  1. Although I am more confused than ever, this is a lot of great information. After a good examination of my 2024 2.7 Engine. I see no signs of a secondary fuel injector for the intake valve. I do however see a very extensive network of piping and hoses throughout the intake system. In addition to emissions, I wonder if they have taken measures to minimize the carbon buildup on the intake valve. How long do these engines go before they have any issues? I guess a lot could be based on frequency of oil changes, quality of oil AND gas etc. But aren't most engines today direct injected? Is it possible to get 100k plus off the 2.7 gen 1 without problems?
  2. I know, right! The little rubber mat for the front pass through was 45.00 bucks. It does feel good to have the things there that should have been there in the first place! That tray is probably worth it though, it is so nice to have it.
  3. Ok, according to the research I just did, the Gen 2 came out in 2018 and has the dual fuel injectors (one to keep the intake valve clean). The Gen 2 is also known as the Nano and is the same engine. What I don't know is what year they started using it in the Edge St. I'm guessing 2019?
  4. I just picked up my new 2024 ST and it is awesome! Since there is a good chance we won't see it 2025, you might want to give it some thought. It is becoming an older platform, but it is still competitive with a lot of the newer stuff. I got the wheel and brake package, and the handling is amazing! Also got the 401A options. The 12" touch screen and 12 speaker B&O sound system are icing on the cake. The newer ST's have a cool feature, if you double tap the ESC button, it puts the Advance Trac in to sport mode, making the AWD quite a bit more active. Kind of a hidden feature not in the owner's manual. I'm not 100% sure but it looks to have the 2.7 Nano engine which has port direct fuel injection (2 injectors per cylinder). I'm trying to verify.
  5. So, When I bought my 2021 St it came with the tray. I just traded in for a 2024 model and it did not have the tray. I kept the tray from the 2021 and it fits the 2024. My 2021 also came without the hood insulator blanket. I bought one (from Ford) and it was very easy to install. I transferred it to my 2024. The final item was the rubber pad for the front pass through (between the driver and passenger seat. Seems like these things should have been there.
  6. Thanks for ALL the good info. I did narrow it down to the midsection of the vehicle and found a YouTube post of an identical year vehicle with the about the same miles. He recorded the sound and it was identical. He said his ended up being one of the mufflers which I believe was the resonator. Going to do some more troubleshooting before I head back to the dealership. I'll post my outcome for sure. Thanks Guys!
  7. Wow, Thanks so much for the awesome diagram Haz. Helps me out big time! I couldn't find anything even close to this.
  8. Not to get off subject but i having a rattling issue with my exhaust on my 2021 St. Sounds like it is coming from the resonator. What I can't find is a good description of the individual components in the Edge St exhaust system. From observation it looks like the exhaust exits the heads from each side of the engine, goes through its own separate catalytic converter, then both exhaust pipes enter the resonator before traveling back to the muffler at the very rear of the vehicle. Is this right? Thanks for any feedback.

    Exhaust issues

I know this is an older topic, but I have a 2021 Edge St that has just developed an exhaust rattle at 13000 miles. It happens around 2000 rpm when I rev the motor. Definitely coming from the exhaust system around midway under the car. I climbed under and checked for anything loose or damaged. Nothing. Also noticed the noise is not noticeable until the car is warmed up. Did a bit of research and believe it might be in the muffler, which I believe is in that location where the noise is coming from. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
  10. Hello everyone, I have a 2021 Edge St with 13,000 miles. It just developed a rattling sound underneath the car when I rev up the engine. I can be in park or driving. There is an exhaust rattle around 1900 to 2200 rpm. Very noticeable when I rev the motor a bit while in park. Especially as the motor is decelerating. Seems to happen only after the car has warmed up a few minutes and is definitely in the exhaust system. I took it to a local Ford dealer, and they were too busy to take a quick look. Trying to get some feedback before I take it in. Thanks for any help.
  11. I have a 2021 Edge ST with the same problem. I took it back to the dealer in June. I got a response that Ford was aware of the issue and there would be an OTA software update, expected sometime in September to correct the issue. As of today, my issue has not been corrected. I know I'm a bit late getting into this topic, does anyone have an update???? Below is a copy of the email response from Ford. 2022_06_17_09_20_40 (2).pdf
  12. Mine Too. Kind of scary to see this, is it safe?
