This was a very simple install. I just removed the silver trim from the center console, it's just clipped in. Then removed 4 star screws from the center console, the one with the cup holders. I did have to move the shift lever to Neutral or Drive to unclip the center part of the console from the middle climate control console panel. Once that was unclipped I had easy access for the mod. Watch out for the wire to the shift indicator as it is kind of short. Next I marked where the holes were to be drilled on the inside of the cupholders, about the 7:00 position. I used a uni-bit drill bit on my cordless drill and I think that the hole size was about a 1/4 inch or so, maybe a little bit bigger. I spliced into the LED light that lights up the tray cubby hole in the front of the console. You could also splice into the shift indicator light if you want. I then ran the LED strips through the opening on the sides of the console. They came as a 12 inch strip, but you can cut them to size, so it ended up about 8 inches when cut to size. I connected the 2 leds in the cupholder to the led strips, and then all of those wires to the positive, and negative wires to the led that lights up the tray on the forward side of the console. I used wire screws to hold the connection, and then used clear silicone glue to hold the leds in place in the cupholder. The total mod cost under $20! Oh yeah...all of the leds are dimmable by the dash lights on the instrument panel...they also come on when the doors open. I hope this helps. P.S. The leds in the cupholder, and led strips are from Oznium.com

I have a 2013 SEL with Sync/MFT, non Sony stereo. I have been trying to get HD radio for a while now, and found that the receiver is built in the CD player. So I found an OEM HD stereo/cd/mp3 player on Ebay from a totaled 2013 Edge. I noticed that it had the same plugs on the back as my Edge receiver. When I got it, I plugged it in and everything works, including picking up HD channels....except the volume! Do I need to take it to the Ford dealer to have them unlock it, or type my vin number in to make it work? That's the question. There has to be a way to make it work, as what if your car got stolen and they took your receiver, you would have to get a new one and have them make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this topic.

I have a 2013 Edge SEL with Sync and MFT, non Sony system. My question is, did this stereo come with an amplifier, and if so where is it located. Thanks. -
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but can you tell me where the amplifier is in your Edge? I have an 2013 SEL Edge with MFT and standard stereo.

Thanks for the info Mestguy. That sure sounds like a lot of work and money, especially since I don't know much about electronics! Might have to be happy with what I have.

For those of us who want HD radio in our Non HD radio Edge...I found out that the radio receiver is inside the CD player. So if you buy a CD player/radio receiver on Ebay from say an Edge Limited which comes with the nice sound system and HD radio will it work? That is the question???

I am also curious about this mod. I also have a 2013 SEL with Sync and MFT. Is there any mod that we can do to get HD radio in our Edge? Can we get some kind of HD module that is plug and play that will work?

I chose the Color Bond (Ford Sand #518) color. If you got your Edge with the Med. Light Stone interior, this will be the Sand color.-

I'm new to the forum here, and just found this post...and all I can say is that Ford should be ashamed of themselves for putting hubcaps on such a nice vehicle that costs around $40,000 new. You mean for that price they could not come up with something more creative than plastic hubcaps on such an expensive vehicle. Thats like putting hubcaps on a Shelby Mustang!!!

Side moldings installed from Bodysidemoldings.com. -
I just installed my side molding yesterday. I got it from Bodysidemoldings.com, and the paint match looks perfect. I followed the instructions and was done just over 1 hour, so not bad.
