  1. Think I'll be an A$$. What tune is it humming? Burke
  2. After you check out all the tire shopes on line and decide which you want. Go to your Ford Dealer and see if he will do a price match or better. I have a 2013 with 17's. Bought Bridgstone Hussler H/L Alenza Plus which are an 85,000 mile tire. They are quite, soft riding and I love them. We will see about that 85,000 miles? Burke
  3. Haven't checked this out on my 2013 Edge. But have added blocks under the track to adjust the seat for my 4'10" wife in other cars I've had. Maybe just add some height to the rear of the track would solve the problem? Burke
  4. Steering wheel adjustment. I'm short would like the wheel to be lower as it was in my Taurus. Angle is to flat needs to be more vertical. Otherwise I love it. Burke
  5. If you have the VIN# you can go to www.etis.com and it will list any recall that have not been done and a bunch of other data that may be useful.
  6. You can sometimes drill a small hole at the front and rear bearings. Lub them with some fine oil and the put a drop of epoxye to keep the lub in. Burke
  7. For what it's worth. I was a loyal Ford driver for years. A couple of years ago I moved back to the city from the country. Not having the space for all my toys I traded a Taurus and F150 for a new 2013 Chevy Malibu. In May of this year at 4938 miles I traded the Malibu for a 2013 Edge SE. I pumped four gallons of water out of the trunk of the Chevy when it opened up at night during a rain storm. It had a single click opener on the fob that would actuate when in your pocket. It was a nice car with all sort of options, but it was NOT a Ford. Nothing was in the same place nor did it work the same. So be careful and check things out before you leap away from Ford. My 2 cents worth. Burke
  8. You know, I had a 1955 Pontiac Star Chiief 2dr HT, a couple years back that had bias ply tires. I replaced them with the Hankook radials and was delighted with the performance. But then again, maybe it was the difference between bias and radial. Burke

    What's Hanging?

    My wife's handicap tag. Burke
  10. I gues this is what makes us so different. I didn't like the carbon fiber look on the dash of my 2013 SE. Covered it with burreled Oak. Burke WHY< WHY are my pictures showing up onb their sides?
  11. Shortly after purchasing my 2013 Edge SE I noticed a wheering noise. Service Guy said it was tire noise and would go away. Front tires were newer Kelley's, rear were a little older Hankook. Drove me nuts for 2 months(700 miles). Replaced the tires with (4) new ones and the noise is gone. So take you chances. Burke
  12. Only way to go. Even with my Motor Home and while towing with my F150, I used the distribution hitch. It helps control sway as well as load. Burke

    Edge cap

Well I'll be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Edge cap arrived today. Ordered it on July 5th. Which suprised me since they did not answer any e-mails or phone calls. But it is a nice cap and if you have a month to wait, then order one. Burke
  14. Because that's an ugly color. Just kidding, lol, to each his own and all that stuff. Burke
  15. Got the new shoes installed yesterday. Noticed no noise on the way home but have not had a chance to really check them out. Stayed close to the A/C because it was 104 degree. Burke

    Edge cap

I ordered a Ford Edge cap from Warner Roberts Performance that advertised on this forum. That was July 5th, I haven't received the cap yet. I've sent several emails to them with no responce. When I go on-line it shows the order being "in process". Anyone else have this problem? Burke
  17. As my Grandmother used to say "We will always be YOUNG, unless we change our name". That being said, I did a lot of tire shopping yesterday. Found two tire comparison listings. And noticed that on both listings the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus was second. Just behind Michelin Premier LTX on one list and the Pirelli Scorpion Verde on the other list. Dueler H/L 442 came in fourth on one list and twelveth on the other. So I got an on-line quote from Discount and went to Ford for a comparison. Ford was $30 cheaper than Discount's $784.95 on the 442s. Discount on the Alenza Plus was $694.02 And Ford did not beat that but they did match it. So tomorrow I will have new shoes on the Edge. I guess I'll then have to go back to my daily routine of playing on the computer, reading forum notes and waiting until after 4:00 PM to have my toddy. Darn life is tough when your old and retired. Burke
  18. WWWPerfA_ZNOW, I live in Northeast Texas and you have to ask what kink of weather?lol. All joking aside, yesterday was the first official 100 degree day this year. Had six straight days at 99 before that. We have been in a drought for the past several years until May this year. Got over 36 inches in May, which is our annual rain fall. Snow? usuall only get one or two days that interfer with travel. Tire price was out the door with everything included. macwt, Would probably have to wait until February for the first snow. Am going to check with Ford and a couple other dealers here in Greenville before I buy. The Bridgestones look to be pretty highly thought of, But are there other brands that compare for quiteness, softness, ware, and price? Burke
  19. Look at the "Chrome Grill Painted" above for more discussion on Plasti-dip. Burke
  20. As I recall, I did 5/6 coats of plasti-dip. Allowed about 10 minutes between each very light coat. Have no runs and a very smooth surface. You just need to be parient and not try to make one thick coat do. I didn't want the shiny look. Perferred the matt finish of the plasti-dip. But to each their own. Burke
  21. I've tried everything to determine where the noise is coming from, front or back. I sometimes think it's the front then I change my mind. I've tried turning one way then the other slowly, then quickly. Nothing changes. I looked into the Bridgestone's mentioned above. $784.95 @ Discount out the door. I'm very seriously considering that. Being almost 83 years old and only driving about 5/8K a year. They would probably be the last set I very buy. I've been good and deserve a quite ride don't you think?
  22. OK. the tires are Kelley Edge(235/65R17) on the front, Hankook Dynapro AS(P235/65R17). Have no idea as to the mileage on either pair. The Edge is a 2013 SE with 52,900 miles. As far as ware the Hankook's seem to have a slight rounding on the inside of the tread. But no apparent dishing or cupping and I see no tread seperation either. Tread is comparable on both sets without enough difference to be visible. There is no vibration, pulling, or any other distraction. Car drives and handles beautifully except for that D*** noise. Burke
  23. When I purchased my 2013 Edge SE on May 27, 2015 I didn't notice what seems like a tire noise. The next day when I took my extra set of keys for my trade back. I mentioned it to the sales person. He took it to service and he and a service guy took it for a ride. They said it was tire feathering and would go away shortly. The car did have two new tires in the front little older ones on the rear. But it's been about 700 miles and I still have the noise. It sounds like tire with lugs kinda of a wheer, wheer, wheer. The sound dosen't change with the road surface. You can start to hear it at about 15mph to 65mph. I'm beginning to think it's a wheel bearing? Anything else it might be?
  24. Just bouhgt five Coker Classics for my 57 T-Bird from Amazon, $1035. Discount charged me $75 to install and balance. They ask why I didn't get the tires from them. Told them Amazon was $400 cheaper. Discount for four Coker Classics = $1365, Amazon = $965. Burke
  25. Plasti-dip worked great on mine and has held up well to the eliments and car washes. Don't understand why it turn the pics on their side?
