  1. The car's great; handles well, comfortable and I'm liking the sat radio, nav, etc. Also, no need to fumble around hiding my Garmin when leaving the car so thieves don't get a free toy. I'd like to see some enhancements to the nav, but find it's actually better than my Garmin.
  2. Definitely sounds like a wiring issue and always fun to fix
  3. The nav's very good, but mapping database from whatever vendor definitely needs updates. Also, would like the capability to generate our own list of POIs and install. For example, I downloaded a list of rest stops someone on POI Factory created for Garmins; great feature.
  4. Ordered a Bugflector II which arrived yesterday. Waiting for slightly warmer temps or head over to a friend's house next week to use his garage. I may need to remove some inserts holding the rubber on the hood. I really don't want to drill any holes
  5. Page 284 in the Owner's manual contains the following: Passenger compartment fuse panel The fuse panel is located behind a trim panel on the left side of the driver’s footwell near the parking brake. To remove the trim panel, slide the release lever to the right then pull the trim panel out. To remove the fuse panel cover, press in the tabs on both sides of the cover, then pull the cover off. To reinstall the fuse panel cover, place the top part of the cover on the fuse panel, then push the bottom part of the cover until it clicks into place. Gently pull on the cover to make sure it is secure. To reinstall the trim panel, align the tabs on the bottom of the panel with the grooves, push the panel shut and slide the release lever to the left to secure the panel. To remove a fuse, use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel cover. You'll need to lie on the driver's floor mat, etc to gain access to the fuse panel.
  6. I've driven mine LTD in cold, snow and wind without any noises. Sure sounds like the door's slightly out of alignment or bent at the top. I owned a Mitsubshi Montero years ago. Once I got up to 70 or higher the doors opened slightly at the top creating a lot of racket., I could see the daylight streaming between the door's top and car frame. Yes, no leaks when washing the car.
  7. A few comments. Toyota developing a touch system lends credibility to Ford and the future. Now, if they develop a standard so we can share apps? I'm in the over 50 crowd and definitely love the MFT. I spend my day around systems so technology's no stranger to me The more I use the system the more comfortable I am. I've owned my LTD for just over two weeks. In fact, the first night, I just started pushing buttons and configured several operations in a few minutes. Now learning voice commands and how to mess with the system's mind; yes, my evil twin's inner being surfaced and needs to cause trouble..
  8. BTW, if you're pulling fuses and need a fuse puller, head to Wally World or an auto parts store. I picked up a fuse puller and some fuses for a few bucks. Just might save you from dropping a fuse during the colder weather.
  9. I found one in my center console, but still unclear its function
  10. IMO, who cares about the CR article. I've owned my Edge for two weeks. I'm using the voice commands to select radio stations, etc and truthfully thrilled I can keep my hands on the wheel instead of punching buttons. Remember, we're on cutting edge and the futre will only add more useful apps to MFT. Remember, the Edge is more than just a high-tech control system; it's a great car providing comfortable ride.
  11. Nope, never found a function for displaying tire pressure. Sure sounds like a useful feature since the TPMS can signal low pressure.
  12. Yes, Happy New Year and safe driving
  13. Just updated the map. I'm in Massachusetts, the land of Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. Also, the Charles River and I don't love that muddy water...............................................
  14. I'm beginning to learn by shifter position which gear I selected plus the number of clicks from park to drive. However, a couple of times I'm not paying attention and selected Manual only to race the engine and watch the tach climb. Im my mind a very simple cheap option to add an indicator. Yes, I know, you can look at the dash.
  15. Amy, I enabled the breadcrumb feature during a day trip today. I only saw the marching ants or breadcrumbs when returning with the map in map mode and no set destination. I fond the feature a bit uselss. I used breadcrumbs on an old Garmin and I could view my route(s) and destinations for the day. I'm hoping the developers will enable more functionality in the future.
  16. Yup, I used the same procedure. The manual contains images which show preset numbers next to the preset stations; ignore the image because they'll confuse you. Once you set the prset station you can call it up using the voice command and preset number.
  17. I've accidently set off my panic alarm twice now. Christmas morning at 8:30 AM and yestesday why shoveling snow. I searched all over for a suitable and cheap case for the key FOB and I believe I've found a solution. Staples sells a neoprene USB case for around $4.50. Unfortuanately, fuschia in color, but who cares. Case Logic makes the case. I cut the case with scissors leaving material over the panic button which will prevent ME from pushing the stupid alarm. I'd love to find the person who designed the key FOB and gently explain how they missed the boat. Yes, you can insert you're own phrases or words here; I'm trying to remain polite.
  18. Thanks for the update. definitely quality stuff. I've owned a few mounts too.
  19. Happy Birthday and nice present to yourself
  20. Good idea! Wait a minute, will they develop a new dance rivaling the Chicken Dance?
  21. Here's a link one of the guy's posted awhile back. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/1890-yakima-q-towers-and-bamr/page__st__20__p__39845__hl__%2Bedge+%2Broof+%2Bracks__fromsearch__1#entry39845 Also, both Thule and Yakima sites provide links for "fitting" various racks to cars.
  22. Great review, thanks. My Limited's scheduled to arrive this week. So, I'm jealous you're playing in yours. I've used many Garmins over the years and expect I'll still carry a Garmin even with the Limited's onboard nav. Car manufacturers cannot keep up with the aftermarket GPS vendors.
