  1. Was a fun read. Found out mine is built already on the 19th and waiting to be shipped but no eta. Got my window sticker yesterday.
  2. I do wonder how much that affects power and mileage though. Kind of disappointed max I can find around here is 91.
  3. The st is rated for better mileage than my 13. Sure it requires premium and have no idea what I will truly get for mileage but the power and mileage was part of what made me decide on an st and if it gets 2 mpg better than my 13 it almost offsets the cost of premium.
  4. Does make you wonder what the did do then besides a tune since the graphs are different. Smaller turbos?
  5. I'd have to go reread some posts but it's not that big of a deal I just thought I was missing something that would make it any different than a sport. The wait sucks lol. But my wife really wanted the rear entertainment package, which is not a common option for a dealer to order in and I really wanted the blue. No dealer around had a st on order even so in went the order. Dealer thought it would be January but I won't be surprised if it's March.
  6. I've seen a few who seem to be unsure of molding or tuning a st. I'm still waiting on a vin and build date for mine and will likely do it after a year or 2.
  7. Why are so many acting like this engine is such a new thing? The engine is from the sport and f150, the tyranny is the old 6 speed with 2 more gears added, the ptu is really the only new thing. Modding it will likely be no different than other models, just less gains with tuning. Also unless I'm missing something? You are gaining alot more in the low to mid end over stock than they are claiming, unless I am really miss reading that dyno graph. The top end is a little disappointing though.
  8. Going over the spec sheets on both US and Canadian websites it appears the US truly doesn't get the adaptive leds but Canada does. What is listed on the US site is LED Headlamps with LED Park Projector and LED Amber light Blade Turn Signal Canadian site lists Adaptive LED Headlamps with LED Amber Light Blade Turn Signals
  9. Doesn't any kind of tune void your warranty anyways?
  10. Someone on here has already done it on here.
  11. They discontinued the 3.5l v6 for 2019 so yes for the 2019 model year any model but a st comes with only th 4 cylinder 2l turbo now.
  12. Also all digital content has to be converted back to analog for the speakers to recreate the sound.
  13. Thanks! No brake package in Canada so I don't have to worry about that until later. Guess I'll include my second set with trade if they offer enough. Now to decide on buying a set of 20 inch or buy just a set of tires for the 21s until I find a set of 21" rims for winter.
  14. One thing I can't seem to find an answer to is, is the bolt pattern the same for rims as the older models and will it still truly fit 18 inch rims on the st like was speculated. Trying to figure out if I need to buy new winter rims before mine comes in or not.
  15. Ok cool. Looks like ford does use a combination of it along with the auto highbeam stuff probably where I got confused. https://www.ford.ie/shop/explore/technology/driving-experience/ford-lighting-technology
  16. Oh ok. Seemed like everything I read involved high beams, everything also mentioned dynamic led headlights no idea if there is a difference or just marketing. According to the Rep who brought out the st demo to the dealer her the Canadian cars are supposed to have it functional and it is supposed to be quite obvious. Said it took a while to get used to. Considering this thing has been released there really are too few details on it available Imo.
  17. How often do you have your high beams on? That's when it comes into play and is active.
  18. It's a 1450 price difference between a loaded 400a and 401a on the Canadian site, with out black rims and brake package. The difference is more than cooled seats, it also has heated rear seats, adaptive led headlights and a little more other tech.
  19. Exactly if pads were the problem they would have said so. It's just someone at ford who thinks once you cross the boarder we all live in igloos and couldn't possibly enjoy a summer tire.... My summers go hide and and my studded hak 8's come out to play. So much fun!
  20. It's bigger rotors on front and different pads, not like we are talking carbon ceramic rotors. Fords direct and only reason was summer only tires. For some reason they still put it in their marketing material pics though for us. It does suck we are low priority, we buy fewer vehicles than florida does alone. Oh well like others Ill just go aftermarket. I get not having a check list like McLaren or other high end manufacturers.
  21. Ya, you wouldn't think it would be hard to shoot one a few provinces over instead of south of the border.
  22. No I tried really hard to order mine with the brake package, my dealer investigated it for me as soon as they received their dealer order forms and the package wasn't listed. Then when the US website listed it and there was a package code they looked into if that could be specially added, we received an email directly from ford saying there was no way for it to be ordered with it and it was not going to be offered with it in canada. So unfortunately it's just not an option if they aren't willing to add on some calipers, pads and a brushless fan onto a canada edge I can't see them willing to do anything anymore complex than that.
  23. Maybe it is just the way you worded it but the convenience package is actually included in the 401a package. I personally have no use for a garage door opener, no garage, don't care about lift gate and the perimeter alarm is useless unless you are in the habit of parking with your windows rolled down and doors locked. Packages whether it involves tv, insurance, cars, etc are all the same no one is going to use or like/want all the options.
  24. The percentage of oxygen doesn't change, just the molecules of everything that make up air is less dense. So there is more empty space between the molecules. Psi is Psi so at higher altitudes it can take more "work" to make that psi. Something like an air compressor has to work harder and longer to get a tank to an internal pressure of 120 or so because it gets less air in a compression stroke. So any power loss in a turbo motor would be due to the turbo taking longer to produce boost and possibly not reaching it's max boost because the turbo has to spin faster to get more air and not to make up for lower percentage of oxygen in air. You are right though that there is less oxygen per cubic foot but only because there is less air also. Your compression ratio of air will increase on its own though because your turbo has to spin faster to make 1 psi at 5000ft than at sea level. Inducing lag and possibly less max boost. http://www.altitude.org/why_less_oxygen.php
