  1. That should help a lot of people out; thanks for posting.
  2. I was on the sync my ride site today and clicked on that link. I did not have a spare USB key handy to download what I needed to. Was your problem downloading the program to the memory key?
  3. Wilson, now THERE'S a visual!! Check this one out:
  4. Awesome info guys, thanks so much. I called them today and the lady advised me it would be no problem to bill it to a US address. The thing is, there is absolutely no advantage to doing a lifetime subscription now when I have 6 months free. Plus, with all the bills for Christmas, I'd rather wait anyway. I have saved the pricing info (just shy of $700 for both Sirius and XM) and the phone number. Thanks again for the info. And, yes, it is transferrable to another vehicle.
  5. Mine worked fine. Have you upgraded your i4 to the newest version of the OS? I think it's 4.2 if I'm not mistaken.
  6. Thanks guys, I'll try those on Wednesday.
  7. My Canadian neighbour bought a Lexus and ordered a Sirius lifetime package through the US office for a lifetime subscription for $709. The Canadian Sirius prices suck and I want to order the same package. The 800# I found (888-539-7474) is the same for both Canada and the US but when you call it, it says "welcome to Sirius Canada". I need the US # to call and order the package I want. I cannot find a link to the lifetime subscription on their site or I would try to order it directly. Can anyone provide either the # or a link to the package where I could order it? Thanks.
  8. The timing of your question is perfect. I had it done today. It is a perfect match to the factory tint on the other window. I think he said it's 25% although I don't remember the number. He had just done another '11 yesterday. It looks great. I love the look of the tinted glass on white cars. Yours will look fantastic when it's done.
  9. Thanks Shane. It truly is amazing stuff. Thank you. The only Adams Product I have tried is the undercarriage spray. It's good stuff. Their new version of the trim dressing looks great too. They are a sponsor at DetailingBliss where I have been a member for a few years now.
  10. Gator, I have an i4 too and it will stream music via BT if I select the BT link on the screen and manually select the song on the i4. IF I use the USB cable, it will recognize the voice commands. Pretty slick. Make sure you have the latest (ver 2.4?) version of your iphone.
  11. Add me to that list. I'd trade mine tomorrow for it.
  12. Yes I am. Just finishing my 17th year. I had my knee replaced so I'm on desk duty...maybe till the end now, who knows?

  13. Ya, but look where you live...when would you ever use winter blades??? hahahhahaha :shades:
  14. This is very aggressive but take a sponge and wet it and then add some Dawn dish soap directly on the sponge and wipe it on the trim (wet it first). That should remove any crap that's on there, including tire dressing. You can also take a spray bottle and mix 90% IRA with 10% dawn. That makes an effective surface cleaner. It is especially good for preparing paint prior to sealing it. The rubbing alcohol alone will not do it.
  15. Joe, it is an awesome feeling knowing you're the first one to clean it up. Check out the link to my complete job of detailing it and putting the nano coating on it: http://www.live2detail.com/showthread.php?t=971 Trish, thanks so much. Oh, yeah, I hope to get the windows done this week. I'm on afternoons so it's perfect. Check out the work I put into it getting the surfaces sealed: http://www.live2detail.com/showthread.php?t=971
  16. It's an awesome feature IMO. I had it on my 2004 FX35 and loved it. Makes the drudgery of driving on a highway more palatable. My MKX has it although I've only had it a few days and have not tested it yet.
  17. That seems bizarre. Did any update get done to it? I know my MKX will stream music from my i4 when it is connected via USB cable but not with BT. Not a big deal as it usually needs charging anyway. It alerts me to a text but does not read them. I don't want that distraction on the road. Talking on the phone is one thing, texting quite another.
  18. Marc, I fully detailed mine (see my post in detailing section) this weekend including 3 different wash stages. I used a power washer to boot. No water in spite of all that. You have a problem that needs to be addressed.
  19. I finally got to take delivery of my MKX this past week on Wednesday. I had asked the dealer not to touch it and they complied. I did a very thorough cleanup and paint preparation for the Cquartz nano glass coating I put on the paint. I am going to link to the thread I started on my detailing site Live2Detail. My post is long. I am very pleased with the results. If you have any questions about the short forms for any of the products I used, feel free to ask. Here is the link: http://www.live2detail.com/showthread.php?t=971 All feedback is welcomed and appreciated!
  20. Shane, it looks great! I am posting the link to my writeup (it's verbose, LOL). I like your wheels. Chrome and easy to clean. Mine are going to be tougher with the narrower spokes. It looks sharp in white. Are you gonna tint your glass?
  21. I took delivery of my MKX last week. So far everything has been great. Even my iphone4 is working well with it! I am very happy with my car.
  22. Thank you Shane. I'm actually glad the delivery was delayed for 3 weeks b/c so far (KNOCKING VERY HARD ON WOOD) I have not had any real issues. I've got the nightlight but all I have to do is lock it by the black button on the outside door handle and it extinguishes the light. I'm used to using the inside button so I just have to retrain myself. I think we're both going to be doing detail jobs on our vehicles this weekend. I'm home alone with the kids, so once they're asleep, I'm gonna head out into the garage and do it up. I will do a writeup on it at L2D and will post a link to it here too.
  23. I have played with this and found 3 solutions, one of which was mentioned in an above post. As you have observed, if you get out and lock the driver's door, the screen does not stay on. If you do not lock it and open another door (like to remove groceries or something), then it comes back on with the light blue coloured light. If you lock the doors with the button on the inside door panel, it does NOT extinguish the light. If you lock the door in one of 3 ways, either by the numbered buttons on the driver's door or by pushing the black button on the door handle for those who have the intelligent key or lastly, by pushing the lock button on the remote will extinguish the light. You need to retrain yourself for the time being to lock it this way. It will kill the battery if allowed to stay on long enough.
  24. I ordered my MKX on Sept 30. It was built on Nov 5 and then placed on hold preventing it from being shipped. It was shipped Monday, arrived Tuesday and I took delivery yesterday. The dealer did exactly what I requested, which was not to touch the vehicle other than to perform the PDI and fill it with gas. Last night I removed the plastic from the seats and carpet, removed the plastic covers from the wheels, removed the window stickers, etc. I vacuumed the carpet and then applied 303 Fabric Guard (like Scotch Guard) to all the carpeting and carpet mats. It also came with nice rubber mats for the front and the rear. The rear one is a big one that goes all the way across, not two small individual ones. Nice touch. I am going to seal the wood and plastic trim on the inside, buff the paint lightly and apply two coats of a nano glass coating to the paint. I am also going to put it on the wheels; both the faces and the barrels. The trim will also be sealed with it. I will post pics when I am done. For now, this is what it looked like on Tuesday after it had been unloaded from the truck:
