I have an 11 MKX with an iPhone 4. Both are updated versions. My VC button suddenly stopped working. When you push it, the radio mutes for a second and then comes back on. The prompt command does not chime nor does it say "listening" in the display. The car has been on and off a number of times and it still persists. I had it set to advanced; I was getting good at it. Now I feel like there's 10,000 things I can't do, lol. Any suggestions?

My MKX only gets hand washed, but as far as a valet goes, they need to have that key or else you won't get it back when they go to retrieve the car when you want it.

Larry, I have mine set that way. Go into the L screen next to the speedo under vehicle settings. I can't remember exactly where, but it's in there.

Yes, I did. Both...where the USB connections are as well as the centre storage console. The storage one has a 12 V plug right there with a little trap door and the one under the A/C buttons only has the USB and SD card slots. It's probably biting me in the nose and I can't see it.

The manual talks about a physical place you insert the IA key if the battery in it dies but it does not picture the spot and nor can I find it. Where is it located? Do you remove the physical key and insert it alone?

You don't want it on for too long anyway as you don't want to breathe the same air again and again.

I had a problem once with my i4. I, too, have had no problems since the last sync update. My i4 is fully updated too.

As far as I'm concerned, you just choose what surface you want to get your fingerprints on. I have a Zagg screen protector on my iphone and it gets dirty and fingerprinted something awful. You will either have to clean the screen protector or the screen itself periodically...it's just the nature of the beast for a touchscreen system. Get yourself a soft mf, and spray a little glass cleaner on the mf itself and wipe the screen. Flip the mf and buff. Takes 10 seconds, I do it on mine about once every 2 weeks.

You need to make that part of your test drive. Bring all 3 seats and try them. When you replace your infant carriers, also make sure you try the new ones to make sure they fit prior to purchasing them. Eddie Bauer seats are very wide, especially at the base. At least for forward facing, you can detach it from the base and fold out the rear support.

That had happened to me too. I did not change it but it changed to that setting. I just changed it back. It has not lost it since I did that and it must have been a month or more ago now.

I know when I first started using it, I spoke too slowly like I was talking to a retard. Speak normally and it should work for you. If your phonebook is downloaded, there's no reason it shouldn't work. I have an iphone4 and it works fine.
