Hand-calculated. I expect better as the miles increase (1000 right now). My old car was a 1994, 4 cylinder Honda Accord and I got 20 mpg on the same weekly drive.

On my '09 FWD currently:

Total Odometer: 158.5 miles (brand spaking new)

16.9 MPG

Highest I have seen it is 18 MPG

07 Edge SEL AWD

23000 miles

Averages 20-21 city and highway together. Highest was 24 and lowest 17.5! Not bad for a vehicle of this size. I will give up some mpgs to know that my wife is safe on her drive to work!!!!!

My '09 FWD with 1,100 miles has been averaging 21.1 according to the computer (mostly driving short trips around town under 3 miles at a time). Today I filled up, drove an 89 mile round trip with cruise set on 60MPH.

Computer showed 27.1 so I filled back up to double check manually and came up with 26.7

I am light on the pedal, and let off earlier than most drivers when coming to stops.

I just took delivery of an 09 AWD Sport with the heavy 22" wheels and I can't get above an average of 14.6mpg. I have a K&N air filter on the way and am thinking about a Magnaflow exhaust upgrade to get it breathing easier. I had a 08 Escape V6 4WD and went from 16mpg to almost 19mpg with breakin and a K&N air filter. The stock paper filter material is very restrictive and does cause reduced gas mileage and at this rate I'll take any gain I can get.

800 miles

average 70% hwy/ 30% stop and go, hand calculated- 17.5mpg

lie-o-meter reads - 18.5mpg

The computers are always off for me. My 2008 F-250 diesel would read about 1 mpg off also.

I just installed a drop-in K&N (I don't expect anything from it), Magnaflow cat back seems back ordered and my SCT programmer will be here next week. We'll see what happens then?

2008 Limited AWD........15,500 miles

10.4 City

11.2 Highway

I am very impressed with these numbers. I was expecting around 9's for city :D

WOW, that is totally abysmal!

How in the world do you get that terrible gas mileage? I used to get that with my '79 HighBoy 400 C.I. V8, 4wd with 35" mud tires and 410 ring/pinions fully loaded. My 08 AWD Limited Edge gets 19.5 worst case, and best so far with no trips over 20 miles is 22.5. These are calculated values not computer averages (although my computer is pretty close, give or take a mpg).

Do you live in NY or LA in bumper to bumper gridlock all day?

All depends on how heavy our foot is. Drive like an old man and numbers are good. Race around town and numbers are low.
