How to do a "speaker walk test"
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I have tried that. Just doesn't work. The instructions say to "simultaneously" press the on/off and the seek down button. Are you saying to press the on/off first, then the seek down? That is different from the directions, but I tried it and held them for almost a minute. Nothing happens. Thanks for trying to help. -
How to do a "speaker walk test"
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks Haz. According to the documents above, I do have ignition mode on when I press the start button once without applying the brake. My start button light is blinking, and that also indicates ignition mode is on with the engine off. So, I should be able to enter the walk test by pushing the buttons as previously instructed, but it just doesn't work. No biggie, everything works well. Maybe someone else with a 22 can try and see if it works for them. Thanks so much for all your help and the great documents on the B&O system. It is a great audio system. -
How to do a "speaker walk test"

Apparently mine doesn't work like that. When I push the start button once it chimes and the cluster lights up and displays a message that it is in full accessory mode. A second push shuts it off. It is either accessory or off. I don't have an ignition mode. This is all without my foot on the brake. If I put my foot on the brake, of course the car just starts, but the test doesn't work that way either. Guess I'll give it up for now. All the speakers are working fine, just something I thought was cool on my prior Ford. Thanks for the B&O guide too, Haz! -
How to do a "speaker walk test"

It didn't work for me. I tried the one with the Volume button you have circled in red (I assume that is the same thing as what they call the "on/off button" in the direction attachment you included), and the seek down button (you had highlighted in red the seek up button on your graphic, but the attachment said to hold the seek down button). I tried this for the full 20 seconds the attachment states, and then even longer, but nothing happened except the radio turned off when I released the buttons. I tried the same combo with the seek up button as you highlighted, but it didn't work either. I also tried the steering wheel seek left and steering wheel volume down buttons and this didn't work either. In both cases, I held the buttons down simultaneously as it directs. I'm probably doing something very simple wrong. I had the radio on an FM station as the directions state (AM/FM) mode. The directions say to "Place the ignition mode to on." I pressed the button without hitting the brake, so the car didn't start. Is that the "on" mode, or does it have to be running? It isn't clear exactly what "Place the ignition mode to on" means, and maybe that is where I erred as when I pushed the ignition button without starting the car, it went into accessory mode. -
As I mentioned in an earlier post, my 22 ST has no issue with the front camera as it comes on, goes off and will come on as intended. I was rather shocked yesterday when I looked at my screen and it said a software update just finished. I was hoping I just didn't get the update that wrecks the front camera. I checked and it still works just fine. My software version is now 22043_PRODUCT Revision: 379. Is that the same or different version for those of you with the 21s that have the malfunctioning camera?

How to do a "speaker walk test"
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks Haz. It is late now, but I will try this tomorrow. What does it mean when it refers to "audio control panel?" I have a few physical buttons on the dash near the power on and tuning button, and the rest is controlled by the 12 inch video screen. Do I have an audio control panel? -
I had a 17 Fusion Energi that had all the bells and whistles and you could do a speaker walk test where it would play a tone on each speaker to verify they all worked. There were some other cool things in that diagnostic menu. There was a sequence you pushed, such as the Eject CD and volume up, I think, that activated this. Now I have a 22 Edge ST and can't figure out how to get into those screens. There's no CD eject key. I saw one post in the Bronco forum that said press the next station search on the steering wheel, and the one on the FCIM (not sure what that is), but there is a up station search physical button on the dash next to the tuning knob. I tried that sequence and nothing happens. Anyone know how to get into this on the Edge with the big 12 inch screen? Thanks!

I had time to test mine again on my 22 ST that I've had since April 18th. If I'm stopped, I can turn the front camera on. When I accelerate, it goes off at approximately 7 mph. Nowhere near 15 mph. If I use the brake and stop the car, I can push the front camera button and it comes back on fine, then when I accelerate it goes back off at around 7 mph. So, it appears mine functions correctly, but turns off well before 15 mph. I don't know if this is the intended behavior or not, but at least it does come back on when I'm below 7 mph every time, so I don't have that problem. I can try to find the software version I have and post that to see if I have the newest one.

