curlysir Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 It seems that there may be more than one path to v 2.4. Those with the DA update in the history do not seem to show BD or BE. Not sure what that means or why there are multiple paths. Interestingly though, some of those folks seemed to have the Ambient light and Lincoln logo issue. The list that Curly posted provides a more detailed view than the sidebar version above. It would appear that Ford wants us to focus on the version now rather than the update code. I have the Ambient Light issue but not the Lincoln Logo issue. The dealer installed the BD update and I downloaded and installed the BE update during the short period it was available online. I really would like to know the differences in the suffixes and what is the latest versions. Everything is working correctly except for the blue and green switch on the Ambient light. Also check the Nav system (if equipped) before you leave and make sure it works. Definitely agree with Curly. Ensure the dealer has done many of them successfully. The MFT has been quite stable and fully functional since the 2.4 version was installed. The mobile internet with in-car wi-fi has been a real hit in my household. Although, it seems to only work with our iPhone 4 (via BT) and no other devices that we have tried. The only dodgy bit that I see continues to be pairing muliple BT devices. Further updates should include the ability to identify if a BT device should only be a phone or a media player or both. It should allow the user to choose to change the media player or the phone or just only connect the device for later use. It should also recognize if a device is NOT a phone such as an Apple iPod. Currently, with my system, if I have the Blackberry connected as phone on BT then I connect the iPod, it changes the phone also to the iPod. Further, if already connected to a "favourite" phone, it should not change the BT phone connection to a newly connected device, at least not before allowing the user the choice. I would expect that the above will be difficult. There are so many manufacturers and Bluetooth approaches. However, this is a leading edge(bleeding edge!) system and the developers certainly should be up to the challenge based upon their eventual success with v. 2.4. harleymhs Posted January 19, 2011 Report Share Posted January 19, 2011 I did the Gen 2 update, and like many other people my ambient colors are off, the 4 quandrant colors are differnt now ( dont match the 4" display like they used to ) and I have a Lincoln Logo now as my default wallpaper! My question is HAS ANYONE out there have the same issues and had them CORRECTED by the dealer? I only read a handul people had this issue and I wanted to see if ANYONE that HAD this issued had it corected? Is this an isolated issue or wondering did this happen to ALL the 2011 with the Gen 2 update! Im going back to the dealer tonight to drop it back off .. if anyone can reply to this today I would appreciate it so I have some AMMO to give to the dealer tonight! Thanks in advance!
