  1. Just checked my window sticker for my 2016 Titanium with 301A and it shows Interior: Ebony Perforated Leather. Googled other 2016 Titaniums with 301A/302A and they all show Perforated Leather. I would be quite pleased if my Edge showed up with the suede inserts, but I'm not holding my breath. Check your own VIN: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=
  2. @Blk182atn7, which Tesla model are you waiting for? One of my colleagues has a BMW i8 and loves it. $35 per month in electricity for a daily driver, not bad! Another friend is waiting on a Tesla Model-X, and I'm quite interested how it handles the daily abuse of a family utility. What will electric cars mean for DIY'ers? Considering they will be driven by software and sensors, there may be little that a home mechanic can do: http://consumerist.com/2015/05/20/gm-that-car-you-bought-were-really-the-ones-who-own-it/
  3. There won't be self-driving production vehicles for several more years. There are too many liability issues. Just look what happened when Tesla enabled Autopilot on their sedans... idiots were abusing the system and Tesla had to put on additional limitations. The key crossover technology is mapping, where an autonomous vehicle can maintain a lane on a snow-covered highway by only using nearby landmarks and beacon technology instead of purely camera-driven systems. We are witnessing the technology mature very quickly, but the transportation market refreshes vehicles every 10 years, so expect another 5 years before mass produced vehicles are 100% driverless and another 5 years after before all vehicles have an autonomous mode. One thing is certain, my 5-year old son will never need to have a driver's license unless he enjoys the 'thrill' of manually operating a motor vehicle.
  4. The Ambient Lighting on the Edge was a big draw for me to step up to Titanium from SEL. The wife wanted to save $$$ and get a loaded SEL instead, but I was able to convince her with some features like the driver memory seat and other creature comforts. All in all, the Edge has a tonne of techy features on all trim levels. While it's an expensive beast, it will probably be the last car I buy to drive. (I anticipate keeping my Edge for 6-8 years, then buying a self-driving car.)
  5. The second row Inflateable belts were an extra ~$500 well spent imo. It's a safety feature that's not for everybody's situation, though. The rear light bar, like the front 'Signature LEDs', are not bright enough for driving/DRLs but more are for aesthetics and an up sell item for the more expensive trims. Ford's marketing folks do a lot of research when assigning features to trim levels. From the Cold Weather Pkg to the Canadian Touring Pkg, the LED accents are a crossover with Lincoln and other luxury brands. They just play your emotions to get more money, and it works.
  6. I'd be willing to bet it's an alignment issue. Should be covered under warranty.
  7. @Melltimejr, what trim is your Edge? Ask the dealer when the order was submitted, if more than a week after you signed papers I'd ask for free extended warranty.
  8. Sync 3 does not currently support Apple CarPlay but Ford has stated that is *should* in the future. Hopefully it will come as an update during early 2016.
  9. cab2g and I are both waiting for Titanium trims. I assume Ford builds vehicles in similar trimmed batches, which might explain the slightly different process. I could also be making up facts.
  10. The automotive market and dealership business model hasn't changed much in forever. When Tesla, Apple and Google start selling cars to millennials you can bet they will either adapt or die. If companies don't give millennials what they want, they die. They(We) are changing how business works in more ways than the Boomer generation did. Older people call it entitlement or naivete but it's just how the world works. Factories work on Just-In-Time scheduling, Amazon does same-day delivery, and most people have access to more info on their smartphones than the President of the USA did only 15 years ago. IMO, Ford is one of the most technologically advanced automotive suppliers, but I agree that I'd love to see my car being built every step of the way.
  11. Awesome! Sounds like early customer orders are booked for the second week of January. The waiting game begins. I'll be checking status multiple times per day. lol
  12. Post #52 of this thread: The priority code on my order confirmation was 80, but order number was 0001; and I am assuming both of these changed between then and now. Also, it's a Canadian order, only 2 hours away from Oakville, so hoping it gets delivered before February.
  13. Email from my dealer: Got my 2016 VIN and scheduled build week of January 11th. Primary Features Build Date: 30.11.0002 Vehicle Line: Edge 2015- Engine: 2.0L EcoBoost (250PS) Transmission: 6-Speed Automatic - 6F Mid-Range Oakville Plant Build 2.0L EcoBoost (250PS) 6-Speed Automatic - 6F Mid-Range Edge 2015-
  14. If you have the PDF version of the owner's manual you can use the search function to find all references to "easy entry". On the left menu, with the left buttons on the steering wheel, press left a few times to get out of the screen you're on. Make sure your Edge is running and in Park. There should be several options: - Display Mode - Trip 1 & 2 - Fuel Economy - Driver Assist - Settings Use the Up/Down arrows on the left side of the steering wheel to choose settings. If you still don't see these options, do you see the MyKey indicator on? That might be why options are locked out.
  15. On the Left Information Display, go to Settings, Vehicle, Select Easy Entry/Exit - check enabled or uncheck disabled.
  16. Hopefully Apple comes out with a fix soon. There is usually a change freeze during the holidays, though, so I don't anticipate anything until the new year. Those of us waiting for 2016 Edges can breathe a sigh of relief as the issue does not seem to occur with Sync 3 (yet).
  17. Congrats on your 2016 order! Keep us updated on the build progress and don't forget to post pics when it arrives. I'm also waiting for a 2016 Titanium. Hoping to get it Late January. Oh and welcome to the forum, lots of great, knowledgable people here.
  18. Vadimus is correct. Late availability for Canada...again.
  19. So many systems in new vehicles are software controlled, and I think that some shops might still be stuck in a 'hardware world' that they cannot fathom working on a computer to fix a vehicle. Glad you got those settings back and thanks for keeping us updated.
  20. @duner44 Print out those pictures and also the receipt that Vadimus posted above to show the dealer. They should be able to get the replacement -B part and install under warranty.
  21. My dealer's business manager has assured me we can do bi-weekly payments. You can also choose the day of the week it comes out of your bank account for auto payments.
  22. I was looking at the Volvo SC90 before I ordered my 2016 Edge, but it was going to be far too expensive. Nice car, but for many of the same bells and whistles, the Edge Titanium is much better value.
  23. It seems that if you use the wireless relays you can control things such as engine stop/start, door locks, and immobilizer remotely. The downside is it requires your phone for bluetooth to connect to the cloud. My device, the Mojio, has a cellular modem that connects to the cloud without the need for a phone connection. It does fuel level/consumption, diagnostic codes, avg speed, idle time, harsh braking, heavy acceleration, location, engine/transmission status, and tow alerts. Keep in mind, many of these devices require a subscription to these services.
  24. Way to go, Cellbine! That must feel great.
