  1. Yes, Actually I bought a Big syringe... https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075NKV4CR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It has measurements on it so it helps for an accurate fill. In my case I had the front end up on supports, so if filling such that fluid runs out the fill hole, I would have overfilled because of the slant the vehicle was on.
  2. Hi, I have been monitoring the the torque converter slip. It seems, even in Sport mode, the transmission up shifts as high as possible ( like 5th gear when only going 35 mph) and then constantly locks and unlocks. I notice this driving on my way home which is a twisty 30mph ride with about 1000 feet elevation change. The tranny will get to 210F, which seems hot. I can only guess that the strategy is to lower rpm and save gas?
  3. There should be a funnel in the spare tire compartment :-)
  4. Interesting. I didn't take a picture, but on my 2017 sport, the drain plug is in a different location, at the very bottom, pointing down. When drained I got 22oz.
  5. Hi All, I replaced the fluid on my 2017 Sport. 22 oz came out of the PTU! Double the capacity stated in the user manual. I filled with OEM synthetic and it took 22 oz as well. The change was done at 7500 miles, sort of early for this, but since crawling under for the oil change, it was an easy change to do. The fluid was liquid, and dirty. The drain plug has a magnet, and had typical shavings on it. Does anyone know if there was a design change in 2017? Btw the fill and drain plugs are Torx 50. However the T50 felt a little loose but worked. The torque spec I found was 33 ftLbs. While I did torque it to that, that did feel pretty tight. The seal is metal to metal, no o-ring or crush washer, so perhaps that tight makes sense.
  6. When I launch at 2000 rpm with traction control off, I get will spin. 2017 sport with AWD. I have the 21" wheels and stock tires. I am using 32 psi. @GT500R did you tell Torrie open the AGS or did you do it?
  7. Hi, As I'm still learning, I have a question: snmjim's run with a DA of 1893 is quite a high DA? I have been do some runs in San Jose area where my D/A was around -1000. Also how to get no wheel spin....are you getting positive boost at launch?
  8. I found this on the 2Gfusion forum, have not tried it. Gear Selection - Informs what gear you are in at all times. Might be handy for those wanting to know what gear they're in while driving gear automatically and to watch how it shifts. PID: 221E12 Long Name: Gear Selection Short Name: Gear Equation: A
  9. Okay, the easy to spot variables in the HP Tuner is a set shutters to a % open. It doesn't indicate if that is temperature dependent. I haven't found any variables for when they should start opening, but I'll snoop around some more. Initially, I was sad to fork out the money for the HP Tuner because it is so inconvenient, but must say I am having fun snooping around. I found where you can have the gear displayed in both drive and sport mode....its the simple things that make me happy...
  10. I did the Tstat install. But differently. I drained the radiator, removed the reservoir tank and twisted my hands in every position to remove the 2 bolts on the housing, but was able to do it. I was weary of putting any pressure on the plastic oil pan for removing the engine mount. The good thing is if you drop anything it falls straight down to the floor. Actually draining the radiator was a painful process. The petcock is on the Driver's side and hard to access. Best if you have a wing nut tool to turn the petcock. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimages-na.ssl-images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F61oV692PyRL._SY355_.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FPAGOW-HD17921-Hurricane-Wing-Driver%2Fdp%2FB075VPVWQ8&docid=knAiJe5Ravo1_M&tbnid=yUhKTuO0vHjdyM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwiI452XyqDXAhULS2MKHZ3oAdsQMwjDASgFMAU..i&w=355&h=355&client=safari&bih=1155&biw=1573&q=wingnut%20tool&ved=0ahUKEwiI452XyqDXAhULS2MKHZ3oAdsQMwjDASgFMAU&iact=mrc&uact=8
  11. hi, I posted this this on the facebook forum: Myths of lower Tstat. I put in the 170 Tstat. If you do this but don't do a tune you don't get as much benefit. I loaded the stock today and noticed my temps hitting 210! I got out and looked at the shutters and they were closed. When tuned I have not hit 210. I am theorizing the tune leaves the shutters open. I need to load the tune and check. Well, in quick little test I put the tune back in. The shutters stay closed until I hit 190ish idle. I drove around the block, temp hit 195 and the shutters were partially open. So I think my theory is wrong.