I'm a bit confused about what you are saying has changed or is broken. I'm probably not reading it correctly. I just got a new 22 ST about 6 weeks ago. If I turn on the forward camera on while in drive, the camera comes on, but turns off by itself when I pick up a little speed (could be 15mph). Is that the expected functionality you mention above? If I slow down or stop, but leave the car in gear and activate the front camera, it comes on, then goes off when I speed up. I often check for software updates, but have never received one since I got the car on 4/18. I would think the 22 might have the same software as the 21, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the useful and detailed response. I don't know if it is just luck or not, and still concerned about why it failed yesterday, but this afternoon when I went out to start the Edge, the temperature was back on the display. Hopefully this will stay on forever, because if it is intermittent it is always hard to diagnose. If it does occur again, I will try the settings on the right hand side message center to see if it will change from metric to english, although I don't recall seeing that level of being able to change those settings from the steering wheel. If it is indeed a loose connection, that also isn't real good as they probably have to take the whole dash off or something drastic to get to it. I'll report back here if it occurs again.

I've had the car about 2 weeks and around 400 miles on it. All of a sudden today the temperature display is missing from the upper right corner of the large display screen. It just shows a dash there. The temperature still displays on the right dash panel behind the steering wheel like it always does. I have restarted the car multiple times and it won't come back. I went into the settings and noticed that they show Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, and KM instead of miles. I figured this must have something to do with the missing temperature, so I changed them both back to Fahrenheit and miles, but every time I change them, the settings, within about 2 seconds switch back to the metric settings. No matter how many times I change them, they change back. I think somehow the 2 are related. Any ideas on what to do? I dread taking it to the dealer already, and they will probably say they are backlogged and it could take weeks to get to it.

I just got my 22 ST a few days ago. I didn't want to pay the extra $75 to the dealer for the locking lugs, so I bought them from Ford accessories site for $48. My manual says to tighten to 162 ft/lbs? I've never had a car call for that. My previous 2017 Fusion had upgraded wheels and I think they only went to 110 or 120. I didn't get the performance wheels and brake package, but the ST comes standard with 20 inch bright machined aluminum painted. That just seems like a lot of force for aluminum wheels. I suppose I should trust the manual? Thanks!

What is this icon on top bar of Sync 4 touch screen?
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I played around a bit with the settings today. If I turn off "vehicle connectivity" the icon goes away, so I guess that is what it is. It would be nice if this icon was shown in the list of icons in the manual. -
I just got my 22 ST a few days ago and have one icon in the upper right of the Sync 4a touch screen that I can't figure out what it is. It doesn't show up in the icon list in the owner manual, and an internet search doesn't mention it, although other people have it as well as shown in screenshots some have shared. It is next to the cell phone and wifi indicators and has an up arrow, a down arrow and a pointer similar to something you would see on a map or navigation screen. I can try to post a screenshot when I get in the car next time. Something with Fordpass?

No owner's manual or keyless entry PIN?
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I get that they are free online. I can't tell you how many times over the years I was glad I had a paper manual for fuse locations, lug nut torque and many other things. Maybe I need to buy something and need the specs of the car and I don't have access to search the internet? Just sad that this was stopped. I'll probably buy one. -
No owner's manual or keyless entry PIN?
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Thanks for all the replies. Yes, I'm going to insist they find the keyless entry code card and give it to me, although if someone had malicious intent, they could have copied it. It used to come sealed in the owner's manual holder. -
So I picked up my 22 Edge ST yesterday that I had ordered in September. Everything went well until I wanted to go through the owner's manual to learn how to do everything on the large touch screen. There wasn't one in the glove box. The only thing in there was a plastic wrapped group of documents such as the Sirius flyer, Tire warranty and very small supplementary owner's manual. I realize they are online, but I can't tell you how many times I've been out somewhere with a bad fuse or even changing a tire and used the paper manual. What if the battery is dead? Also, the keyless entry code always comes in a card inside the manual. It was nowhere to be found. I went back to the dealer today and they at first said someone will find it for me, then said there isn't one, but there should have been a keyless entry card, but they can't find that either. I did look and found a way to get the keyless code through inserting both key fobs in a slot in the console. They said because you can access the manual through the touch screen, which you can, they don't give you one anymore. I'm not sure I believe them as they also didn't tell me the truth about the Ford ESP extended warranty either. They told me there was no such thing anymore and would sell me a 3rd party warranty through someone called MPP. I looked on Ford's website and they do still have the ESP and said I could get it directly from them. So, does anyone know if that's true that there are no manuals in the 22s now? Thanks!

What size receiver comes with the tow package?
Davidoo replied to Davidoo's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Thanks. I did go to the dealer and they had a couple of STs on the lot, which surprised me because I ordered mine last September, so how did they get those before me? Anyway, the STs on the lot all had the 2 inch receiver, which I was happy to see. I'm surprised they did this because with that receiver, some idiot will probably think they can pull a large travel trailer with it because it fits, and then sue Ford when it comes off.
