  1. I just used my HF floor jack at the indicated lift point all naked like...
  2. Fitment is one thing, I was also considering ride/handling.
  3. Why not put the 32's on now? Yes, there is additional cost for installation, but in case something doesn't work out you have instant replacement tires. Not sure how much tread you have left, but at this point, to me, they would have the same value as bald tires since they are something you don't want. Would give you a little breathing room to rethink things if the 32's don't work out.
  4. The link loops back on itself (back to this thread) for me. https://circuitboardmedics.com/ https://circuitboardmedics.com/2007-2010-ford-edge-pcm-ecm-repair/
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXuvVqOGwbU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg7rmtKZ360 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW2vJsZ5Bgw Don't forget the heated PVC valve (you will love the difference in price from the unheated one).
  6. I got mine flashed. Does that count as touching? Is Mommy going to give me a spanking?
  7. Edit: I forgot to add that they also suggested replacing the battery because it was running a little low. The same POS WalMart battery that the dealership installed when the car was traded in a year ago.
  8. They said it was the rear axle that needed the alignment. Must of kicked over a bit in the last 146k miles. Need to save up for the OSS and TSS swap out first.
  9. Went to the dealership to get "The Works". Needed a tire rotation and didn't want to spend 3 hours waiting at the Sprawlmart. They did suggest a 4-wheel alignment, but then again, they always seem to suggest something. Stopped by the self wash to scrub the front seats down with the carpet cleaner attachment. Not the most ideal, but the dog drool smell was getting a little much even for me. Left the windows open while I played with the horns to see how I can install Cadillac horns instead. Might have to take a trip to the local U-Pullit to see if I can find another set so I can steal the wiring (for the connector) and maybe rig up a relay. May not be worth it since the Caddy horns are negative ground and the Edge ones seem to be a closed loop. Hung the horns without touching metal and they still work. WeatherTech window shade things came in and are installed. Have to wait till tomorrow to see how well they work. Edit: I also painted those little triangles that indicate where to place the jack white. I know it's rather self-explanatory as for placement, but I am somewhat nerdy about things like that.
  10. Your best bet is to install an aftermarket system. You would be able to have just about any feature you want, plus wire in a rear camera at the same time. I have a 2007 also and wanted a back up camera, but the newer head units are not the same as ours. The only real issue is cost of replacing the unit with another used one (and what warranties may come with that) vs. a similarly equiped new one. Can't suggest what to replace it with, but someone might chime in. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/21402-2007-mkx-wnav-options/?hl=%2Bhead+%2Bunit&do=findComment&comment=160233 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/21371-install-complete-of-replacement-head-unit/?hl=%2Bhead+%2Bunit
  11. Look for 'TSS' and/or 'OSS'. Others will be along shortly to fill the details in better. In the meantime: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20201-ford-edge-2007-2010-tss-and-oss-failures-will-happen-symptoms-explained/
  12. Final update. On the passenger side arm, there is a spring that holds the arm against the windshield. It's the joint that bends when you want to lift the arm away. Anyhoo, when the arm is in the down position, the post side of the spring extends out and makes contact with the glass. I tried using pliers to squeeze the spring back, but that didn't go well, so I wrapped the area with electrical tape until I can get to the dealership to buy a replacement arm. I poked around to get an idea as to what an arm would cost, but most listings are for the rear arm, not the front. I'm going to be guessing in the $25-$30 range. If it's more than that, I'll try to get a part number and do some deeper digging.
  13. The cruise control is to the left of the wheel and the audio are to the right on my '07. Is there are country where the controls are swapped? The idea would be to get the foreign jobbies, either trace the wire down the column to where it connects to a harness, or make the left wire go right and the right wire go left with the end result I can control my audio with only my left hand, elbow out the window..... Probably more trouble than it's worth, but I can dream.....
  14. Mine wasn't working when I bought it. Simple remove and replace.
  15. Further wiper update: I pounded the rivet holding the arm down a little tighter to take up any slack there. Then (bear with me), I put a dollop of Shoe Goo on the hook ends of the arms and re-inserted the wiper blades (stop screaming at your monitor). This should tame all the wiggling parts in the arms. Didn't work as well as I hoped, so I decreased the pressure on the windshield by bending the arms slightly out. As of this point, all the metallic squeaking is gone and there is only a slight 'thump' when the arms change direction. We have a low pressure system in the area, so I will have a lot of opportunity to test this approach out.
  16. I tried crimping the joints with a pair of channel locks while in place. The idea was to tighten the joints so they wouldn't vibrate as much. It seemed to work a little. I might try to take them off and really let them have it. Still need to stop by the dealership to price out the cost of a new set. RockAuto doesn't have them.
  17. Took the top cowl off. Tri-Flowed everything. Tri-Flowed all joints on arms. Now almost worse than before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3FkNfxnvPU
  18. Metal squeak sound is still there. Must be something to do with the aftermarket glass. Last test is to wrap the wipers in a soft cloth and see if it's the actual blades.
  19. took the upper cowling off to access the windshield wiper motor linkage. Threw Tri-Flow around the room, di-electric on the harness and put everything back together with anti-sneeze. Now just have to wait for the rain to see if it makes the horrible metal screeching noise. It came with a new windshield (aftermarket) when I bought it and the wipers were off their marks by a little. Not sure if that was a cause, but they are on mark now.
  20. Was watching a behind-the-scenes video on YouTube about the cars in Mad Mad:Fury Road and started wondering what lake pipes on the Edge would look like....
  21. If you hadn't gotten a new one, I could of thrown in a squeaky blower motor, too.
