  1. The thing is with most reviewers I find they are becoming jaded because of what higher priced suvs offer. Yes you can find a nicer interior in similarly priced models, I do however quite like the interior of my st, but you won't find anything new with the same performance and safety features within 10 grand of the st. With the starting price of an edge it was never going to be a 35k st model. Up here the fiesta st starting msrp is 26k, 10k above a base, focus st is 30k, 15k double the price of a base, and the focus rs is a shocking 59k. So all the reviewers complaining about the price of the edge st and wanting an rs likely aren't going to be happy with it either. Ford screwed up also by sending demos out with less than 2k miles on them, or should have killed the break in period on them, since there is quite a difference after that. Comparing a tuned sport to a handicapped st isn't a great comparison but it is what it is. Maybe I'm biased because I own one but I very rarely find myself agreeing with the youtube reviewers. The transmission isn't perfect, i can agree on that, but does it make me wish i bought a slower competing model or spent alot more on an import? Not at all. It really is great and fun to drive. That's just my 2 cents.
  2. The sound button he is referring to is a physical button on the dash.

    Edge ST MPG

A .1 difference would hardly be considered down. It's such a small variance that you could easily have that from one tank to the next. Also you had 30 miles to empty, so getting roughly 14mpg you still had a little more than 2 gallons to go to empty, plus the known 2 gallons in reserve and the 14.3 you put in and you are at roughly 18.5 gallons of fuel. If you are so concerned get on a highway doing 60-70mph for an hour or 2 on a not too windy day, or make sure you aren't pushing the wind and see what mileage you get.

    Edge ST MPG

I've currently got 1565 miles on mine and with winter warm up's and all the yielding at uncontrolled intersections to take kid to school and wife to work I get an average of 13.5 mpg. Got a whole 166 miles out of this last tank lol. I definitely got better in city with the 13 3.5l sel but it wasn't as fun to drive and didn't warm up near as fast or stay as warm while driving so it's worth it and has improved since last post. I know it gets far better on the highway and if I get to cruise at 50 mph on Main city roads I have seen 33mpg lately. So just don't ever stop, idle or drive fast. ?

That is alot of mine unfortunately.

This is impossible due to the numerous factors in gas mileage. You could ask the epa to use 65 or 70 mph as opposed to 55 that they currently have mandated but not everyone would achieve them still. No matter what they do for city mileage though i will never achieve it in my barely city and don't expect to but wish i could.
  7. Cool! I'll give it a read. I didn't refresh the message before I started typing and seen you posted the same thing only after I posted lol.
  8. It was from a coating on the piston in the caliper being wrongly applied and off gassing hydrogen gas into the brake fluid around the piston for the honda. This is not something guaranteed to affect every mode with these brakes unlike air bags. The manufacturer told honda they screwed up so the repair would likely be covered by the manufacturer and not cost honda or anyone else anything so I can't see Ford sweeping it under the rug if Ford was informed about it. It also only applied to 2018-19 models, long after your 2012, so I highly doubt it applies at all. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a25174228/honda-odyssey-hr-v-acura-mdx-recall-brakes/

Unfortunately I'm only seeing 11 mpg out of mine with this winter being so cold around here. That is all city. Highway I have seen 26 but that was on a highway doing only 60mph. When doing 70 the mileage drops to about what you are getting. Like you I'd really like to see better once it starts to warm up.

You live in New York state, between the cold air, possible wind one way and driving faster than the epa estimates mileage at you would be lucky to see the 26 the epa says.
  11. It doesn't help the brakes but it helps with cooling. A brushless fan has high torque to weight ratio, more torque per watt (increased efficiency), spin faster, increased reliability, reduced noise and lasts longer.
  12. Pay the extra for premium so you get the extra detergents and not worry about it. It'll cost you about the same without worrying what some bottle additive is actually doing.
  13. This thing definitely exhausts a ton warming up. I've had it clunk if I haven't let it warm up enough, especially if I give it gas too quick after shifting. It's been so cold here this winter things need extra time.
  14. Unless it's an ST. They have said it requires a different tuner
  15. I thought it was supposed to be more obvious, even the guy that brought the demo out said they moved around alot. Sounded like it was supposed to be a better system than the hid one.
  16. My dealer has confirmed on some across the country do move apparently but niether of us have seen it. One told us that they move only slightly and can tell if you have something cast a shadow on startup and if the vehicle was left inside for a bit, I haven't had a chance to try it just to say I did it, but others sound like they are pretty obvious. So I really have no clue and really think mine has it screwed up as I don't have the option on the left screen. So I'm currently waiting on this to be resolved plus a new headlight since my left daytime running light doesn't light up 75 percent of the time and there of course isn't one available in Canada with this being a new style. ?
  17. Where i live there are no European dealers within an hour and a half from me. Your local dealers are domestic, Hyundai or Toyota. So only other options somewhat similar to an edge would be something srt. The extra planning for maintenance, the hassle/time spent of getting it to the dealer for any warranty work or if it refuses to run on top of the significant price difference made anything European not an option.
  18. I've never paid attention. All I've notice is it gets the interior warmer and keeps me warmer than my 13 ever did even at - 30. As for the auto stop start. There are numerous factors on if it cuts in like engine temp, interior temp and how firm you press the brake peddle(if you always are soft braking and barely pressing it to come to a stop it won't cut in).
  19. I don't think it is because the st is a little higher priced than what the sport was though. Canadian msrp is only a couple thousand more than a sport max. Around here there aren't even that many sports driving around. The economy is down and the sweet spot for buyers has always been the sel, what you see the most on the lot and driving around. All the negative reviews haven't helped draw in the type of buyer that would be interested in it either. It really is one that needs to be test driven and unfortunately probably gets written off before that type of buyer gets to that point. I love mine, my family describes it like being in a roller coaster. ?
  20. Please tell me you are putting on one of these. https://www.vmpperformance.com/VMP-GEN-3-TVS-2650-Supercharger-for-2007-14-GT500_2
  21. You should also never run it that empty. Fuel is used to cool the fuel pump and if you run it to low too often you will burn it out.
