  1. I have not had this problem but the method of locking seems to have some relevance according to some conclusions reached here. Having said that, I always lock the car using the inside button. Sometimes I have used the outside door handle button or by pushing the last 2 of the keypad above the door handle. I have had very cold temps too.
  2. Andy, I'll check the model # when I get home from work. I was provided an owner's manual and 2 remotes and 2 sets of headphones.
  3. if you really want to get serious about it, join a detailing forum. There are several good ones. Some are store-operated so they tend to promote what they sell. Others are not but have sponsors. The first one on the list is neither sponsored nor store operated although I am a moderator there so I may be slightly biased about how great it is, LOL. www.live2detail.com www.detailingbliss.com www.autogeekonline.com www.truthindetailing.com Autogeek has a ton of videos and articles outlining many different processes and products. Just be aware they make every product on there sound like it's the second coming of Christ. You'll need to cut and paste into your browser.
  4. I helped this person out in an earlier thread including pictures and everything: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6257-dealer-installed-dvd-your-experience/page__p__49826__hl__%2Bdvd+%2Bin+%2Bheadrests__fromsearch__1&do=findComment&comment=49826
  5. It's simple really. Both belts are made of the same type of material. The UAS belt is about 30% (quick off the top guesstimate) narrower than the car's seat belt. Wider belt=stronger. CR did some testing but it was flawed. Even though they ran the test using ridiculous speeds, the point is still that, given the choice, seat belts are the preferred installation method. I have never used the UAS belts for my own children if that tells you something. Both pass the standards but to exceed them, the seat belt is stronger.
  6. No clue, maybe ask the parts guys at the dealer. If the price is that good, just buy them and if they don't fit, sell them on a F150 forum or ebay or something.
  7. Shane, that blows big time!! Make sure you get a rental and an eta on the part. Driving it that way is unsafe.
  8. You should go just for the eye candy alone. And not just the cars....Ferrari display...white dress...tall blond....yuuuummmmmyyy
  9. There is a lot of MISINFORMATION about leather care on the internet. I don't want to say the companies are lying per se, but automotive leather is really like vinyl. The reason I say that is b/c it is coated from the factory. It cannot be "fed" or any such crap. In order to protect the coating, it needs to be kept clean. A steamer is your best answer there. You do not want to use harsh chemicals such as Woolite or whatever. If you need to clean the seats, use a ph balanced soap at a very mild dilution rate. With steam, you are not using any chemicals at all. Wrap a white terry towel around the steamer head and have at it. Duragloss makes a very mild cleaner and conditioner that helps extend the life of the coating. I do recommend their products. DG is a company with no hype, just results. I have a ton of their products and they are not too expensive either: http://www.duragloss.com/product.asp?pid=284 http://www.duragloss.com/product.asp?pid=283 Optimum is another company with amazing products. Here is their leather cleaner/sealant: http://www.optimumcarcare.com/proplus.php?li=6
  10. I changed my shift today so I could attend the Auto Show in Detroit. I haven't missed one in years. I thought the Ford display was well done and it was crawling with people. There were several Edges on display and they were wearing the 20" chrome wheels..they look great! They had 3 MKX's on display too. They had a black one like mine but it had tan interior and the light wood whereas mine is black interior with the dark wood (like mine more, LOL). The products look great and seem to be well received by a lot of people.
  11. Marie, hopefully someone with your vintage Edge will chime in. Mine is the MLT system and it is obviously different than what you have.
  12. Your Edge looks amazing. And I love this shot!!
  13. UPDATE: When I got into it after work, the screen was black. It took a few seconds until the backup camera showed on the screen and then the Microsoft updating thing went on although that only lasted about 60 seconds. After that the screen was normal. I tried to pair the phone when I got home and it successfully paired without having to do anything else to the phone.
  14. PatentGuy, I assume you didn't disconnect the phone then. I am hopeful it will work for me after my shift or else I'll be playing with it tonight. Thanks.
  15. Well I'm sad to report I've had my first unresolvable sync issue today. I was driving around Windsor this morning and made a few calls via the voice commands no problem. I then crossed the border and was in Detroit for an hour or so. I see that the phone is not connected for some reason. I am using the US network at this point. I have made calls there before with no problem. The phone has never become unsync'd there before either. I waited till I was back home and tried reconnecting it. It did not work. I tried removing the phone and reconecting it: again nothing. I then shut the iphone 4 completely down and tried reconnecting...nada. I then called Apple. He suggested I try a reset under General settings. I did: the iphone is not picking up the sync signal. I also tried shutting the blue tooth off on both the car and phone, still nothing. The only other suggestion he had was to do a full restore on the phone and try it again. This happened once before and all I had to do was to reconnect the phone on the sync screen. I also tried to do a hard reset on the i4 as well. I can't do the restore until I'm back home at 9pm. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to pull the fuse until it's the last resort. In my opinion, it seems like an iphone issue more than a sync issue, but who knows? Edit: I am running both new updates for sync and the i4.
  16. I would not be afraid to buy one now. The major issues are now a thing of the past. Mine has been just awesome.
  17. Hahaha..what is it about us Canadians that like playing silly bugger in the snow so much? I completely agree with you about how the AWD system works though. I noticed that tonight if you go too hot into a bend, the traction control kicks on and kills the power to all the wheels so you can't power out of it. I had it damned near floored and nothing. Once the system backs off the power spikes and away you go. I just HATE being without power for the second or so it does it. I will say though, powering away from a stoplight is great..no problems there whatsoever.
  18. Oh, I don't know about that. My MKX was great other than the night light which was really no big deal. I took it in for the update which did fix the night light and everything continues to function perfectly.
  19. If it can arrange to have a Hooter's girl in my car waiting for me, I'll get it right now!
  20. And yet they didn't offer the 22's on the MKX.
  21. Was it working and now has stopped? Stupid question, but do you realize the button on the outside is ONLY for locking and for unlocking you touch the inside of the door handle? The reason I ask this is for my FX35, the button on the handle did both and it took me a bit to learn the difference.
  22. ....whisper dirty things to her......:shades:
  23. Congrats on your new ride. Those wheels look great on the Edge!
