Safety Recall 23S12 - Certain 2015-2019 Edge, 2016-2018 MKX + Other Models - Front Brake Flexible Hose Replacement

Ford has issued this Advance Notice to Dealers about the upcoming Safety Recall 23S12 affecting certain Edge & MKX vehicles, and other models, shown below.

While the supplier base scales up production of uniquely identified replacement parts in sufficient number to equitably address the large population of vehicles involved, this Safety Recall is not actionable, that is, dealers have been directed to wait until the complete Dealer Bulletin with parts-ordering information is provided to them in the third quarter of 2023.

Until this full replacement of front brake hoses -- regardless of their condition -- on the described vehicles begins, owners whose vehicles suffer front brake hose leakage or failure continue to have available to them Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02 (link to prior post) to provide a one-time no cost repair of any faulty original front brake hose. You may notice that vehicles repaired under CSP 22N02 are not included in this Safety Recall 23S12 field service action.

I will update this post when the complete Notice To Dealers letter is released, likely in third quarter 2023.

Good luck!

My 2019 was built 1/04/2019 so not subject to this recall, but it is 1 of 3 outstanding on my 2015 Fusion (which is 900 miles away and driven by my daughter). She has recall malaise from taking it in for at least 4 other recalls. She is a teacher so now is the time to get them taken care of (I can't talk, I have one remaining airbag recall on my 2012 Fusion). I think of the 3 recalls still outstanding, she has taken it in for one of them previously, and it was updated.

Adding visuals to support Chipster's advice, using an eligible Fusion VIN...

Similarly, the NHTSA site provides Recall Status via VIN Search...

And finally, the dealer enters the VIN into OASIS to determine Field Service Action eligibility...

It's worth noting that in OASIS and on the Ford Support site, eligibility previously shown for Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02 has been removed, and eligibility for Safety Recall 23S12 has been added.

Good luck!
