  1. I have to go into S mode to get engine breaking when going down hill.
  2. You would have to test different settings in FORScan to see if you can get the toggle switch back. Unfortunately I don't have a power liftgate to test with.
  3. All 12 parking sensors are operational. Thank you @Haz for providing the requested documents. I have temporarily taped on the additional 8 sensors. I am able to hear the beeping and I get a visual aid on screen. I need to order the brackets that hold the parking sensors in place. It looks like the spots to drill holes already marked with X’s. I may also order the park aid on/off switch if the parking sensors cannot be turned off through software switches. I decided to not complete active park assist at this time because I don’t want to get 2 new rear ABS sensors. I am not sure if I would also need to get the 2 more expensive parking sensors in the front. Right now I am using 8 of the same non-OEM sensors and they are working well.
  4. An update, I have all 12 parking sensors connected. 4 Front and 4 rear parking sensors are operational. Still working on the side sensing system. I am not sure if I will try active park assist because I do not have the 2 rear wheel ABS sensors required.
  5. You can get OEM ambient LEDs and connect them to the BCM. Then you can enable them with FORScan. You could also get any 12v LED strips and connect them to a circuit or power source.

  7. I just drained mine and 3.5 liters came out. I am having trouble with the snap ring. I tried to start filling the transmission but only a little bit went in, and the rest leaked out because I didn’t remove the funnel thing that is blocking it.

From the WSM: Ambient Lighting The ambient lighting subsystem consists of the BCM, and the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) located within the floor console, front and rear door panels, instrument panel and front and rear footwell areas. The ambient lighting is operational when the ignition is in any state other than OFF (the exception is when it is used in conjunction with the illuminated entry/exit features), the headlamps are on and the outside ambient light level is low. The BCM provides the voltage to the ambient lighting system, while the touchscreen ( FDIM) is used to cycle through the different color variations cardiagn.com or turn the ambient lighting feature on or off. A LIN circuit is routed from the BCM to all of the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). There are 3 Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) (red, blue and green) housed within each LED assembly. By illuminating various color combinations, the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are able to produce different colors of ambient light. The APIM uses software to monitor the user interface from the touchscreen. Based on the ambient lighting system selections made using the touchscreen, the APIM sends ambient light color request and ambient light intensity request messages over the communication network for color and brightness settings. The BCM retains the last color and brightness setting between uses.
  10. I tried to press my volume knob in, and it only turn the media on/off. I also tried twisting it at the same time. The silver ring on the outside of the volume button only twists, but it does not push in. When I turned the volume button and pushed it in, the volume would just increase/decrease, then the media would turn off. It isn’t like other SYNC 4 systems where there is a center knob that you can push in to get to the calm screen.
  11. There are people that have tied ambient light power into the power for the factory ambient lights.

  13. I checked out some of the connectors on the BCM, and I connected a wire toner. I was able to hear the beeping by the rear parking sensors and by the front bumper. It looks like I have all of the wires I need to add the other parking sensors. I also began creating a temporary wiring harness for the front sensors.
  14. It is normal. I am disappointed that the LEDs do not take up more space.
  15. The IPC will have an orange popup that says something like full accessory power when you turn it on. I would recommend to watch the battery voltage in the bottom right of FORScan and turn the A/C and other accessories off to save power.
  16. It gets annoying to have to jump through multiple menus. Once I get to the calm screen, I have even got a few phone connection notifications pop up.
  17. I didn't know of any OEM add-on kits. The only one I see now is VAS4Z-15A866-B. I couldn't seem to find installation instructions for the kit. I want to try to stay with an OEM solution so that the parking sensors will integrate with the BCM and other electronics. I don't think I want to do an aftermarket kit because it would require another monitor / beeper. I want to add 8 more sensors, front and sides, and I also want to try to get active park assist.
  18. From the WSM: Traction Control The ABS module continuously monitors and compares the rotational speed of the drive wheels in relation to the non-driven wheels. When the drive wheels begin to spin faster than the non-driven wheels, the ABS module modulates brake pressure to the appropriate brake caliper(s) by opening and closing the appropriate solenoid valves inside the HCU while the hydraulic pump motor is activated. At the same time, the ABS module calculates how much engine torque reduction is required to eliminate the wheel slip and sends this torque reduction message along with a traction event message to the GWM over the HS-CAN2. The GWM sends the engine torque reduction message to the PCM over the HS-CAN1 and the traction event message to the IPC over the HS-CAN3. When the PCM receives the torque reduction message, it adjusts engine timing and decreases fuel injector pulses to reduce the engine torque to the requested level. When the IPC receives the traction event message it flashes the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon). Once the driven wheel speed returns to the desired speed, the ABS module returns the solenoid valves in the HCU to their normal position, deactivates the hydraulic pump motor and stops sending the traction event and torque reduction messages. The PCM returns engine timing and fuel injectors to normal operation and the IPC extinguishes the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon). After the vehicle speed exceeds 100 km/h (62 mph), traction control is accomplished only through the PCM torque control. Traction control can be disabled using the traction control switch in the following manner: Momentarily pressing the switch disables only traction control, ABS, ESC and RSC remain enabled. Pressing the switch twice rapidly engages Sport Mode. Sport mode modifies the stability control intervention thresholds to allow for a more driving experience. Pressing the switch once after the system is deactivated fully enables the traction control system. Pressing the switch once after Sport mode is activated, deactivates Sport mode and fully enables the traction control system. When the driver disables traction control, the IPC communicates traction control status to the GWM along the HS-CAN2. The GWM sends the message to the ABS module along the HS-CAN2. The ABS module takes no further action in regards to traction control until the driver activates the function or until the ignition is cycled from OFF to ON.
  19. You can upgrade the liftgate control module's firmware with FORScan beta. It is recommended to use FDRS instead though.
  20. I have seen a 2013 taurus randomly turn on its hazard lights while parked. Same button style.
  21. @Haz Do you have a BCM pinout that shows the pins that the parking sensors use?

From the 2013 Owner's manual: ROOF RACKS AND LOAD CARRIERS (IF EQUIPPED) WARNING: When loading the roof rail crossbars, it is recommended to evenly distribute the load, as well as maintain a low center of gravity. Loaded vehicles, with higher centers of gravity, may handle differently than unloaded vehicles. Extra precautions, such as slower speeds and increased stopping distance, should be taken when driving a heavily loaded vehicle. Note: The maximum recommended load is 100 pounds (45 kilograms), evenly distributed on the crossbars. Note: Loads should never be placed directly on the roof panel. The roof panel is not designed to directly carry a load. For proper function of the roof rack system, loads must be placed directly on crossbars affixed to the roof rack side rails. Your vehicle may be equipped with factory-installed crossbars. Ford Genuine Accessory crossbars, designed specifically for your vehicle, are also recommended for use with your roof rack system. Make sure that the load is securely fastened. Check the tightness of the load before driving and at each fuel stop.
  23. I replaced my RTM for remote start and my TPMS relearned automatically with just a few minutes of driving.
  24. I though the auto start stop is disabled in FORScan by disabling the BMS.
