I've had issues with using LED's for my front turn signals, too. I went the EBay route for mine. Long story short, the rear, red bulbs I got work great - front and rear do exactly what I want them to do. The pure ambers I got for the front only seem to work on High. I sent them back and got another set, but had the same issue. I don't know if it's a programming issue on the front or what. I'm not a fan of the switchback, but at least it seems I now have a source for a set if I want. I don't want to go through a bunch of bulbs, trying to find the right set either. I have the factory ones in front for now, but at least it will make it easier setting up the resistors in the rear. Not sure how a spray on tint would work with the heat generated. On a side note, if you have the '07 style tail lights with the red cone, don't forget that you can't go too long with those LED bulbs. These 15w ones are 57mm (2.24 inch) long and have just enough room to fit (which is the seller that I used for the amber fronts): http://www.ebay.com/itm/281482509960?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Ford dealership said my DRL's are programmed on, but they are just not showing for whatever reason. As far as I know, the dealership is the only place that can program them on (at least for my year). I'm thinking of adding bracketed ones at a later point in time. If the '13 has those fake vents in the front, I think these could work, but there might be a cheaper version out there, too: http://drivebright.com/home/shop/ford-edge-led/

Could be something as simple as a bad button. Does the key start the car? If it does, I would get an EBay (or other website) key and do the self-programming. Once you determine that the EBay one work, pick up a couple more as back ups. This is the seller I used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400502917806?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They screwed up the first time and sent me an empty shell for another car, but did send me the correct one when I told them. First, get the key cut by someone you trust (preferably a automobile locksmith). Then you will have to do the owner's manual programming followed by the 8-second method for every remote key you have. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19198-need-a-new-key-fob-help-please/

I understand that heavier oil is harder to push through the engine, but 12.58mpg? It's like he's running 90w gear oil in there....I'm still thinking that it *might * be an engine issue or a fuel problem. I have no idea as to the quality of Kazakhstani gas. I also understand the drop in mileage because of AWD, but once again, 12mpg? I'm going off that OP is doing the math on fill ups rather than relying on the on-board computer to give him a number. Maybe stop and go city traffic is a lot different over there. He still does get 19mpg on the highway. Wouldn't oil drag that number down, too? At least swapping out the oil shouldn't be that expensive and has the added benefit of a clean engine. Since winter is already here, and it's the only 0w30 listed in blue, AND it's the only oil I've used personally, I'd go with the Mobil1 and see if that helps.

Are you saying that you think the power output of the engine was reduced so that people would pay a lower tax? If that is true, since the engine is controlled by a computer, it might be possible to change the computer program to increase power and efficiency. I am not that familiar with the Edge enough to know if a dealer could change the software or even if you could get another computer from North America (or Europe) and swap out the one that you have. I do not know how much of the engine you would have to change out to make the new software work such as fuel injectors or the mass airflow sensor. It may not be worth the hassle with cost and location of the computers and how many computers you would have to replace. I am just not that familiar with the Edge in America to start with and the Russian one even less.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Got my replacement amber LED bulbs. Still don't work in the front . Re-swapped the rear reds and I would be golden if they were amber. I might try one last time with a completely different bulb for the front. After that, it will just be stock. Figuring that the day sucked anyways, I took the plastic off the inner liftgate and tightened the plate that holds the rear emblem and the license plate lights. No more rattle PLUS I didn't screw up the plastic. -
Do you know if they change the gas formula between summer and winter? Possibly colder air = denser air, but lack of humidity might make things balance out. My average MPG is around 20 with most of it not dense city, nor highway. Also AWD drops the MPG, too. I have a FWD. Do you know of anyone else in town with a similar Edge? What are their numbers?

Also, told them to turn on the DRL's as long as they were in there. They said they were already turned on. Still not showing. Not that concerned, but something to think about. If the slippage continues, I might try and one more reset. -

Went to the dealership for PCM flash. Seems to have more power/better MPG, but tranny 3rd-4th slippage has returned. Just going to give time for now. -
I know the '07 head unit can't handle a camera unless you have it upgraded by avelectronics (which they do anymore for the '07). The real question was can the head unit be replaced with a newer model from either the Edge or MKX? Looking over EBay it seems that the mounting brackets change in '09. I also imagine that putting a THX head unit in without the THX amp is a waste of time, too.
-
I have an '07 Edge SEL with back up sensors, navigation, and 6-CD capabilities. I believe the head unit is the same in the '07-'08 vehicles (Ford/Lincoln). Is there a unit that came with back up cameras built into the screen? I don't think there are, but I wanted to check with the thinktank here to double check. I know some units had a Phone button, but I'm not concerned with that as much as I am wanting a OEM camera. I'm still planning on the mirror version, but had to ask.

