  1. Along those same lines. I have a problem of hitting the E-brake with my left foot when I brake my 2013. I KNOW, "don't use your left foot to brake stupid." Never had this problem with my Taurus. But it had adjustable peddles. Burke
  2. How about your CV joints? Ever had them checked and repacked? Just a thought.
  3. I traded for my 2013 Edge because I was sick of my fully loaded 2013 Malibu. Only had 4938 miles on the Chevy when I traded. Knew the Edge was not the top of the line but didn't know what it was. Re-search found it to be an SE with a few added options. I loved the Tuxedo Black and the way it drove. That's what sold me on the Edge and it was a FORD.. But I had to make it mine, sooooo! I did my thing. Blacked out the lower grill bar, added running boards, window visors, rear bumper protecter, and Burreled Walnut vynal to the dash, center consol and door handle areas. This week I'll install the trailer hitch. Don't have any trailers anymore, just wanted the hitch in case.
  4. I have a Tuxedo Black 2013 and live in Texas all the time. Sure when it sits in the sun, it gets hot inside. Probably in the 120/130 degrees range or better inside. But the Edge's A/C works so well that in just a very short time it cools things off. I'd say interior color is not a major issue. Get what you like and what you think will hold up the best. And by the way "welcome to the Great State of Texas" even if it's only for short periods. Burke
  5. Welcome Leeroy, enjoy your new vehicle and your stay here on the best Edge Forum around. Burke
  6. I traded my loaded 2013 Chevy Malibu (which I purchased new last year) with only had 4938 miles on it for my 2013 Edge with 52198 miles. Do miss a few of the Chevy options but otherwise have not looked back. The Edge is a remarkable vehicle. Burke
  7. Car Care products are like so many other things "You get what you Pay for" You can buy cheep and get medioker results or you can spend more and get better and longer lasting results. I use nothing on my 57 T-bird and now the Edge but ClearKote. You can find it on-line @ www.clearkote.com. Stumbled upon it years ago at a swap meet and have used it ever since. OH! Welcome to the FORD FAMILY OF FINE CARS enjoy you new purchase and post some pictures. Burke
  8. I purchased the one from Ford also and like you Tophat4321 I was disappointed at it's thickness. I was also disappointed that it did not extend over the edge of the bumper. That is where my chipped paint is, just on the edge of the bumper. It was easy to install and on my Tuxedo Black car it is almost invisible. But looks nice. Burke
  9. Was going to do the wrap, but decided on Plasti-dip instead. Only wanted to do the bottom grill bar. Went on smooth and looks great. It is a simi gloss finish which I like. Cost about $10.00 and will peel off if you don't like it.
  10. Was this a DIY job or did you have it installed and how much did it cost? If your going to have a bra on your vehicle, this is the kind to have. Burke
  11. Welcome to the forum. My Tuxedo Black Edge is a 2013 SE. Plasti-dipped the bottom grill bar Black, installed a read bumper protector, running boards, and window vents. There is lots of good info here on this forum. I go through every new post everyday. No all realitive to my particular application, but interesting to know. So again Welcome and enjoy. Burke
  12. 2013 SE, Tuxedo Black, V6, Auto, A/C, PS, PB, push button entry, roof rails, etc.52,198 miles, 3yr 36,000 Ford bumper to bumper,$18,900 near Dallas, Texas. Quite a few miles but a well cared for vehicle. Very clean and performs beautifully. Best mileage so far 24.9mpg. city/country. Burke
  13. I have a 57 T-Bird that I like to show on the weekends. But we have had so much rain this year in Texas that that activity has been very limited. So it's lawn care, shopping, garage projects, etc. Burke
  14. Welcome and congrats on the beautiful Edge. Like that color. Lots of good stuff here to help and enjoy. Burke
  15. OK Guys, Has anyone tried this? Was looking at the grill om my 2013 Edge and thought it might look good if the bottom chrome piece was blacked out. You can get what is called WRAP vinyl for about $10.00. Which is just a vinyl plastic applied with a little heat. If you decide you don't like it, you can just peel it off. Guess you could just paint it but you wouldn't have the option of changing your mind. My photo shoppe ability isn't the greatest. But you can kind of see what it would look like. The flags that seem to be on top of the car were across the street from my house. Burke
  16. Installed my running boards last week and my window visors. Now this is MY style. Maybe blackout the tail lights except for the backup part. Anyone tried that? Burke
  17. Hey Thanks to all fore the greetings, make me feel at home. Appreciate the advice on the mud flaps, but not my thing. So running boards were installed and work about the same. Wife is only 4'11" so the boards help her in and out also. They give the Edge that lowered look which I have always liked. I've had a multitude of cars, mostly Black. So I don't mind the attention required to keep them looking good. And being retired I have plenty of time. A congrats to you "good2Bking" on your 34 also. Longivity, that's a unique Club we belong to. Burke
  18. Hi Teri, We are from Texas also, Greenville area Northeast of Dallas. Had our 2013 Edge for about three weeks and love it also. Welcome to the forum. Lots of good stuff here. Burke
  19. Posted pics of our 2013 Edge which we just go last Saturday. And my Crow on the Welcome page, but I'll post them again. Lost of very nice wheels in this group The Edge,I seem to like Black cars. And here is my sweet heart. 57, D code, 312, auto, PS&B, both tops. 6/14/15 update Here is the Edge with the new running boards and window visors.
  20. Hi, names Burke, reside in Greenville, TX with my beloved wife of 58 years and my eldest daughter. Two years ago we moved back into town after 27 years in the country. And didn't have room for all my vehicles. Traded my Taurus and F150 for a new 2013 Chevy Malibu. Now after 14 months or gripping with myself over that, I've had it with GM products and returned to FORD. Picked up our 2013 Black edge last Saturday. I seem to like black cars. It matches my 57 T-Bird. Am looking at 4" oval running boards and a class III hitch as the first mods. Then maybe some window visors and possible a chip. But nothing to serious. Looking forward to exchanging ideas with you Guys.
