  1. I should think that kind of moisture would mean that the 2016's would have a leak issue. I don't believe any have been reported. So far, mine does not either.
  2. I'll try this and report back. I find it hard to believe it is this on a vehicle so new, besides it smells nothing like mildew or mold. As a secondary question: Do your electric fans run on initial start-up even when the vehicle is cold?
  3. That battery will be a pia & back to replace!
  4. I just discovered an odor that is very nasty. I am not really sure where it is coming from, but believe its origin is under the hood. I first noticed it the second or third time I used the AC. I parked in my garage after the first time and I noticed that there was no lingering trace of the odor, nor any drips or possible sources observed. Today I went out with the AC on and had the odor coming out of the dash vents ( in reg. or recirc. mode) and after returning and parking in the garage the smell was obvious, yet not easily traced to something I could pinpoint. The odor is unlike anything I have ever smelled coming from / out of an automobile. Not really a burned lube smell or burned plastic smell, but somewhat like that. There is no telltale noise, no smoke, nor visible fume. I will have to dig under the engine cover, or might just run it to the dealer. By the way, the AC seems to be working as it should. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  5. Being an "old school" blues rock guy I had to check out Robin Trower's new release, Where you are going to and was surprised to find that he has not slowed down one bit. In fact he is doing the vocals on this cd. He does not have the pipes that his old bass player James Dewar did of Bridge of Sighs fame, but then who does? I liked this song of the new release best of all. It's hard to believe that Robin still shreads a guitar like he does after after 71 years... An interview:
  6. If this is where country is today, sign me up...Waylon must be smiling...
  7. Are you going to put some protection on for the front of the hood? I am having a difficult time finding something for that application that looks good and will fit our vehicle.
  8. I ordered and installed the low profile ventshades.( http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Ventshade-894035-Seamless-Ventvisor/dp/B011E9TN9Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1457562890&vehicle=2016-54-5858------------2-0&sr=1-4&ymm=2016:ford:edge&keywords=ventshades&tag=viglink20819-20) They do add a bit of wind noise, but they do keep the rain out when the windows are down a couple of inches. This allows the vehicle to shed a fair amount of heat when parked in direct sunlight, and my black interior does get hot!
  9. Anyone with the new gen. (2015-16) Edge find a bug / hood guard that fits? Which brand did you install and how was that installation, did it require drilling? How do you like it? Please post up a picture.
  10. Sweet aircraft, nicer video! http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/witness-the-smoothest-jet-fighter-footage-ever-at-345-m-1771701645
  11. I came up with a temp. solution. I took a folded towel (lengthwise) and tucked both sides of it into the storage compartment and shut it, pinching the sides and anchoring them. I positioned it to be just wide enough to cover the top of the bumper cover and just flip it to the inside after the dog jumps in. By the way when you don't move it away from the rear hatch locking pins the Edge gets upset ;>) You will get a dash display and in my case I had to lift the hatch by hand to free the latch from the material. No big deal, but worth mentioning.
  12. Well I decided not to go the roof rack route for carrying my canoe and instead went out and bought a small trailer. I had ordered a tow package for my vehicle so it was a pretty easy fall back measure to take. I am at the point that lifting a 70# canoe onto the top of a vehicle after a long day of fishing is growing more difficult, and the thought of dropping the canoe on my new Edge scares the hell out of me. Pulling this same canoe onto the trailer is much easier. While I am talking about the tow package on my Edge I’ll mention something I noticed towing the trailer home yesterday. I found that the Ford installed receiver is a bit larger than either of the two ball hitches I already owned from other vehicles. When either were installed into the receiver tube there was a fair amount of play in that connection. The end result is a very noisy ride when the trailer went over rough road conditions. I have no way to know if this is a “one off” condition on my vehicle or is common to all of them? I have never had this condition on trucks that I’ve owned. Anyway, I inserted two popsicle sticks side by side on the receiver tube floor and that thickness removed all the slack out of the hitch out of the connection between the receiver tube and the ball hitch. Another observation is that it is very difficult to back a small narrow trailer due to the limited vision out of the rear window/ side mirrors. Maybe after I get a better feel for the backup camera I will not have the same difficulty, but for the time being popping the rear hatch does the trick.
  13. I did buy the Mobile 1 @ Walmart and got the rebate.
  14. We have lots of threads on sound systems, system improvements, settings, but I've seen nothing on what folks here enjoy listening to. Not sure this topic will go anywhere, but let's see. I have developed a strong love of "The Blues" over the last decade or so, so I tend to focus my listening towards that. I am also a big Dead, fan along with the Byrds, Poco, and many other groups from this era. These days I am listening to Eric Bibb & Jason Isbell in heavy rotation with other music. What are you listening to these days?
  15. Not sure this is the best place to post this, but here it is. I took advantage of this deal last year. I bought 5 qts. @ Walmart and then got a $12.00 rebate. If you use Mobil 1 this is a great deal! Here is the link that gives the details: https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mobil-promotions/up-to-15-dollars-off-with-mobil-1-and-mobil-super?WT.tsrc=Email&WT.mc_id=Email_Promo_Retail-Spring-15Dollars_040816&WT.z_placementID=EmailCTA_Article_SpringPromotion
  16. I can tell early on that the top portion of our bumper cover is going to be tough to keep scratch free. Dogs, material, & life will take its toll, so the question becomes: What can be done to prevent undue wear & tear on this part? I wish Ford had thought about an attached rubber tread cover over the top portion of the rear bumper cover on this vehicle.(though maybe it can't handle being stepped on?) I am aware there is a mat that covers it when the back hatch is open, but I want something that is permanent. I may get mine covered with a 3M film or similar product. Anyone else got any ideas?
  17. I was wondering if I can use a more durable synthetic protective sealant / wax on my roof to help ward off the heavy UV attack that horizontal surfaces get over time. My last vehicle (a 20+ year old truck) looked great due to my efforts in keeping it tidy and waxed, but it did suffer some clear coat damage on its roof and hood. My Edge does not have any glass on top, so there is a lot of surface area up there and I would like not to re-wax it as frequently as the rest of the vehicle. Your approach / thoughts / suggestions?
  18. What sort of life cycle do the batteries in the remote entry fob have? Is there any indication that they are on their "last legs" or do they just go dead? Do you keep spare batteries handy, or just replace them @ some specific time interval? If you do this, how often?
  19. Welcome, I suspect you will enjoy your new Ti. I know I have enjoyed mine!