  12. Nice post. I motivated to do my first change at 10K
  13. Hi, My tune is done. It is a 91 performance tune, and I had the upshifts firmed up. After I learned about brake boosting I did some 0-60 runs and so far my best thus far is 5.3sec. (75F, low humidity, 200') I have the heavy 21" wheels. I'm happy, and for those with 2017 that go with Unleashed, it should be a much simpler process. That said, if SCT ever supports the 2017 cars I would like one of those for simpler logging setup. While going through the tune I was getting disappointed because I didn't seem to feel a difference, but I was just doing Wot after Wot. Now that I'm driving it for fun, I love it and notice it. Makes me want to race beemers off the line :-)
  14. Hey, Stupid question time. I want to go to a drag strip to get an official time. Not really race. So my question is about those timing slips everyone posts, is that from when you start moving or when the light says GO?
  15. Kinda funny...I have been a "normally aspirated engine" lifer. I'm a Ford guy, wife's BMW. So I always made sure the Beemer was normally aspirated. Fast forward to today; 335i and Edge Sport...both turbo, both direct injected...heavily on the learning curve. My basic goal, kept silent until now, is to have my tuned edge beat her untuned beemer off the line to 60! Anyway, currently thinking about ordering the walnut shell rig for cleaning the beemer valves. Too early for me to worry about the Edge. I would like to hear more about catch can success. Odd that one would even imagine the "grocery getter" sparring with, well, anything other than Chevy :-)
  16. Okay my engine tune is done. I am checking about firming up the shifts. Torrie says I have a 91 performance tune. I haven't found a flat place to really test. It seems from 8-60 mph I am 1/2 sec faster (actually .56), and from 8 to 80 a sec faster (actually 1.04). My Edge has the Ford 21 Sport rims. Also it is a 2017, and Torrie used the HP Tuner, where I would do many 0-60 and 0-80 WoT and send him the logs and then he would make changes. I am using the HP Tuner software for logging the times, I assume that is pretty accurate? how does that look?
  17. I use Forscan, OBDIILink and HP tuner. and all three give the same value. The info requested: Module: ECM OBD Mode: 22 PID: 1E1C Equation (((Sign(A)*256)+B*(9/8)+320)/10
  18. Cool...currently getting a 91 tune with Unleashed on a 2017 sport.
  19. I will in a few days. Don't have the stuff with me currently
  20. You can get the tranny temp from many of the OBDII scanners that do real-time monitoring. I am using OBDLINK (wiFi version) with the Iphone App that it comes wtih and with Forscan. Also I am getting tuned with HP Tuner device that has that and many many other things to monitor!
  21. When you go into reverse it should auto tilt the mirror.
  22. Yeah, Torrie doesn't like talking it seems. I'm using HP Tuner on 91 octane. SCT told me they may never update for 2017 edge :-(
  23. Here everything I found...related to the Edge.... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yax6zfhZYj2joBczEeruqKh9X5Qhee3C0ngilqwTA7E/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qf2gYgkhmsX-dnFO3Ki0nYUvr7aeLKsHsA0WxhDns1s/edit#gid=0 Distance Alert / Indication Figured this one out this morning... I believe this is already factory enabled on Mondeo's, but not on our Fusion's. Note: This mod requires the vehicle to have Adaptive Cruise Control and the Forward Collision Warning System with the Red HUD bar on the top of the dashboard. CCM: 764-01-01 xxxx x2xx (some newer CCM modules may have an extra byte, just ignore it... ex: 764-01-01 xxxx x2xx xx) - existing value should be a 1. We are changing it to a 2. IPC: 720-01-02 xxxx 9xxx (adding a 4 to existing value, mine was a 5 thus it is now a 9). Distance Alert / Indication "If the distance to the lead vehicle is small, the red warning light illuminates a small bar in the windshield." Some instrument clusters also support displaying it as a Distance Indication picture above the vehicle icon as well. Basically lights up half the red alert bar when you’re driving to close to another vehicle. It’s like a babysitter or when you have your driving learners permit and your mom is like slow down you’re too close hahaha. ---- Lincoln Ambient Lighting - Fixes Incorrect Color Choices When Using Lincoln Theme: BCM (BdyCM) - 2014+: 726-31-02: xxxx 07xx xxxx Reference: Lincoln Theme (Master Enable): 7D0-01-02: 8xxx xxxx xxxx Note: Car MUST be power cycled to see theme changes.
