  1. Police mode means if the car is running and you get out and leave it running with the fob in your pocket then someone can't get in and drive away. I think the answer to your question is yes independent of police mode. you may have to turn the ignition on, but not start it. For now I use seat memory 3 as the same as seat memory 1 but with the mirror tilted down.
  2. Because SCT does not support the 2017 Edge Strategy Code :-( Thus for a data logged tune then HP Tuner is the only solution for 2017. I believe LMS pre-canned from 2015 is the other option. I'm not sure I've heard of a 2017 using LMS yet.

  4. Just a quick update. Still in a load new image->0-60WOT->upload log -> repeat.. This is Torrie's 1st 2017 and is being very methodical.
  5. Hi, I use the Wifi obdlink and iPhone and a Mac running VMware fusion/Windows 7. I have posted on the 3 mods I gave done on the 2017 Edge - Lane change signalling to 5, removing the double honk, locking in park if FoB is not in the car. I have ben looking at both Fusion and Explorer forums for codes. BTW I also have HP Tuner which exposes some cool mods, like displaying what gear you are in. Sadly the software does not expose the raw info. I will. Publish the list i have compiled so far,l tomorrow, typing this from my phone
  6. Hopefully it will be as fast as one! This remote tuning/logging process takes quite a bit of time. Today the tuner changed the name of the file, we were on 5 iterations on the previous file. Without the laptop holder I think my laptop would be in pieces on the floor!

  8. Hi All, I chose the data logging feedback loop for tuning. That requires the HP Tuner standard suite software. On the Facebook Ford Sport group I have been documenting my daily progress, but that tends to disappear over time. So I will cut and paste my notes hear in hopes in maybe useful to others so here it goes...somewhat unedited for grammar and spelling Day 1 Equipment Macbook Pro USB-C ports, MAC OS 12.6, VMware 8.5.8 and Windows 7 Installed VCM, and had to manually install drivers from the included USB Stick Entered the Application Key which was included on the documentation in the box Connected to Ford Edge. The Tuner box did a firmware update when I tried to read All. Then I retried Read All…dash blinks some warning signs and goes dark. Progress bar says it will take 9 mins to read. Typing this while waiting to to complete. After the read was complete, the Edge came back to life. I saved the file. The Software told me if I wanted to make changes I would need a license. I think that is a Credit, of which it says I have 8 Credits available. So I am a little confused. If Torrie modifies this file multiple times to perfect the tune, does it use a credit on each modification? Nope he can modify the file many times Sept 29 Day 2 Kinda Scary Had to install TeamViewer for Torrie to have remote access. So my config Macbook -> VMware-> Windows-> TemanViewer and USB-C-> USB2-> Serial. yech However It works. I burn two credits of the 8 that come with the tuner. Torrie is now on my computer adjusting parameters all over the place more to come. The first Pass of a tune was loaded. Everything started and seemed correct. Also there seemed to be no performance differences. Made some loggs…WOT and in 3rd gear 2-4 k Oct 2 After 2nd version installed did the idle warm up and no issues. Did a 0-60 WOT and it went fine but no faster. Well today is a fail. Very weird problem the the HP TUNER VCM Scanner software...it literally quit logging some of the PIDs. Thus Torrie cannot adjust the tune. The VCM software and the layouts menu seem a little flakey. I'm wondering if I messed up a layout and even though it shows the PIDs maybe its not really looking at them. Anyone with VCM scanner experience? Oct3 Okay made an interesting discovery. The config file for the VCM scanner was actually for a ford fusion sport. So pids may be in different locations. I rebuilt the file from the defaults for the 2017 Edge. Will test that they all work and send off the log file. I am on the 3rd update. But for the 2nd and 3rd downloads we realized logging was not complete. Oct 4 Today was a better day than yesterday...and tomoorow gets a little scarey..I need to do a 20-80 WOT...and not get a ticket. On the 5th load I finally believe I am actually getting faster...but not much yet. Problem is my runs on the 1st and 2nd loads were at a different place the 3,4,5th loads...I played hooky today. I wanted to solve the VCM scanner issue. It seems like it has a registration phase where it can miss some of the variables you want included in the scan. Start and re-start a few times to get a reliable scan. Windows has been more reliable ha ha. I don't think Torrie has done anything for shifts or throttle response yet. One cool thing is in Sports mode it always shows you what gear your in in the Tach window. Did the do the 0-80 WoT and sent off the log file. Still having trouble with the scanner software dropping logging of some varaibles while logging. Starting to read HP Tuner forums to find solutions.
  9. I had to install a laptop holder for the tuning process...the HP Tuner requires a PC (in my case a Mac running VMware Fusion and Windows 7)
  10. H i I am in the process of getting my 2017 tuned using HP Tuner and Unleashed Tuning. I have been documenting my experinces on the Facebook Sport Edge group, but I will start a new thread in the 2.7 engine section about my experiences and progress. At the of writing this note we are still in the tuning process.
  11. Any update on the Tune? I am just starting with unleashed on my 2017. I have to us HP Tuner hardware as SCT has not updated for the 2017 Strategy code.
  12. Sorry late to this thread, 2017 with build date of Oct 2016. No issues technically or functionally. I only have 4500 miles, but hey are all long trip miles. At first I wasn't,t sure of its values, but I would get it a agin. In fact I'm looking at new F150 and 250 trucks and checking the adaptive steering box as part of the options

  14. I haven't noticed this. I have a curvy road where I go between 1,2 3 up and down. It will let me downshift and the resulting rpm is 4000. I don't recall 4-3 but that seems like a common downshift. Were you in Normal or Sport mode?
  15. Sorry for delayed response. The security mode does lock the transmission in park. You can't shift it without the Fob in the car. The mirror trick works on the Explorer, thats where I found these settings. So I think it will work.
  16. Well I put a 1000 miles of freeway with 5 blinks and it is working for me. I tend hit the blinker and then shoulder check. Sometimes there is someone really close and it takes a bit to change lanes. I was going to do the reverse passenger side mirror tilt, but using the 3rd seat preset seem like a good idea.

  18. I read somewhere that the motor mounts are fluid filled...is that right? I believe I read that someone had a leaking motor mount that needed to be replaced. But don't quote me on any of this.
  19. I found it annoyed others...in that they thought I was honking at them. Still haven't had time to try the police mode. BTW my setup for programming is Forscan running under windows 7 under VMWare on a Mac with the wifi OBDII dongle. So I tend to have to "prepare" myself for the programming.

  25. Been using the wifi obdII link for a while now. With iPhone I used the app it comes with and Forscan. I also use Forscan on a mac with VMware Fusion, windows 7 and the at worked fine. In fact I disabled the double honk. So no complaints. Pulled strategy code, 2017 Edge not supported by SCT. Now considering HP tuner with unleashed tunes. Anybody done that?
