  1. Comparing Dragy to OBDLink Same test location as the Dragy vs nGuage. OBDLink is WiFi or Bluetooth ODB dongle. The phone app does reading of fault codes, real-time reading of sensors, and performance logging. Allows you to enter PIDs as well and make your own guages Results Dragy 0-60sec 6.38 OBDLink 0-60secs 6.37 DA = 1050 Doesn't get much closer than that. Also attached a shot of the guages you can configure for real time monitoring
  2. Hi, I brake boosted, about 2500 rpm which had 6 psi boost according to nGuage. You can see almost see that from the graph I posted. That launch caused my tires to spin, so I need to back-off. Launching at 2000rpm seems to have boost at 0 and is slower by .2sec. My Edge was heavy this run, I was primarily comparing the two units. My best run using nGuage monitoring is about 6 on that merge ramp, DA was -1000. I am not consistent at launching, but trying hard. I will make some more test runs soon.
  3. Oh hi, Not sure where to post performance monitoring, but I guess nGuage, Dragy and other performance monitoring devices are Accessories. I compared nGuage runtime logging to Dragy. nGuage gets its data from OBDII and Dragy is GPS based. Dragy gives you a nice little graph and includes slop data. nGuage, which logs a lot of variables gives you an excel file and you make your own graphs, with any info you want. Attach is a Dragy screen shot and a graph from nGuage data. They seem to be pretty close. Dragy 0-60 6.48s nGuage 0-60 6.50s DA for this run was ~1500 I am tuned with Unleashed, but conservatively and using 91 octane. 21 stock heavy wheels. and lots of stuff in the car. I was just wanting to compare the devices. I will be doing more experimenting
  4. I believe if the PTU gets to hot the vehicle reverts to front wheel drive only....I sure I read that somewhere.....
  5. How was the engine running? I guess I'm indirectly asking how much build-up must occur before engine performance is affected. (I installed a JLT at 8,000 miles)
  6. Sorta late to the party, but I have both HP Tuner and nGuage for my 2017 Sport. I got the nGuage because it is easier to use...HP tuners requires a PC...not very portable. Then nGuage does not have as many parameters as the HP Tuner. Should I have a engine issue I can use nGuage to return to stock right away which can be handy. It is easy to start logging with nGuage, I even use it to log 0-60 times.
  7. Thanks, considering doing this, just collecting info. No stranger to working on cars in general, but this my first turbo vehicle that I will venture into.
  8. I also looked around a while back. I wonder when the EDGE ST comes out if we can order those shocks...and if they will be better than current stock. I have lowered yet, but I did order the stiffer rear sway bar. It hasn't arrived yet.
  9. He started from scratch on the 2017. I was his 1st 2017 Edge, new strategy codes, so I guess he was playing it safe? I was wondering how you are getting tuned...onsite at Unleashed or logs sent to Torrie.
  10. Hi, I have been logging the shifting as well as the lockup of the torque converter in Sport Mode (2017 Edge). Has anyone looked at the shifting strategies in the Edge? (Perhaps other Fords as well) In Sport mode, the transmission goes to 5th very quick. I drive a windy road home and it goes to 5th while going up hill and at 30 mph. When hitting the gas it unlocks the torque converter but unless I push the pedal hard, it doesn't downshift. When I use the paddle shifters I’m 2nd and 3rd. I thinking have having the shift strategies changed. I am tuned with Unleashed. Before I go down this road...any comments? I think I want it to hang out in the lower gears longer depending on load. I only want this in Sport mode, and yes I think it will decrease gas mileage.
  11. Your working with Unleashed? How? I did my tune with Torrie using HPtuner VCM suite. I live in CA, getting my 2017 tuned required a lot of wot launches and logging...more than 50. He just recently (last week) asked me to do a run log some new variables. I have now switched to using nGauge simply for the capability to switch tunes easily (no PC required)
  12. Could you just re-mount the tracks further back. On problem with getting further back might be the Arm rest isno longer in a good spot to use?
  13. You can experiment by recording some white noise and playing it back while driving :-)
  14. I like your pillar pods, can you give any info on them? I want to instal Nguage on the pillar
  15. I have been monitoring the shutters, quite amazing how much fiddling goes on. I cant correlate it to temps. At hwy speed they typically close. Now I have set to be open fully, and trying to see if gas mileage changes. I doubt it will, but the claim is gas is save when closed.
  16. Wow, so just catching up on the thread, what is the cost, is this still a special order.
  17. Your Intercooler temps are jumping? What they getting up to? Really seems odd to lose 1/2 second.
  18. Grill shutters and PID Today I will play with HPTUNER and the setting of the Grill Shutters. In the settings are grill shutter settings for A and B. Not sure if A and B are for different grill shutter circuits or if A and B are for Drive and Sport mode...anyone know? I don't have the codes for Forscan Here is the PID Grill Shutter PID for monitoring Grill Shutters 0-1 where 1 fully open PCM OBD Module 22 PID Number 0707 Equation A/255
  19. Perhaps of interest..... 20. Hi, I've been logging my "Manifold Charge Temp" when doing 0-60 WoT it goes to about 160 in the summer and 100 in the winter (well Ca winter which is like 40-50). So assuming I am just using this thing as a dog hauler and not a track machine, any reason why I should think about upgrading the intercooler? What about passing from 60-85, maybe I should log that?
  21. Yes every Ford I have had, and even a BMW, always are high compared to logging manually. I see 1.5~ 2.5 depending on the vehicle (Edge, Escape, F250). It is very repeatable and consistent.
  22. How do you know if the BOV is working correctly? When I do a WOT my boost is at 17.5 and during the shifts spikes to 22. Manifold pressure is 31 spiking to 37. Is the BOV releasing pressure at those spikes? Just curious.
  23. Not sure that the OEM PTU is "crap," as it is 100% synthetic. My way of thinking is that regular fluid changes are key. But that said, next change I'll probably go with an ester based synthetic. After the free 5K dealer change I then changed the engine oil and PTU at 7500. BTW, I believe the dealer oil for the engine is only semi-synthetic so I wanted that out of there soon as possible. I am more worried about our valves coking as a result of the direct fuel injection than actual engine lubrication...hence the desire for synthetic engine oil. I have not yet decided on a catch can....can't really find definitive answer on it.