+1 Or put the tailgate in the 'up' position and see what the camera looks like then. -
Could you of torn the intake hoses when you were removing/installing them? Any whistling noise under throttle?

Wow. I thought my filter was going to look like that when I bought at 129k. Someone swapped it out and now I have an extra. Don't do the foo-foo stuff though....

Hope everything turned out well. Do you still have access to the car?

As long as you didn't say 'Borat'....

Hitler? Really??? I was thinking Charlie Chaplin, but I guess 'he who wears it last, wears it the longest'..... EDST777, it's your car and only you know how far you want to take it. It comes down to budget and practicality. How much do you want to spend on appearance and how you want to be looked at. Painting the wheels and grill bright red might make a statement, but is that the statement you want to make? If you want to push the envelope of design, Google 'BMW art cars', then look at the Images. Think of your white car as a white canvas: what you do to the front hood should reflect in what you do to the rear lift gate. Of course, once you go down this path, it can be expensive and even more expensive to come back up it. As for your current color scheme, while I like enigma-2's idea of a colored grill, I would be concerned that it might end up looking like a clown nose. If you do go with a color for the grill, I would suggest black wheels with the same color as a stripe around the wheel to pull the car together. If you are going to leave everything as is it now, think about maintenance when it comes to your wheels. It looks like you have to drive in snow, so painting them may not last very well unless you powder coat them. I would stick with chrome, followed by black. White wheels (with a black ring of a tire around them) wouldn't look good in my opinion.

I have a set like that in 3157 amber. They are yours if you want them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321400273283?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They work well, but I was looking for something with a little more power and that stuck the LED's out more for side viewing. I also have a couple of white 15w 194's http://www.ebay.com/itm/281640608501?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Like I said, I need to lay off the LED's for a while.....I'm starting to have a collection. -
Personally, between the two choices, I think I like the first set of pictures with the black only coming up from the grill. Running the black all the way across the hood breaks up the hoodline too much for me: makes it look like it's floating away from the rest of the car.

Or, in this case: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-White-3157-SRCK-CK-30W-High-Power-LED-Back-up-Tail-Brak-Light-Bulbs-3156-4057-/201458751533?vxp=mtr&hash=item2ee7e0982d The end tip LEDs would act like a flashlight without the need for reflectors.... Stop talking about LEDs.....making me want to spend money.... -

I'll keep them. I'm too lazy to put the stock Edge reverse lights in for comparison against the Nighthawks. Like I said in another thread, it's not as much LED being brighter, it's more about having the right source of light for the lens reflector. When I had the LED bulb in my wife's CS-5, it was brighter(whiter) than the stock side, but there was no 'hotspot' of a focused beam. Granted this is with the bulbs that I used and omar302's bulbs look more like a projector-style, so he might get a better throw of light away from the vehicle. Omar might clarify, but it looks like most of the LED chips are inside the tip of bulb, pointed backwards to a reflecting ring that throws light in 360 degrees. If it does have a higher lumens rating than stock, it is benefited by having the correct angle to hit the reflectors in the right way to throw the light away from the vehicle. This thread is dealing with headlights, but it gives an example of what I talking about: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?384923-White-wall-amp-lux-comparison-LED-H11-LL-H11-100-H9 -

Took out the LED reverse lights and replaced them with GE Nighthawks. Bought an extra set, so I tried them in the wife's CX-5, too. Couldn't tell the difference between stock. Does seem a little bit brighter back there - tint is darker than my liking, but with the window down it seems decent. Might try some 30w LED's next, but I'm somewhat done with playing with the lights for now. Nighthawks: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017OFTB8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 -
Now you are making work for me.... Spending too much time and money on LED bulbs. Need to get a new HVAC blower, liftback struts, mudflaps before I worry more about some stupid bulbs. Then again, that's peanuts compared to what Mckenzie has to worry about.

I saw the in-tank fuel filter earlier in a parts search. I guess I was in denial because I wanted an inline filter.
-
What about the fuel lines? How much damage could be done to them? As long as you are rolling around under the body.... Rock Auto has tanks for about $850. Dunno about quality. +1 on the locking gas cap. As an aside......do these things have fuel filters?
