  1. Couldn't say for sure. I doubt they would work in the newer models with the passive key, but maybe they might fit older models. You may have to check the part number with the dealer to see if they fit other years, or be a guinea pig and order them up to try them.
  2. I have a light out in my keypad as well. I'm guessing that there is no fix other than replacing the entire thing.
  3. You will never get all the smoke smell out. It gets behind the panels, in the carpet padding, etc. where you can never clean it or Febreze it. You may think you have it smelling good, then a damp, rainy day comes along and the smell will surface again. I, too, am sensitive to smoke smells (actually allergic) and have had cars before with this problem. I'd advise you to keep looking for one that was non-smoker owned. When you are looking at used cars, always check the ashtray (if there is one)... if they have pretty smelling air freshener beads in it, keep moving.
  4. Yep,that's the set I bought. Too bad they only fit 2009-2010...
  5. I'm ashamed to admit I have not gotten them installed yet. Life, and all that. Hopefully soon - will post results and pics when I get them on.
  6. The set I bought is part number 9T4Z-7822404-AA (shows fitment for 2009-2010 models) and runs around $65 for the set of four handles with bezels... not bad. I bought mine on eBay from a seller called "dealerconsignments" and had a very positive experience. I had tried the chrome covers before I bought these. Don't waste your money. They fit poorly and look cheap. I sent them back for a refund. OEM is definitely the way to go.
  7. I have this same problem with the nav in my 2010 Edge. It will not recognize "Tampa" when I speak it. I've even had other people in the car say it to see if there was something about my voice that it didn't like, but it still won't take it. I've resigned myself to having to type in the address manually before I leave.
  8. Can you just Plasti-Dip the chrome window trim as well?
  9. Any change in radio reception from the factory antenna?
  10. I've been considering a set of these in chrome for my 2010 Limited. How hard was it to connect up the halo and LED lights? Did you have to cut into any factory harnesses? That is the only thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger on them. I don't want to modify the factory wiring.
  11. Some lovely person in the Target parking lot decided to slam their door open into my driver door handle, taking off a good chunk of paint. I ordered a set of the Ford OEM replacement chrome door handles. I was amazed at how easy it was to install them! I had all four replaced in about 10 minutes, and that included having to go back in and find the correct size Torx bit. Installation goes like this: Pop off the black plastic plug on the inside edge of the door next to the door handle. Insert a Torx T-25 bit into the hole and loosen the screw (the instructions said to use a T-20, but for some reason I had to use the next size up.) Pull on the door handle and pop off the end trim bezel. Pull the door handle out and toward the rear of the vehicle until it pops off, then pull straight out to remove it from the door. Install is the reverse of removal. So simple! And it cost way less than having to have the door handle repainted.
  12. I think car manufacturers are doing this now as a reaction to the problem of smelly A/C systems when they are left in recirc mode all the time. My 2010 Dodge Journey did the same thing. It's a way to make sure that fresh air gets circulated over the evaporator so that mold doesn't get a chance to build up. Just my 2 cents.
  13. I'm glad I read this forum, I am just about to apply my bumper protector as well. The instructions that come with it are next to useless. Thanks for the tips!
  14. I want a set of these for mine too, but was hoping someone else had already installed them so I could see how they like them, how hard they were to put in and wire up, etc.
  15. I just ordered a set of these, so once they arrive from China and I get them put on, I'll report back on how they fit and so forth. The description says they only fit 2007-2011, so I wouldn't think they would fit the 2013.
  16. I have seen these mud flaps on eBay and was thinking about getting them for my 2010: http://www.ebay.com/itm/150925139483?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 They look like they might be a better/more custom fit than the plain flat ones from Ford. Any thoughts?
  17. So is that if I send my lights to you for conversion, or do you have lights converted already and I would send mine back as cores? I would have to have a set to drive with during the process.
  18. I have been contemplating a speaker upgrade in my 2010 Edge as well. Someone on eBay is selling Kicker KS680 speaker upgrade packages for the Edge. I'm wondering how much better the sound quality would be with these as compared with the stock speakers. I have the factory head unit with Sirius, Sync, navigation and the 10 gig hard drive. Mine also says it has 9 speakers, but I'm not sure where all of them are.
  19. Sent you an email. Let me know if you got it or not
  20. I agree with you on most of those points. Coming from owning mostly Chrysler products over the years, I can definitely say that the Edge rides WAY better. The reason I got rid of my 2010 Dodge Journey was because of the absolutely horrible suspension (it was the only vehicle I have ever owned that made me carsick while driving it.) There is a sea of hard plastic in the 1st generation Edge (as there was in the Journey also), but that was addressed I believe with the refresh for the 2011 model year. However it doesn't look bad, and isn't a major issue for me. One thing I do take issue with is the back seats. Only the small square center inserts are actual leather, the rest of the seat is vinyl. Granted, they did an excellent job of matching it, and I do realize that they did it for durability purposes, but I still feel like more of the seat should be real leather. I've never had a vehicle with power adjustable rearview mirror, steering wheel or pedals, so it's not something I miss. Since I'm the only one who drives the Edge it's a non-issue, although I can see how it would come in handy with multiple drivers. I like the tilt/tele steering wheel, and think that every car should have that feature. I love the power liftgate too, although out of habit I still find myself still reaching up to pull it shut manually... have to keep remembering to push the button instead. The blind spot mirrors are a little hard to get used to at first, but after you do they are really nice to have. Personally, I would have rather had them at the lower inboard corner rather than the upper outboard, but they do a good job of showing you who is next to you. Excellent write-up Kitulu. Thanks for sharing. :-)
  21. How's $60 including shipping?
  22. Welcome, Kitulu. I'm a new owner as well. Picked up a 2010 Edge Limited, fully loaded, certified pre-owned, with 76k on it for $18,375. It has nav, power lift gate, ambient lighting, and the interior appearance package with the Sienna leather seats. I've had it since New Year's Eve and love it! This is a vehicle that I can see myself keeping for the long term. Glad to hear that they are relatively problem free. It's my first Ford product ever in over 30 years of driving!
