  1. So we were driving on the highway and some truck kicked up a tire tread which struck the front of my 2016 Edge. The license plate and grill took the brunt, with the chrome grill insert cracking in 2 places. The rest of the grill, emblem, hood and lower fascia have some rubber scuffs that should buff out. Does anyone know what the part number is for the chrome grill inserts and how much it'd be to replace? Could it be a DIY job? Thanks all for your replies.
  2. Note that the headlights on the Sport also have black/dark internals and the Sport grill has the front camera/washer. Not so simple to swap one for the other. If you wrap your grill, post pics as I'm curious how it'd look with the headlights.
  3. Yes, that is my understanding. That's why I'm hesitant to mess with the OEM lighting. Good luck!
  4. The LED Signature lights are NOT daytime running lights. They are for aesthetics only. The DRLs are actual bulbs in the headlight housing. In Canada these are on all the time, by law.
  5. The Ford OEM mats are fine, except the driver's side. The rear and passenger side cover enough carpet for the mild winter this year, but for next winter I'm seriously considering weathertech.
  6. Yep. I got the rubber mats too. Carpeted mats are in the trunk still in plastic.
  7. On ETIS it should show 2015+, which indicates the generation of vehicle. The 2016's are 98% similar to 2015's.
  8. We landed in a 2016 Titanium because we wanted all the features and needed the tow package and liked the fuel economy of the 2.0L FWD. The Sport looks and performs great but practicality still has weight in the long term.
  9. Here in Canada, many of the banks won't offer auto loans for less than $7500. They gotta make money some how.
  10. It has not been reset yet, nor have I refuelled either... Still running 'stock' gasoline. I'll try resetting it after work and see if that helps.
  11. I've been tracking the reported fuel economy for my 2016 2.0 Edge Titanium. The Trip Computer shows 15.9L/100km and has shown this ever since I picked it up from the dealership. The DTE and Fuel Guage work fine, and I even plugged in an OBDII device which is also reporting 16L/100KM on every single trip, regardless of driving habits, idling, or distance/speed. Is this a bug? Do I need to fill up a couple times before it will update?
  12. Ford.ca shows the Canadian version which is probably very close to the US version: http://bit.ly/EdgeCAbrochure Edit: upon closer inspection, the listed guide for 2016 is still the 2015 brochure.
  13. Well, we picked up our new 2016 Edge Titanium last night. The paperwork process was so long, the Edge was sitting just outside the window, I wanted to just hop in and drive home. Tested out all the features, everything works so far (fingers crossed). The wife is quite nervous about driving a larger vehicle (came from a Civic) and how difficult it will be to park in a garage downtown. The Edge is a bit bigger, but it has parking sensors which can help in tight places. After nearly 24 hours of ownership and ~50km of driving so far, here is my initial quality review with some pros and cons: Pros: -Quiet, smooth ride. Nice acceleration from the 2.0L Ecoboost FWD. (Have not tried Sport mode yet) -Tech features are great. Very responsive touch screen on Sync 3 -Sync 3: Fast, intuitive, easy to read at a glance. Applink works great with Spotify. -Sony 12-spkr Sound System is fantastic. Not loud and thumping, but great fidelity and nice range. -Hands-Free Lift Gate works well, really like this feature. -Remote Start: Awesome. Heated Seats & Steering Wheel: Fantastic! Cons: -Rear Passenger Door is misaligned by maybe ~8mm. Enough to notice up close. Doesn't seem to impact Door function -Sticky residue on the touch screen: The protective sticker left residue which makes flicking to scroll difficult. Need some cleaner and microfiber love. -Loud exhaust on cold morning start. Only lasted a minute or two while it warmed up. Had some burning smell too, but probably from being new. -Voice Commands: Both Sync 3 and Siri Eyes Free have listening issues. I'm still learning how to talk to the car, so maybe this will change. Overall, I'm happy with the Edge and feel the price we paid was fair (X-Plan with seasonal discounts) and the quality is as acceptable, and no surprises. I'll follow up in a few weeks with some longer-term impressions and mileage figures. Thanks to the community for sharing your experience so I could make an informed decision.
  14. It's really a shame. Similar to Uber runs afoul of local laws and consumers and legal taxis are left vulnerable. If a company like Tesla flaunts these laws similar to how Uber has, we may see lawmakers' hand be forced for them. What a way for a new president to leave their mark on Corporate America than to allow tech/auto darling Tesla to conduct business in the way customers actually want to acquire a vehicle.
  15. The whole dealership model is antiquated. I'd prefer to do all the ordering myself, online. Just like when I buy a new iPhone from Apple. I choose the specs, place my order, and get to track it through all the various steps until it arrives in my possession. Why can't Ford do the same with a $50,000 vehicle? Times are changing. The new players will force the old guard to reinvent themselves or face the same fate as the dinosaurs.
  16. Thanks guys! I'm not worried about the snow/salt, just part of living in the north. It'll be riding on Blizzaks and I'm definitely looking forward to heated seats and steering wheel!
  17. Etis shows 95 Octane added to the Edge from the factory. I wonder if that's the reason for poor initial fuel economy and part of engine break in.
  18. My order was placed Oct 31. Dealer emailed today that my Edge left Oakville on Friday and would be ready for pickup next week.
  19. I would be interested in quantifiable testing done on HID vs non-HIDS housings on the Edge. And also how different LED, DIY HID, or premium Halogens compare. We have enough members that we should be able to create some test methods that can be compared.
  20. Kona Blue was always available for Canadians on the 2016 Edge. It just wasn't on the website until recently. My dealer had to order the colour using the paint code.
