFF, and it is steady and continuous.

@Daniel Mohan Dass, did you ever get this issue checked out or find a solution?

    Thanks

Does it change if you open a front door? If yes, then I'd still guess it is from the ANC.

Lane centering (slight shake of the wheel and alert if I crossed),

Ford has two different features, based on options:

Lane Keep Assist, this will nudge you back if you cross the lanes. This works irrespective of cruise control.

Lane Centering, this will keep the vehicle centered between the lanes and only works with adaptive cruise control.

thanks for that info. i didn't think of looking for reviews on amazon. we have winter conditions here so no go for me.

the mustang lug nuts won't really solve the problem since they are the same design, just less expensive.

    thanks

For me, the first (original) set lasted about 3-4 years when I did not know how to preserve them, making sure technicians are using 21mm wrenches. So I expect the new set to out last how long I'll be keeping the Edge.

As to the DRL and high beam, yes it has an H15 in it and there are three wires going through the connector to the bulb. Are you suggesting that the high beam wire on the other end is not connected to anything?

You'd think that Ford would have wanted to save .005 cents for not running that wire there if it's not going to be used, imagine what that would save and weight on the vehicle..?

On my 2016 Edge, I remember there are only two wires connected to the bulb connector. Ground and DRL. Are you saying yours has 3 wires? If yes, then that's different and my statement above would then be wrong or not applicable to your Edge.
