I would go with the H6 AGM Everstart Platinum from Walmart.
Be sure to reset your battery monitoring and select a new battery code if you change size and type.
Car is over five years old so I'm thinking it's probably good to replace the original factory battery.
Question is, what does every one think is the best replacement? I understand that it should be an H6 or Group 48 AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery but beyond that I'm not sure what the best choice would be.
I know I could go right to my local Ford dealer but I suspect that might be the most expensive option.
What should I do?
What's behind your thoughts of changing the timing chain around 100K?
I've got 117,000 miles on my 2016 2.7L and don't have plans to change the timing chain, but might reconsider that depending on what I hear back from you.
The only way to get a visual on this belt is to drop the oil pan, or disassemble the entire front of the engine.
This video IS an example of an engine that had maintenance neglected - the concern is clearly the mileage of this engine. I look at this video and think - crap - MY engine has 80k on the clock. I was planning to go to 100k before doing a timing set and replace this belt then.
A little research confirms that the 2019 ST and onwards use the belt driven oil pump.

Do we have any idea on how these are holding up? - haven't heard of any reports on this forum, but that could be that there would be very few at 100K miles or more.
What Model/Year do you have? - Please add that to your profile signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
Can you confirm that the 2.7L V6 in the Ford Edge has a belt driven oil pump.
I love my 2.7 for what it is and how much fun I get out of it. The more I learn about the oil pump belt in these engines the more concerned I get. I am putting a link here to a teardown video of another Ford engine - the 3 cyl. 1.5 with the same style belt at 70k.
Teardown video.
The condition of this belt, at that mileage is - well - verification of the problem I think.
thanks for posting those instructions. They are almost the same as mine except for the real pictures and the steps to add the additional fluid. I did notice there was a procedure revision date of 09/24/2021 so that explains my manual discrepancies. Perhaps I need to go back and add some fluid although I haven't noticed any drivability concerns. Or did this have something to do with the change from an 8 speed to a 7 speed transmission?
I guess my real question is, is part number BA1Z9E731C the only replacement unit that can be used for my year and model? I keep getting suggestions for other part numbers that can be used. But the Ford parts catalog by VIN says BA1Z9E731C.
Thanks!
Heres from the 2019 Edge ST FSM. This one is a little easier to read than the 2022 one that was posted in the other thread. Both have you adding 1 quart at the end, after you install the leveling bolt for the final time. The 2022 one posted has more info on going through gears though and is not mentioned in the 2019 one.
