  1. Only problem I've had is a dead battery from lack of use. Charged it and everything is fine. Had 54,200 when I got it has 56,900 now after 15 months. Burke
  2. Ford offered me a price matching deal. Didn't save any money but. But Ford acquired, mounted & balanced, and stands behind them. As well as keeping track of them. 80,000 mile Bridgestone Dueler, (well see about that 80,000). Burke
  3. Never rode one that did try to kill me. My Dad used to race Indians back in the early teens. Would not let us have bikes when we were young, to dangerous, he said. I married a Nurse. So none of our kid were allowed to have bikes while they lived at home(to dangerous). I have thought about a trike, but now being "older than dirt". I've given up all thought of anything with less than four wheels. I do have a 33 Ford Vicki that is real quick.

    Waving?

The only waves I've ever gotten in NY, were the one finger kind. Burke
  5. I Plasti dipped mine about a year ago and it still look like the day it was done. Cost about an hour and $15.00. I just didn't like that excessive chrome. Burke
  6. Love Black cars, but my Tuxedo Black car always looks a little durty or dusty next to a real Black vehicle. Burke

    Dirty Martian

Supposed to be 99 today with high humidity, heat index(feel like temp) 108 and that's in North Texas. One pitcher may not be enough. Burke

    Dirty Martian

You know it's hot in Texas from now until late October. So an Afro/soviet really does the trick of cooling you off after mowing the yard. You ask "what is that?" It's two jiggers of Kahlua and two jiggers of Vodka(basically a Black/Russian). In a blinder about half full of Ice. Blend to the consistency of a slushy. and enjoy. Doesn't take but one to give a very cool delightful place to relax. Burke
  9. Should be no problem with anything. The computer will adjust to the conditions automatically. Like Akirby said, don't ride the brakes. Give um time to cool every now and them. Nothing scarier than have them fade to nothing. Love Colorado, have fun and be safe. Burke
  10. My 2013 Edge SE had 53K when I purchased it a year ago, now it has 56K. Only problem I've had is a low battery from lack of use. I really like it and it gets good mileage, 21/23 in town 25/27 on the highway. Before my wife passed last September. We would take long drives through the country, just because she enjoyed them so much. Since then I purchased another toy. That I've spent the last three months getting back up to my standards. I now drive it whenever I can. Here are some pictures. Burke
  11. I was to tight to pay for Weathertech. So I went with eBay stick on's. Been several years now and they are still stuck right where I put them. Burke
  12. REPAINT! Cost man, cost. Unless you go Earl Shibe. As I said before a really GOOD repaint will run $10K or maybe more now days. There are some less expensive jobs out there but you wouldn't want them after a few years. I just paid $1000 to have the hood on my 33 Ford Vicki redone. It blew off in transport from Florida. Fortunately it landed in the center medium and wasn't run over, just skinned up. Burke
  13. A good re-paint job will run you $1000 up. Have a friend that did his El Camino with a Military Tribute that he designed himself on his home computer. As I recall it cost under $5K. Burke
  14. Kind of sounds like a funny question for an EDGE FORUM. Burke
  15. Mine is a 2013 SE Tuxedo Black V6. What's not to love? Quite & comfortable ride with plenty of room. Lots of zip. Beautiful lines. Respectable mileage. Dealerships most everywhere if needed. Traded a Chevy Malibu LX with only 4967 miles for my Edge with 52K. Anything else? Burke
  16. Just added this to my garage. Burke
  17. 2013 SE with running boards. Love them. I got them off Ebay. You can go cheep or expensive. I went middle of the road. Burke
  18. Welcome aboard. Love my Tuxedo Black 2013 Edge SE. Am sure you will fall in love with your. if you have not already. Burke
  19. Read my post "Strange things". Was due 55K checkup, when I went to start the Edge after a rather cold night, it only clicked. Just like yours. Call the Dealership and they sent Road Service. They jump it off and everything was cool again. While at the Dealership they checked and charged the battery. It checked OK so I decided not to change it out at this time. The car had only been drive about 100 miles in last three/four weeks. So I'll keep an eye on it and at first signs of another dead battery I'll replace it. My Edge is a 2013 SE. Burke

    1st oil change 3.5

For $29.95 it's hardly worth crawling underneath it. Plus you get a tire rotation, all the fluids checked, and a 23 point inspection. Take it to you Ford Dealer. My 2 cents worth. Burke.
  21. Had decided that what you suggest is exactly what I'll start doing with the Edge. It's not that I can't drive, love to drive. But I'd just rather drive my 57 Bird most of the time. I do put the Bird on the charger about once a month, just because. Greenville, TX is not a large place, maybe 10/20 minutes from one side to the other. And only about 3 miles from my house to all the important places. So unless I have a reason to go to Dallas, neither of my vehicles get much use during this time of year. Burke
  22. Yesterday I had an appointment for my 55K mile check up on my 2013 Edge SE. When I went out to leave the Edge would not start. Temp was in the upper 20's which is cold for North Texas. Clickty, clickty was all I got like the Battery was low. I tried several times hoping it was just the cold. Then the darn thing started doing all sorts of strange things. Dash lights were blinking, bells were chiming, turn the key off and the stuff just kept on keepin on for about 10 seconds. Thought I had really blown it up this time. It wouldn't even let me shift out of PARK. So I caller the Dealership and they gave me the Road Service #. Service truck arrived in less than 20 minutes. Jump started the Edge and to my surprise everything was back to normal. Got my 55K service and they charged & checked the battery. It checked OK, so I didn't replace it. In conclusion, we decided that I needed to drive the car more. To many night time and short trips in our small town. Maybe 100 miles in the last month. So the moral to the story is drive your cars Guys, just to keep the battery up Burke
  23. I'm 83 years old, on a fixed income, and am always looking for the most cost effect way to solve a problem. Guess that relates back to the 30 years I spent in Data Processing making a living. I have had other vehicles with wood like trim which was just a wrap, and it looked good. So for $14, thought I'd give it try. It not perfect but neither am I. It came out rather nicely even if I do say so myself. And for that price, what do you have to loose? I had a 1935 Ford Street Rod Panel Truck I made the gauge cluster and glove box door from a piece of Pergo flooring. Just use your head to come up with something that works for you. Burke
  24. No problem with an exacto knife and a hair dryer. just take your time. If you do screw up just peel it off and start over. Burke
