  1. Does anyone have any experience with Pilot LED's? Swore I was going to leave the lights alone, but those little buggers were tempting me at the WalMart with their 'Try Me' button. Installation was easy and I have parking as well as turn lights. Hyperflashing, yes, but I still have two resistors ready to install when I get the gumption. Once I get the resistors in I'll try my hand at soldering again. Understand the principle, but can never get it to flow.
  2. My BMW would go into 'limp mode' when it warmed up. Long story short, it turned out to be a bad MAF. Any chance the CAI was over oiled and gummed up your MAF? I used to run the K&N stock version of a filter until I just didn't want to deal with getting the right amount of oil on the filter.
  3. YMMV: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19370-2013-3-button-key-fob-unlock-button-stopped-working/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19198-need-a-new-key-fob-help-please/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19050-replacement-key-fob/
  4. I had one key with my '07. Saved about $30 by going to a full service locksmith over the dealer. Once done, bought the rest of the 4 I have off Ebay for about $20 a pop. If you do buy from a 3rd party to get your second key, make sure it's the right one for your car. Both dealer and locksmith may charge you for the programming even if it doesn't work. That's why I suggest getting the second key from a known source, then you can play with the rest of them. Search this forum (or just my posts) for possible key suppliers. You will want a third key in the very short future as insurance.
  5. VDO came today. 10 minute install. No more low fan squeaking. I do have another project in the works and I'll be sharing that shortly.
  6. Just installed said Monroe's yesterday. A lot better than the originals, but personally wish they were a *tad* stronger - the point they take over and lift the tailgate a bit lower after opening. Overall, pleased with them.
  7. Installed new lift struts per macbwt. Ordered VDO blower motor from Amazon.
  8. Most reviews went back and forth as to sound after installation. Found a VDO on Amazon for $80. http://www.amazon.com/VDO-PM9313-Blower-Motor/dp/B004ONL83W Will pull the trigger after stopping by O'Reilly to what they have. Need to run a quick errand and they are on the way. Not that tough of a job to replace, but with shipping it's always nice to get it right the first time.
  9. Ordered a new blower motor as the old one was squeaking. RockAuto was out of stock on the VDO, so I used the part number to order online from AutoZone (20% off, free shipping - $100 to my door). Old motor had a slot for the pigtail to power it. The new one has a pigtail that connects to the stock pigtail. Fit is good, but a hair looser than original. Marked as 'Unimotor', '75817 12V 15264', 'Made in Canada'. I'm going to run down to the AutoZone for confirmation, but did I get hoodwinked? Or am I just being anal? UPDATE: Returned it and going to order from RockAuto. Go with Motorcraft for $125 or is 4 Seasons good enough for $50?
  10. Jsenke, Is the car back on the road or are you still waiting on parts?

  12. You go from Off to where the dash warning lights come on. Another slight twist will engage the starter. I would try a 7-count for all the keys; that amount of time falls within the time needed for all three keys. I can't remember exactly if I removed the new key after the time needed, but my gut is saying I did. Double looking at your original post, does the new key have the same number of buttons as your old key? I listed the seller, but the link is for my 2007 3-button. You need whatever button count your old keys have. My step-daughter has a 2010 with a 4-button and I recently ordered this one for her: http://www.ebay.com/itm/381429819389?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I hope I didn't steer you wrong with the first link....
  13. Most of my tubes were hard plastic and straight enough to see through. Don't cost nothin' to double check. I also ran the pump with the nozzles detached to see what the flow was like.
  14. Are we digging deep into the guts of the tranny? Is it a removal or in place? If it's not too nosey, cost? I have the books, but too lazy to read through the procedure (they are in the garage at the moment).
  15. PCV can be done without removing the intake manifold, but it's not fun. At 82k, you are on the short side of plug replacement, but in for a penny, in for a pound.... Don't forget the intake manifold gaskets if you go that route. Watch the videos.
  16. 2007 and not AWD, but mine was having the same issue. Did a flush and flash and it's 98% better. Can't say 100% because I might be looking for any sort of hiccup and from Park to Reverse can be harsh at times. Flush can be done at your trusted shop, but the flash is dealer only. Mine was roughly a Benjamin for each. Took a couple of hundred miles for everything to even out. How many miles are on it? I didn't have any codes on mine, either.
  17. For roughly $10 you can have brand new ones that will probably outlast your ownership of the car. Then again, I had an '07 and they just crumbled when I tried to remove them. What so you mean 'sealed hood'? Isn't it just a piece of hard felt held in with large plastic rivets? Place a flathead screwdriver under the flat section as close to center and pull out. They should come out fairly easy. Once they are all out, remove the felt(?) piece. You might see where a section of your tubing has come apart. If I remember right, there is hard plastic tubing as well as the connectors. If everything is crumbling in your hands, make sure to clear anything inside the tube before re-assembly. Being my car had been in the South all it's life, the nozzles disintegrated, but the tubing was fine. Of course, mine is a lot older than yours......
  18. You mean these dollar store specials?: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Ford-EDGE-Projector-Head-Lamps-p/2lhp-edg07g-tm.htm
  19. Since I have the stock incandescent bulbs in the front, I thought it would be a great time to install the resistors in the rear. I forget all the detailed info (I know I should of taken pics...), but it ended up connecting the two wires other than the purple one. Back to normal flashing speed. I'll do a more professional job later.
  20. '07 bought at 129k, now at 131k. Flush and Flash, washer pump and one nozzle replacement, new plugs/PCV valve, with a HVAC blower needed. Wanted: new liftgate struts, splash guards, WeatherTec floor mats, rear-view camera, custom-made platform for dog hauling. More pleased with it than I thought I would be.
  21. If you are talking about my DRL's, from what I understand with the 07's, 80% power is sent to the low (high? I have to double check) beams when the switch is in the Off or Parking position. When I got my tranny flashed, I told them to make sure that they turn the DRL's on. They said they are in the ON position, but for whatever reason they are not showing. I normally run in the auto-light mode, but have turned it off to check for DRL's.
