2015 edge low beam
knickerbocker replied to shockerpabla's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
For the low beam you really don't want LED as it's not bright enough for regular nighttime driving. Also, the standard projector housing is not fitted for HIDs. IMO, you'd be better off buying premium halogen bulbs that have a brighter, whiter light output to more closely match the LED lights on the front bumper. -
2015 - Heated seats on remote start or no?
knickerbocker replied to Mekeri's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
First, check to see if the heated seats are enabled on the remote start menu: On the Left Information Display, go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > Seats > set to Auto. -
W00t! Congrats, it should be yours very soon. I just checked ETIS and my Edge was built yesterday.

You might have a leak which is causing too much moisture inside the vehicle, but frozen condensation can happen to any vehicle.

Has your dealer given you a VIN yet? With that you can get the Window sticker. Then you should be able to follow up and get more details closer to the build and delivery dates.

I ordered Oct 31st.

Cool! I'm just down the 401 in London ON. My dealer told me it's usually 2 weeks from Build to Delivery, but there are many variables that could impact those times. I was told my build would be this week with potential delivery by end of January. We'll see...fingers crossed!

Special Order builds started last week. Expect people with early orders and live closer to Oakville ON to begin receiving their Edge in the next couple weeks.

That Alex on Autos video is very well done. It helped when we were deciding which options to order with our Edge. Interior noise level was an important point for me. On our 2007 Honda Civic it was impossible to hold a conversation at highway speed with all the wind/road noise. The HVAC was also like sitting in a wind tunnel. As you mentioned, to get a quiet interior you need to make the jump to a luxury brand, which I didn't want to do.

$200 every year or two is a bit rich. I might have to acquire a copy that fell off the back of a truck.

Not so... Ford is a very large global enterprise which must follow strict practices to ensure the business runs smoothly. As someone who manages a global cloud operation, I can tell you that it may take months and hundreds of hours of effort to correct a single typo. Usually smaller, less significant problems are left until the next major upgrade/change cycle which can be weeks or months away.

Thanks akirby. I'm wondering if it's worth kicking up a fuss about if it comes with A6. Will see....

I'm expecting to take delivery of my 2016 in a few weeks. It comes with Nav, should I expect the A6 or A7 version?

All Ford Edges Now on Factory Hold?
knickerbocker replied to xbillmh's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
With the 2016s arriving soon, anyone still waiting for a 2015 should cancel their order and put in for a new 2016. With the addition of Sync 3, the resale value on a '15 is going to suck compared to a '16 delivered around the same time. -
There might be a problem with the exhaust system if the smell happens when cold. Also, have you tried different gasoline?

Car does not recognise keys
knickerbocker replied to chris275's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I'll throw my voice behind the battery as the issue. My Honda key is dying as it gets colder in London, Ontario, and it's been hit and miss (more miss.) Replace the battery first and see. It's probably the cheapest out of all fixes, too. -

I don't see the value in the Sync Connect either. It'd be cool to schedule remote start, and lock/unlock with my phone, but none is necessary, even redundant. Currently I'm using a Mojio device plugged in to the OBDII interface which shows me fuel level, battery charge, location, speed, acceleration/braking/idling, and more. All for $169 (device + 1st year), then $10/year service fee. Much better deal.
